I love the packaging of this micellar water and the fact it looks pretty like all the other Essano products. However, on my bottle the lid broke (the top part of the lid didn’t completely come off though) so I never felt comfortable leaving it lying down in case it leaked. As a micellar water, it was easier and more convenient to use than cleanser. That being said, I needed at least a couple of cotton pads (sometimes 4-5!), so I found it was nicer to use on days when I either hadn’t worn makeup, in the morning before moisturiser, or before an actual cleanser. Even with all the cotton pads, the product boasts 200 uses - and to its credit it probably did last something near that! The product didn’t ‘sooth’ and I definitely needed moisturiser afterwards as it left my skin feeling a little dry. It also could sting my eyes sometimes, especially if I was removing a lot of heavy mascara. After I use up another micellar water that I have on the go, I'm not sure if I'll repurchase any micellar water again as it means going through lots of cotton pads. However, if you want to try a micellar water then this one is as good as any - it is definitely great for nights when you just can’t motivate yourself to do a full cleanse and lasts for ages with a very reasonable price point too.

Tips: If you are removing heavy makeup, start with the micellar water to remove most of the makeup & then follow up with an actual cleanser to remove the residue & save on cotton pads.
I picked up the Essano Micellar Water on a whim in the supermarket one night after the current micellar water I had been using had run out. With the variety of micellar waters available now I have been trying out the various brands to see if there was any I prefer.
I have previously tried several Essano skincare products and absolutely loved them, so had high hopes for this. It was packaged in a simplistic clear 400ml bottle which provided a lot of product, some of the other brands don't and this is a tick for me as I tend to wear a full face of makeup at work each day. My only gripe is that the bottle states 200 uses... that's two mls a use... who are they kidding?!
The formula itself had the standard micellar-water features with it's watery consistency. I applied it using a cotton pad which drunk it right up as expected. I then used a few of these to wipe away my makeup, but bearing in mind I do wear full-coverage foundation and Benefit's They're Real mascara which isn't exactly a 'one swipe to remove' product so others may use less. Essano's Micellar Water did remove my makeup easily BUT... ... it stung my skin like crazy! When removing my eye makeup, I had to wipe a makeup wipe over my eye after using the micellar water on it because it stung the sensitive skin around my eye. I don't have overly sensitive skin so I was extremely suprised that a product from a brand like Essano would react like that.
Clearly I won't be using this again (although I did try the bottle on a few occasions just to be sure it was still happening - silly me!). I'd recommend it to a friend to try for themselves because the product itself performed well, but I'd be sure to pre-warn them of my experience!
Tips: Might be worth avoiding for those with sensitive skin.
I have tried three different brands of micellar water (Garnier, L'Oreal, and Essano), and to be honest this Essano one is my least favourite. That's not to say that it's awful and doesn't work at all. It does a perfectly good job, but I have found that there are definitely better types of micellar water out there.
This product comes in a big bottle that looks nearly exactly the same as the Garnier micellar water. The only difference seems to be the colour of the lid. I bought this from Countdown on special for $9.69, which I thought was a great price since you get 400ml of product. It works out to be one of the cheapest micellar waters on the market in New Zealand, so that's definitely a big tick.
I use a round cotton pad with a little bit of micellar water on it to remove my makeup. I have found that it works best if the pad is damp, but not completely drenched.
One of my main problems with this micellar water is that it feels a bit soapy compared with other brands. I even put this product next to my other two micellar waters, and you could see that the Essano micellar water wasn't as clear as the others. It also bubbles a lot if you shake it. This soapiness caused issues whenever I went to remove my eye makeup. I have never had an issue with any other makeup removers around my eyes, but this one stung a little bit.
Another downside I have found is that I go through more cotton pads with this micellar water than any of the others I have tried. I need to use a lot of this product to effectively remove all of my makeup. But at the end of the day it does remove my makeup well and it leaves my face feeling cleansed/refreshed.
Overall this micellar water does what it is supposed to and it's great value for money. But it feels soapier than other brands, it stings my eyes, and you need to use more of this product than you would with other brands. I probably won't purchase this again but I'll continue to use it until it runs out. I think I'll end up using it to clean my brushes just so it runs out quicker.
Definitely not as harsh as other micellar waters I have tried, does the job without making my skin red raw. It's inexpensive and has skin loving ingredients, a winner in my books!
The makeup remover is pretty good but it doesn't leave your skin feeling soft or refreshed. It's not very expensive and it does remove foundation and eye makeup effectively but I found that I needed a moisturiser but the product itself felt quite natural to use.
Tips: Best used with cotton pads
...but not exceptionally so. I usually use them with cotton pads and I need 4 or 5 pads doused in the micellar water to remove all my make-up; I only use concealer for my face base. Even then, it doesn't really remove all traces of my eyeliner (leaves black smudges).
There's no smell, but it does sting the eyes a little if it gets into them. Also, if you rub your face too vigorously, the product gets a bit foamy, which is something I don't experience with other micellar waters. Also, it leaves my skin slightly tacky, but doesn't break me out.
Sometimes I just wipe my face with it in the morning and it seems to do a good job of cleaning bare skin and refreshing it. However, I probably won't repurchase as I'm sure there are better alternatives that removes make-up as effectively but with less product.
Tips: 1. Don't let it get too near your eyes, it might sting.
I have been using this generous bottle (400ml) of micellar make-up remover for over a year. It is lovely, gentle, and aesthetically pleasing, in a transparent bottle. I decant some onto a cotton pad then use the pad to wipe off my liquid lipstick, eyebrow pencil/gel, and some of my mascara. I say 'some' because I find this water to be next to ineffectual when it comes to eye make-up. The bottle doesn't claim to remove waterproof or gel formulas. I don't use it for these applications. It is uncomfortable when it leaks into my eyes but this is the same for most removers. That said, this product is all good for removing most cosmetics. I obviously find it okay or I wouldn't still be using it.
I picked this up after reading many reviews about it . I wear make up daily . I always reach for my micelllar waters when removing my make up . I have several layers of make up to take off .
Packaging I think is modern eye catching easy to identify amongst my other brands. Comes in a bottle . Consistency is liquid . I normally put in on a flannel and massage into my skin. Im trying to stay away from using cotton pads to stop making rubbish. It seems to lift my foundation and primer well. It even gets my eye liner off .
I’m happy with how well it worked on my skin. I’m glad I didn’t have any skin irritations. It’s priced fairly . One bottle can last me months with daily usage . I would buy it again . Definitely.
another product gifted to me, because lord knows i am stink and wont pay for a brand i dont think works for my skin. the bottle is a really good size for the price and lasts ages as i barely wear makeup - i also decant into a smaller bottle in the makeup room to have on hand if i sneeze while doing mascara.
it removes makeup but i dont think very well. i have used a cotton pad both sides and still have panda eyes, so i usually just wash my face after and it's gone. it didn't fully remove my foundation and it certainly tried (but failed) to remove a matte liquid lippy, and i looked like a very sad bobo the clown afterwards.
the smell i didnt really notice, but if it had one it was pleasant and didn't interfere, nor did it make my face breakout with pimples, but it did breakout in other ways and i wasn't too pleased about it. it's since been rehomed though.
for me, there are better products out there, but if you don't have weird sensitive lizards skin like i, then i do recommend giving this a whirl.
Its great for removing usual makeup but I had a bit of issues when removing waterproof mascara and Maybelline's super stay lipstick. I also didn't notice if the addition of rosehip made this anymore special in comparison to other micellar waters.
