Good for summer

This gel-cream has a semi-translucent texture and is cooling to apply. It spreads easily and refreshes the skin with moisture. It has a fresh, fruity scent that dissipates eventually. This product left my skin feeling very plump, but it also leaves a bit of a tacky layer on the skin, which I personally don't mind. The light texture means you can use it underneath your daily sunscreen without it feeling heavy.

I don't think it would be moisturising enough for dry skin, but it would suit normal-oily skin, especially in hotter weather as it is very refreshing.

Lightweight moisturiser for refreshed skin

I was lucky enough to be selected in the trial team for this product alongside the Radiant Energy Lotion. The first thing I noticed about this product was the packaging. As I have also noticed with other Estee Lauder products is that while the jar is quite big, there is a lot of plastic. This creates an illusion that there may be a lot of product inside but it actually doesn't hold a lot which is disappointing for the price tag. I used this product as a moisturiser after using the energy lotion as a toner. It had quite a thin, watery consistency which I was expecting given it uses the word "water" in the description. It glides on really easily and I only needed to use a small amount to cover my whole face. It has a very pleasant, sweet scent and feels gentle on the skin. It absorbs well, leaving the skin well moisturised. I can't say I noticed my skin looking any more radiant than usual, but I do think this product is really nice as a light day cream. I am looking forward to seeing if there are any long term benefits from using this product.

Beautiful product but not for oily skin

This product is a beautiful, thick creamy product that smells divine. It smells like fresh pomegranate. A little goes a very long way so it would last a long time. It feels lovely and luxurious when applied to the skin. I have oily skin that's prone to nasty breakouts and unfortunately my skin just did not like this formula. I found that my skin became greasy when using this and started to break out. I was definitely radiant, so much so that I was very shiney and my makeup broke up. I stopped use and gave it to a friend with normal skin and she loved it, it definitely gave her a lovely dewy glow when used along with the Energy Lotion as a duo.

Tips: I would steer clear of this one if you have oily skin like me but if you have normal to dry skin and suffer dull skin it's a beautiful product that definitely gives a radiant glow.

Thick and Luxurious

I have not had much experience with Estee Lauder, but was excited to try some more products - especially skin care products.

This product is a generous size, and will last a long time. A little goes a long way so I am sure I will still be using this product for a while longer.

The consistency of the gel is quite thick, so you don't need a lot. When I first started with this product I used too much and my skin felt a little weighed down. It has a nice citrus smell which helps in creating a luxurious experience when using this gel.

This gel has helped in hydrating my skin. However I have noticed some minor breakouts at an unusual rate. This could be related to this product, or could just be a coincidence. I would definitely recommend this product for someone with dry skin, as this heavy duty product with boost that soothing hydration.

I have been pleasantly surprised but wouldn't rush to purchase this myself.

Good, but not great

I think what I really loved the most about this product was that it looks exactly how it's described. Gel emulsion. It's super lightweight in terms of consistency - it truly does feel like what you'd imagine a gel emulsion to be. It smells so nice, like a faint, fruity, slightly artificial, fresh, pomegranate scent, but not the nauseating, overly-fake kind. And it sinks SO well into the skin! Once it dries down it's not sticky or goopy, your skin just feels smooth and hydrated.

The packaging itself is quite a sturdy plastic casing which looks deceptively like glass. I love how the lid is reflective and acts as a compact mirror, so if you're ever using this on the go and forget your hand mirror then this can double up as one. It's a screw-on lid which I don't particularly like, only because of the ease of access - I would rather have had it just pop off. Onto the inside, upon unscrewing the lid, you'll open to find a flat-top cover with a kind of tongue flap (HA). I actually really like this as it's definitely more hygienic and you can basically use the underside of the lid as a spatula.

In terms of what it proclaims to do, I'm not sure how much it detoxified my skin. Generally, my skin looked about the same after nearly 2 weeks of use, except sadly I did manage to get a smattering of closed comedones around the top of my brows and left temple, and random milia popping up especially around the sides of nostrils. Nothing hella major, but enough to be bummed about since my skin (using my usual skincare routine) is relatively acne-free. Other than those areas, the rest of my face stayed pretty much clear, and smooth - though I did notice my forehead get quite oily by the end of the day.

Overall, would I use it again? Yes. But I'd probably incorporate my other usual skincare products too. Would I go out to actually re-purchase this? It's a no from me. Only because it's ridiculously expensive, and there are plenty more products out there that are infinitely cheaper and effective.

Tips: use the inner lid as a spatula!

Disappointed

This gel emulsion was great in the morning as it was light weighted. But the great thing of this product stopped there. It was too sticky and I felt like my skin didn’t absorb it thoroughly but rather the gel emulsion was being a “barrier” between my skin and the product thereafter (often being my sunscreen). This gel emulsion; though; somehow was a great primer (in a way) for my face.

After giving this product 5 nights(!) I decided that this was definitely not for PM. Similar to lotion, you can’t layer this for spots where you want extra moisture. It doesn’t even feel all “absorbed” into my skin which should be really easy for gel type lotions anyways.

Tips: Use this at the last step of your skincare regime in the morning (right before the sunscreen) and because it's sticky and doesn't get absorbed into your skin, this somehow becomes a good primer...
