I really enjoyed this product! It’s a relatively watery product (slightly thicker than water or a toning product) and I found it to be quite easy to apply. It says that you can use this with a cotton pad, however I found that spashing a little into clean hands before applying directly to my face worked a little more effectively and wasted less product. While not quite long enough yet to say if the effects are long-lasting, I found that my skins was more hydrated throughout the day when I used this product before my moisturiser, and looked brighter even under make-up. This lotion was comfortable to wear under moisturiser and full make-up, and I didn’t notice that the extra step/hydration added any extra oiliness to my (very combo) skin. Overall I really enjoyed this lotion and would definitely recommend!

Tips: I found this easier to apply by splashing a small amount into clean hands and patting directly onto my face. You could also use a cotton pad to apply this. Apply after your toner and before your moisturiser.
I'm going to start off this review by stating upfront that I wasn't entirely sure what this product was exactly but my guess is that it is similar to a toner. I could be living under a rock but I haven't come across anything with a similar name before so there was a slight bit of confusion to start off. There were no directions on the bottle and the name states it is a radiant energy lotion? That to me could mean many things? Anyway I went ahead and have been using in place of a toner. I would agree with the claims of hydration but it did nothing for my skin as far as improving radiance. The smell is nice, it left my face a little sticky feeling afterwards. Otherwise it wasn't really anything spectacular, I don't feel my skin is better off for using it for nearly two weeks now. The packaging is nice, a red bottle with silver lid and good quality as one would expect from this brand but the packaging is probably my favourite thing about this product overall. Definately be careful to avoid the eye area, it can burn a little in those sensitive areas.
This product is the same consistency as water, which makes it a bit hard to use. It kind of feels like a toner rather than a moisturising product but it doesn't claim to be a toner anywhere so it's a lil confusing. It's not moisturising enough to use it as your only form of moisturiser. Maybe if you were looking for a suuuuper lightweight moisturiser it could work alone. It does have a very nice smell tho, not overpowering at all. I guess a pomegranate scent?? Even though it feels like water it actually does seem to go quite far, you just need a few drops for your whole face. I feel like it would be easy to waste the product, because if you pour it on a cotton pad that will absorb a lot of the product, and if you pour it on your hand then it will run everywhere. I ended up pouring it directly on my face, pressing the opening of the bottle against my skin. The bottle it comes in is really nice though, and the lid is weighted and not cheap feeling at all. I think the product is definitely refreshing and does give a slight energising feeling for sure! I have oily skin that is also dehydrated and I get break outs. The product didn't break me out, it didnt make my skin any oilier than other products but it didnt make it less oily either. I will get my mum to try it next, as it might be more appropriate for more mature skin
Tips: Don't pour it into your hands, because its like water so it will go everywhere. Use a cotton pad or pour it directly onto your face instead
My skin is generally awful. It breaks out at the mere whiff of a scented product and don't get me started on "heavy" products.
I was naturally quite hesitant to try this range, but I was pleasantly surprised. They both smell amazing, the pomegranate smells delicious and intense, without being overpowering.
I applied the lotion with a cotton pad. I have honestly never used anything like it before so I was not sure what to expect, but it went on smoothly and made my face feel nourished and refreshed. The lotion is transparent and really 'liquidy' so you definitely need to use something to apply it with.
The packaging is very elegant and nice and bright which I like. In conjunction with the moisturiser, the lotion brightened my face, and it was noticeable the day after, with my face being significantly less oily.
I absolutely love the idea of giving my face a nutritious blast of energy and using these products made me feel really pampered.
Given the chance I would definitely purchase again.
Tips: Use in conjunction with the moisturiser for a double hit! I really feel like using them both in conjunction made a big difference to the results I saw with the products.
If the name of this product confuses you too, then we're on the same page. It seems the Estee Lauder marketing team have strung a line of words together that sound very appealing, but that can't easily be achieved. Labelling this a lotion is beyond my conception of a lotion as it feels far more like a spritz, or at the very most, a watery essence. I would struggle to pay the RRP, and as such, would not purchase myself, or recommend to a friend.
In saying all of that, this is a nice product to use when your skin is clean and you're about to layer on some moisturisers. I feel like it delivers a freshness to the skin and prepares it for other products to follow. Other than using it for a moisturising boost during the day, this is certainly no stand-alone product.
I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my skin absorbed the 'lotion' as it feels very watery to the touch. With a few pats though, it soaks in and leaves skin looking nicely dewy.
I'm not a huge fan of fragrance in my skincare as I think it's superfluous and often irritating. However, this one smells pleasant and the ingredients seem to be gentle enough not to sting or irritate my rather sensitive skin.
Overall, this is a nice product to have on hand, and I'll continue to use it, but it isn't one that I'll be rushing out to replace. It makes you feel fancy to use it and it's very much a luxury item; if you're in the mood to treat yourself, this might be just what you're looking for.
Tips: Keeping this in the fridge would be a great way to refresh your face on a hot summer's day!
I was very lucky to be picked by BR to review this product. Boy was i one happy girl when this arrived.. This is the first high end skin care i have ever tried and it didn't disappoint. The packaging is very simple, red bottle with silver writing and lid. On the bottom of the bottle it tells you to " pat on using fingertips or cotton pad, AM and PM. First night i decided to use my fingertips but found it quite awkward as it went every where so the following morning i used a cotton pad and that was so much easier and used a lot less product. This product reminds me a bit of the garnier micellar cleansing water in consistency and how you use it. I always washed my makeup off before applying this. This defiantly kept my skin hydrated, It was lightweight and refreshing. My skin in winter can get really flaky and dry, i found this lotion really helped and my foundation went on smoother because of it! If you have dry skin i highly recommend buying this.
Tips: Use cotton pad
I was very impressed with the Estée Lauder nutritious radiant vitality energy lotion, there is so much to love about it. Starting with the packaging; this range is packaged in a simple, yet classy red glass-like container with silver caps, to be expected of a higher end brand. This product is a liquid, so is in a bottle with a screw top lid. When you take the lid off there is a cap at the top of the bottle with a small hole in to allow just the right amount of product out at a time. Being a clear water like consistency, I applied the lotion using a cotton pad after washing my face. I was very impressed how fresh it made my skin feel as I applied it. It felt very cooling and made my skin feel even cleaner. I was impressed with how hydrating it was as it didn’t suck the moisture out of my face and make my skin dry out, as other products I have used in the past have done. The lotion has a very pleasant scent, almost florally, which for me is important if it is going on your face. The only downfall for me was that there were no directions or guidelines on the bottle so I had to search online to see exactly how to use it. But I imagine there would be directions on the box or outer packaging when purchasing. Overall I was very happy with how the lotion worked for my skin, I loved the clean and hydrated feeling my face had after application. I can’t fault the product at all. The price point is high, but consistent with the Estée Lauder brand, and I do think it is worth the investment for great skin. I would definitely consider repurchasing in the future.
Tips: I found applying with a cotton pad was the easiest way.
Just as a bit of background on my skin type, I vary between normal/combination/oily depending on a number of factors. I'm 25 years old, but still prone to the occasional breakout.
This product comes in a large red bottle with a silver lid that definitely looks expensive. There is 200 ml of product and it retails for $87. The only instructions for this product were found on the bottom of the bottle and just says "Pat on using fingertips or cotton pad - AM and PM". Under the lid there's a small hole so you can dispense the product. The scent of this product is nice and fresh, although I did find there was a bit of an alcohol smell to it but it didn't linger once absorbed into the skin.
When I first went to use this product I was a bit confused. It's called a lotion but it has the exact same consistency as water. It doesn't seem to be a lotion at all, and if anything I would describe it as a toner. I found that applying it with a cotton pad wasted too much product. I decided that the best way to apply it was to put a small amount in the palm of my hand, bring my face to my palm, spread it around and allow it to absorb. After that I would apply the matching moisturiser.
This product claims it's meant to deeply hydrate and infuse the skin with moisture, but I unfortunately didn't find this to be the case at all. In fact my face felt dry and tight after using this product, which is strange because I'm usually more prone to oiliness. I used this product for just over a week before I decided to take a break to see if it was definitely this product causing my skin to react this way. I found my skin was no longer dry after I stopped using this product and only used the matching moisturiser.
I looked into what ingredients were in this product as it wasn't displayed on the bottle. Although it contains a number of antioxidants, the second largest ingredient in this product is alcohol which is a major cause of dryness when used in high amounts.
Overall I can't recommend this product as it doesn't "deeply hydrate" like it claims, it contains too much alcohol, and at $87 it is on the pricey side.
When I first saw this I literally thought "what even is this?!". I've come across different names of products in the past, and because of the consistency of it I assumed it would be used as a toner. Honestly didn't have much instructions on how or what to use it as, but decided life is too short to worry over it because it's gonna be slathered on my face anyway!
It has a screw-on cap which, again, like I stated in my gel emulson review, I'd have preferred one that just popped open due to accessibility. When you pour it out, it mostly just drips down sort of messily, so make sure you've either got your cotton pad or palm ready to catch all the product.
So the consistency is basically like water which is perfect as the first step in your skincare routine (after cleansing, of course!). I liked to generously pour a coin-sized amount into my palm, rub my hands together, then pat it all over my face so my skin can absorb it better. It dried down seamlessly, and left my face feeling smooth and hydrated.
The smell is very, very faint. If you compare the scents between this product and the gel emulsion with the emulsion at 80% power, then this product would be about 10% in strength. The smell is barely there which I think is a great thing since toners prep your skin and shouldn't smell too strongly.
In the two weeks I've used this product, I had unfortunately started seeing random whiteheads and milia pop up which was a tad disheartening due to my initial and instant liking of the 'lotion'. I also noticed that my face, especially my forehead, got shinier and oilier than usual, like literal natural highlight, and not the good kind either. I don't believe it gave me a "glow" nor a look of "radiant vitality" - it's basically your run-of-the-mill toner (except hugely more expensive).
In conclusion, I would not go out and purchase this, as I believe there are far cheaper alternatives that are more effective in keeping your skin hydrated while not causing any breakouts. Due to my reaction I would not continue using this, or if I do, I'd probably just use it on my arms rather than my face.
Tips: just pour it onto your hands and pat it straight into your face to save cotton pads and for better absorption!
This product has a luxurious pomegranate fragrance consistent in this range.
Almost like a high end micellar water. Leaves the skin feeling youthful, refreshed and hydrated with a plumping effect.
The packaging is gorgeous and very generous in size.
Most likely apealing to younger women who like a dewy and glowy natural look.
Has a high end feel with a high end price. At around $80 per bottle and sold at most high end beauty department stores, it is not the most afordable but does feel amazing on the skin.
Tips: Best used as a duo with it's sister creme in the pomegranite nutritious range.
I found using a cotton pad to apply to the skin works with this product best.
