I got this in the Essano trial size pack, but this is probably my least favourite of the products from that.
I love the packaging; both the colour scheme and the practicality of the pump bottle, and I really like the smell, which is a slightly sugary rose scent in my opinion, but very mild and not irritating.
However, I just don’t love much else about this cleanser. Because it doesn’t foam up a lot (it’s almost in between cream/foaming), I have to use quite a bit (at least four pumps with the mini bottle) to actually have enough for my entire face. That means I go through a lot of product each time I use it.
The main reason I won’t be repurchasing this is that, like every other foaming cleanser I’ve tried, it leaves my skin feeling a bit tight and dry. It’s nowhere near as bad as some other brands I have tried, but given that it claims to replenish the skin’s natural moisture barrier and be non-drying, it is disappointing. That being said, my skin just doesn’t seem to agree with any type of foaming cleanser, so it may not have this effect for everyone.
This isn’t the worst cleanser I’ve used, but it’s still not for me. If you’re wanting to try it out I’d definitely recommend buying the pack of mini size products so that you can try out some of the rest of the range also – the night cream and rosehip oil are particularly amazing!
I was reading into rose hip oils and how great it is for your skin. I have combination skin with a couple pimple prone areas around my t-zone. I found my skin to be more balanced and to have improved incredibly by using this cleanser.
I found this cleanser to be gentle and quite hydrating. Did not dry out the skin like other cleansers do. The great this is natural as it does not contain any sulfurs or parabens. Great and gentle on the skin, yet I find removes my makeup well.
The gel formula means it wont foam up too much, so dont expect it to be all bubbly on your face. The only downside is that as it comes in a pump bottle and the formula is quite thick, you cant get most of the product left in the bottom of the bottle. I wish it came in a squeeze tube.
