I was lucky enough to win this. The Oil is very light and luxurious. Unfortuantely it's not enough for my very very dry skin at the minute. I had topped this of with my normal moisteriser and it still didn't do much and seemed to just sit on the skin rather than skin in like my other oils.
I'll give this another go and perhaps try it on my hands as opposed to my face but unfortunately it was a miss for me.
I've tried rosehip oil with extra vitamin C before and I didn't like it at all. It was too heavy for my skin and it gave me break outs; all round a bad experience. So I was hoping this oil would give me a glimpse into why so many others were in love with rosehip oil. And I'm very happy to have tried it.
My skin is combination but the biggest issue I have is very dry/sensitive spots. This oil was light enough that it didn't make my more oily patches any more oily, and in a week of using it the dry and cracking patches on my upper brow healed completely. I use 2 drops on my fingertips and apply to my face nightly after cleansing. Each morning after using it I'm always feeling fresh faced and my skin feels so soft it makes me think "see this is what skin is meant to be". I did have 2 really deep and sore zits after using this oil, but I'm not sure whether it was just my skin getting used to it, or something else entirely. But I haven't had any more since.
All up I really like this fresh smelling oil, it balances out my skin and helps me heal. That said, it's not a miracle product, but I don't think anything really is. Definitely has redeemed rosehip oil for me at least.
Tips: P.s. it does seem very expensive, but given you use literally a few drops a night, it'll last long enough to be worth it.
I have used multiple rose hip oils in the past (Trilogy and Olive), and I have to say from the first use I actually like this one the best. It has a very refreshing smell, not as strong and heavy smelling as the others. I also feel like the oil isn't as heavy as the others, my hands aren't left sticky after use. It soaks into the skin really well and feels good to massage in. My favourite part about this is definitely the tangyness it has to it. I believe it's the kiwifruit seed. My skin feels so good after wards and it evens out my skin tone after consistent use. I prefer using this over a moisturizer. You don't need much at all to cover the face either.
I love the packaging it looks environmentally caring, and also like a nurturing natural product. It claims to reduce lines and scars, softens and smooths, 100% natural blend. I love natural products!! Upon opening, it had actually leaked, which is immediately forgiven when I found a $20 evolu voucher inside!! The smell is divine, a heavenly holistic smell. I don't like rosehip oil on my skin as it makes me break out and I never break out. But this is quite a different oil, it feels warm light, hydrating and deeply nourishing, not heavy or clogging. It absorbs quickly in about 1-2 minutes I used my moisturizer over the top, its fine under makeup not oily. I preferred to use it at night though as I'm in a rush in the mornings. It Gives a lovely youthful glow to skin
Tips: Great to massage on tummy in pregnancy for stretch marks or for cesarean scar
I was lucky enough to receive a bottle to trial - thanks, BR! I have incredibly dry, sensitive skin so I love face oils.
The first thing I noticed was the smell wasn't over powering, and that's very important to me, I don't usually like the smell or the yellow colour of rosehip normally, so don't really buy it, so what I love about this combo of ingredients is it helps balance out the smell, colour and greasiness.
It felt moisturising and nourishing, and not greasy, and absorbed quickly. You couldn't put makeup over it, but it would be great to use before bed.
At $30 for 30ml it's reasonable value for money, especially considering the ingredients.
Tips: Would recommend to Apply after cleansing, before bed
I received this product as product from Beauty Review (Thank you!!). But I'm sorry to say that this is not a product that I really enjoyed. THe first thing that I noticed with this product that it was leaking when I received it. This makes me worried that if I took this product in my toilet bag it might leak all through my belongings.
The second thing I noticed, is the insanely strong smell. I have been a fan of other Rosehip Oils in the past, but none of them have smelled like this! Maybe it's due to the "and Friends" part of the name. It is a thin oil, which on average I only used 3-4 drops, depending on if I was layering it down to my neck/decolletage. I did like that I didn't have to use a lot, as it means the bottle would be good value for money. I used this under a moisturiser day and night. I am pleased to report that this product did not break me out, which I do worry about as my skin leans towards the combination side. In the past I've noticed that oil based products have really balanced my skin, but I haven't used this product enough to say if I'll get the same results with this product.
So overall, a mixed bag - if this product had a less strong smell I would be giving it a much higher rating.
Tips: Start with 2-3 drops in the palm of your hand - you can always apply more if you need. My first few applications had way too much.
It can be used under a moisturiser, but some people may prefer to wear it just on it's own.
The Evolu Rosehip and Friends is an amazing oil for giving you fresh, awake, luminous skin and i noticed a difference almost instantly! While I would never consider dullness to be my main skin concern, I did find my skin sometimes looked a little tired and this oil literally saved the day. My skin feels so plump and bright after using this oil which is amazing that I noticed such a difference when it was something i didnt even think i needed. To me that proves this oil can be used by basically everyone. The smell is very subtle and refreshing, its made in NZ and not tested on animals which are huge ticks from me. Also not to mention the simple but luxurious packaging to compliment the amazing product that it contains. I ticked 3/5 to if i would use this product again, because while i really have loved what its done for my skin, this oil wouldn't be an everynight thing for me because like i said above dullness isnt my primary concern and in the future i think i will use it as a top up to boost my complexions brightness rather than me needing daily like others would. All in all this is a great oil and i think those who have dull, tired skin will love it and even those looking for an oil to alternate with like myself, its going to work wonders too.
Tips: While it says to apply 2-3 drops to cleansed skin I found it easier to apply 4-5 drops to cleansed but slightly damp skin as it spread easier.(I am a person who loves to slaver products all over my face)
This came in minimal packaging, I love that it had information inside on how to join their club and get rewards off your next purchase. The bottle was easy to open and appealing to the eye. I loved the smell of the oil and it was a good colour. I'm still currently using it on a scar and on my facell under my moisturiser, so far my skin seems smoother and soft. I would definitely recomend this to others to use
Tips: A little goes a long way, also be prepared wheb you open the bottle as the oil seems to drip frely out of the dropper
I am prone to combination/oily skin so what a little dubious using an oil on my face however was really impressed. I only needed a couple of drops (so a little goes a long way) after a shower at night and it spread smoothly over my skin I really like its certified organic, and isn't heavily fragranced. It was quickly absorbed and didn't leave me feeling tacky and oily. My skin felt much smoother and nourished after using this product nightly for a fortnight.
So i've used rosehip oil before and was so surprised when I used this and my skin went crazy. I usually have very oily skin and rarely do I ever get dry or flakey skin. I went by the directions by putting a few drops on my finger tips and applied it all over my face. It felt fine and didn't have a reaction at all after applying it but waking up the next morning I felt that my face was extremely dry, slightly itchy and specifically around my eyes and eyelid did skin start peeling and flaking away. I was so confused and the only thing I could pin point it down to was this. 4 days later and it's still dry and honestly, regret using this. I'm not sure if it's simply a bad reaction to my skin which is why I would maybe still recommend it to other people but for me it was so so bad. I'm not even too sure why it had done that since the consistency and everything felt the same as other rosehip oils I have used.
