My skin is NEVER and I repeat NEVER affected by products but this micellar water made my skin so red and hot!! I immediately put water on my face to get it off. Maybe I got a bad batch ? It smells nice is affordable and by other reviewers it seems to work well. Just really didn’t work for me !!

I brought this as it was on sale and cheaper than my normal one, however, it caused a reaction all over my face, including burning and I had to stop using it immediately. This made me sad as many friends have recommended this brand but it just didnt work for me. It would probably be amazing for someone who doesnt have sensitive skin.
I wanted to love this so much, I am trying to buy all cruelty free make-up so this was my answer rather than the garnier micellar.
however, it burnt my skin and caused my eyes to burn and red patches on my cheeks, I was not happy!
the scent is neutral and expected for this type of product
I also had to scrub at my eyes to remove mascara and gel eyeliner.
the bottle and packaging is lovely, I just wish this product lived up to expectations like their other products
Tips: do a test patch, I used a cotton pad with this but this product wasn't right for me!
Garnier was the first big bottle of micellar water I bought. I really liked it, it was handy and even my family liked using it. A big bottle lasted us a long time and we repurchased it a few times and it was a family favorite. But it did fall short in a couple areas, one was the smell and the other was a more personal thing and that is my love for natural products. With obvious natural ingredients in it I decided to try another brand - Essano. Essano's micellar water has lactic acid, aloe vera extract and rosehip seed oil. It also says that 99.05% of the total ingredients are of natural origin, 10.0% of the total ingredients are from organic farming. I don't find that hard to believe considering it's mainly water with a smidge of other ingredients. I did like the natural ingredients from organic farming. The price was good for the size of the bottle, the same 400ml bottle as Garnier and it smelt better than Garnier without having any added fragrance. Somehow though it didn't seem to live up to my expectations to be more amazing than Garnier. I used this to remove my makeup and it somehow seems a bit soapy for a micellar water. It leaves a bit of soap on my face and somehow manages to leave my skin feeling tingling within minutes and not in a good way, I have to rinse my face off with water soon after I use this or move on to the next cleansing step in my routine. But the worst thing about this micellar water, is that it really stings my eyes when I use it to remove my eye makeup. My eye makeup remover at the moment is oil based so I like to wipe off the oil after it has dissolved my eye makeup with micellar water. Any time I use this around my eye area my eyes sting and I need to rinse them. It don't know why considering this is supposed to sooth and is ph balanced, but since I don't like using micellar water that stings my face and especially my eyes. I won't be repurchasing this product. I will be using this bottle for cleaning my makeup brushes and the multiples suggested uses for micellar water.
Tips: If you bought this and it stings your face and eyes consider using it for your makeup brushes or spot cleaning your body with micellar water on a paper towel, like freshening up your armpits before reapplying deoderant in summer. This is the third different brand of micellar water that I have used. I first fell in love with the garnier one over a year ago and since then I've been wanting to try lots of other brands out to see who does it best.
This is a very affordable water. I paid under $10 for this big 400ml bottle. This size lasts me around 6 months of daily use, I only really use it to remove eye makeup though, not a full face of makeup. I imagine you would go through the product much quicker if you did that.
This comes in a bottle pretty much the exact same as the garnier version. Just the labelling and lid colour is different. I never feel safe with this kind of lid though, I always feel like it might pop open although it does click shut tightly. I would just prefer a screw lid.
This product looks exactly like water. When you shake it up though, it will bubble up. I feel like this has the tiniest hint of a rose scent? Barely anything though.
I use this by putting a small amount onto a cotton pad and wiping it over my eyes. It does work well at removing makeup but it also stings my eyes. I found with the garnier and loreal ones, my eyes would sting if I used too much product but even when I'm careful with this, I still get that sting. I feel like this must have more of a percentage of cleanser in it? I find that when you have it on the cotton pad and sort of rub it between your fingers, you kind of get a slippery soap feeling. It definitely doesn't feel like water anyway.
I will keep using this, mainly because I'm stubborn and hate throwing stuff away. I am thinking about using it to clean my brushes though to use it up a bit quicker. I wouldn't buy this one again, I'd definitely recommend the Garnier over this one.
I loved this when I first used it. It removed all my make up easily, it was a bit soapy but only if I rubbed to hard. It also has a really nice smell. Unfortunately that's where the good points end for me. It stung my eyes and after using for a few days my face was covered in bumps, not like acne more like an allergic reaction, they disappeared within a few days of stopping using the product. I will continue using it to clean brushes tho as it works really well for that
This was my first micellar water I'd ever bought and I was excited about it after seeing the micellar hype on BR. As a bonus, it was by an NZ brand and included yummy skin-loving ingredients like rosehip oil.
In terms of cleansing, this product does the job. The bottle says it does something like 200 washes. I'm dubious about this as I always needed several cotton pads with product to get all my makeup off - and I was only wearing BB cream.
Further, the formula was not right for my sensitive combination skin. As I continued to use it my skin became sensitised and finally broke out in dry patches.
I was going to give my sister the half empty bottle but after reading other reviews I'll keep it for washing my makeup brushes.
I'm known by my friends to love micellar water - I'm literally obsessed. So, of course when I saw this product on sale in Countdown months ago, I had to purchase it (even though I already had like 2 at home, lol)! Anyway, I love how this has both aloe and rosehip oil in the formula because of their beneficial properties for the skin.
However the hugest negative about this product is the fact that it goes sudsy like crazy. It's fine when you're just gently wiping across your face, but as soon as you start applying a bit of pressure in rubbing anywhere - BAM! Here come the suds! If it weren't for the soapiness and the stinging when it comes even close to your eyes, I might even choose this above Garnier's. Sadly, this is not case.
Overall, I do like this product, and it does a great job in cleansing. But the negatives are quite inconvenient at the best of times, and deeply aggravating at the worst. I will not be re-purchasing anytime soon unless Essano ends up fixing the formula so it's not so sudsy.
This product did what it says (brilliant at removing make up- very easy) however it made my skin very bumpy and slightly irritated. My skin did not feel nice afterwards at all. I have not used since. The packaging was clean and simple.
Tips: Use with cotton pads, will only require one.
I really love micellar water, I find it super convenient after a long day at work when I just want to flop into bed. It comes in a great size 400ml bottle which was only $10 on special, great price!
I like to use large make up remover pads, simply pour a small amount on then rub all over my face. Ouch! This stuff burns and stings my eyes so bad! I have not had this bad of a reaction to micellar water before.
It left my skin feeling red and angry and my eyes looked terrible. I don't know what is in this that caused such an irritation.
Sorry Essano but this product gets a huge thumbs down from me and I will stick to my trusty garnier micellar water.
