Evolu Smoothing Body Lotion Review

I received this in the smaller 30ml size. Great for taking with you on the go. It has your basic packaging for these types of products, just a squeezy tube with a screw on lid.

Let me preface my review by saying I'm not a huge fan of body lotions. I don't use them all the time, but every now and then I use them when I feel like it.

This one says that it is smoothing. I kinda feel like this is a silly claim as of course any cream or lotion feels smooth when you put it on! It also says that it promotes healthy circulation, but of course it does - anything you rub into your skin is going to do that. The scent doesn't actually do anything for me either. To me it is a wee bit aniseed/licorice smelling. The reason that I'm not a big fan of lotions is that I hate the feeling of waiting for something to sink in and feeling all sticky. This is not an exception to that rule and I found it sticking around on my skin for a long time despite the fact that it claims to have no oily after-feel. However in saying that my skin did feel nicely moisturised for a decent amount of time after use.

I'm sorry for such a negative review, perhaps the more dry skinned babes out their will love this product!

The body lotion is a New Zealand made product and doesn't have nasty chemicals, so I was very excited to give this a go. It comes in a large plastic squeeze bottle (the upside down kind) and it's a very hefty bottle - you definitely get value for money in this product.

The lotion is white in colour, and while it is an Avocado/Lime/Lemon/NZ Kanuka scent, I only picked up a plasticky one (although it is a light scent as advertised and it's not overpowering). I can sort of pick up the citrus scent if I close my eyes, but the scent wasn't my favourite. I'd love to see a clean scent that is more identifiable, as I didn't think the scent matched the description.

The lotion is on the thicker side, but it applies easily and smoothly. It also absorbs quickly too which is nice. I liked using it best after the shower, as the texture is nice and it's easy to smooth out on the skin, though I found it a bit heavy for use just on the hands, so I'd say it's definitely designed for the body (as described on the packaging).

I was interested to see how well it would work on my elbows and heels (as advertised) but while I felt moisturised in the moment, I didn't notice any improvement over a two week period. It does leave the skin feeling moisturised in the moment but I wish I had better results over time.

It is cool to the touch, so I can see how nice it would feel after a long hot day in the sun. For me, I am on the hunt for something that will help improve my skin over time.

This is probably the only Evolu product I have used so I didn't have any particular expectations of the brand.

I was however expecting a 'divine natural scent' as the advertising/packaging claims. Instead, the scent is something plasticky with a slight hint of lime. Other than moisterising, I use body lotions in large part due to the scent. This is why that is a major factor in how I rated the product.

The moisterising aspect itself is pretty decent: It does soften the skin without leaving an oily residue. It absorbs rapidly too. This particular quality also makes it a good choice as a hand cream where you need to be able to touch other surfaces after using a hand cream, without leaving marks behind.

The packaging itself for the cream is an easy to use squeeze tube. It is ideal for when you are travelling as, unlike hand pumped dispensers, you don't run the risk of the product leaking.

The exterior box design looks modern and 'clean'.

I was lucky to get this trial and thank you very much beauty review. Before I start my thoughts for this body lotion, I would like to mention what my preference for body lotions or what I like. Personally I like fragrance free lotion ( natural smell should be fine or if it is performance wise good than I don't mine smell), absorbs quick, when u apply feel so nice and silky smooth skin.

I like the packaging because you can throw this tube style packaging in your bag and very easy to travel with instead of pump style ( I would prefer pump style packaging in home). Body lotion smells nice natural ingredients but not pleasantly smell. So I am confused do I like it or not. It doesn't absorbs quick as like my other body lotions which I using currently. I have to rub rub to absorb in my skin which is not my preference because I don't have time for that in morning specially when you are busy in morning time. After applying lotion I didn't feel silky smooth skin at all.

One thing I like it about this brand they mention on the tube is lotion is ph balanced some of brand don't do that. Very appreciated for that. Yes o agreed with that my skin feel hydrated. Personally I like it and I will finish it because it has all natural ingredients in it. But I would not spend 29$ for lotion because it didn't gave me " wow factor "

I am a big Evolu fan, so I was expecting great things when I tried this moisturiser. On the positive side, the product is full of great ingredients, a little went a long way and 24 hours after use I can still feel the difference in my skin. On the downside I was not a fan of the scent (it reminded me of something. What, I couldn't quite put my finger on, but something slightly clinical) and I found the lotion hard to rub in and not right for my skin. Some people like rich lotions like body butters, others like lighter more oil-based lotions. I am firmly in the second camp. Therefore this moisturiser, that promises not to leave an oily after-feel, was clearly not for me and my skin. I'm glad I've tried it, and my legs do feel better for it, but this is not the moisturiser for me.

This smoothing lotion comes in a typical tube that you get hand creams and lotions in. It is a generous 200ml size but at $30.00 I feel the price is quite high.

I cant for the life of me put my finger on the fragrance, it isnt one of my favourites.

I found it quite hard work to rub in, it was a bit sticky and just didnt feel all that good.

I think it is really all about time, we never seem to have enough and then having to spend ages trying to get a lotion to absorb makes me think there are better options out there.

I have never heard of or used the Evolu brand before. I was very pleased to notice it was made in NZ without any nasties in it. The packaging is very cute and fitting for the brand with soft and relaxing tones. The product is a thicker kind of texture. Reminded me of a sunscreen. I used this daily on my heels, feet and hands. It did feel somewhat hydrating. My skin felt smooth afterward and not at all tacky. Over time I didnt feel like it reduced the dryness or cracks I have on my heels, although a couple of weeks isn't too long to judge. I tried to use it on my legs and arms a few times but it seemed to be a bit too thick, it wouldn't move too far or spread too easily and I just ended reverting back to my usual moisturiser for arms and legs. This product didn't wow me nor did I dislike it. To be fair it says to use it after sun exposure which I didn't really have a chance to continuously take advantage of, I do feel that it would be a very ideal formula for post sun exposure and it could have perhaps changed my perspective. I believe there are better moisturisers out there and this is not something I would rush out to buy again.

First of all, I LOVE the scent of this body moisturiser. It smells like lemon and lime with a hint of floral. It's very fresh and even seems to linger for a while.

After using it mostly every day for the last 2 weeks, I can confidently say that this moisturiser isn't anything special. In saying that, it's a great product - it does its job well, it just doesn't make me want to go out and buy more. Although, because of its unique scent, I'm very happy to use the rest of the bottle up.

When applying it, the moisturiser turns quite thick and white, and takes a while to rub in. This is my biggest complaint about it, however it doesn't leave a greasy feeling once applied, so that is a bonus.

My skin stays smooth all day after applying the cream, so it definitely does its job - it just could be better. I would like it if my skin felt even smoother upon application, but that might just be personal preference.

If you enjoy a light moisturiser that smells amazing, and you don't mind spending a bit of extra time rubbing it in, then this one might be for you. It's also made with natural ingredients which is great!

Personally, I enjoy a thicker moisturiser which doesn't take too long to rub in, and that leaves my skin feeling very smooth. I didn't dislike this, it just wasn't my favourite. However I will enjoy using the rest of the bottle :)

I am undecided if I like this product or not. My skin feels great, which I guess was the end result I wanted to see, I'm just not sure that the body lotion is one I'd use again. First off, it's a nice size "upside down" tube so you will get to use all the product rather than leaving the last cm behind when you get to the end. The lotion is quite thick, the first time I used it, i was quite generous with the amount that was squeezed out, and I ended up having to wash it off and start again, after 5 minutes of rubbing it in, I still had a thick greasy layer. So on the second go with a tiny amount, it was still quite hard to rub in, but once I had it didn't leave a greasy residue that you get from some creams so that is a bonus. The fragrance was a bit off, not sure if it was the combination of things, or it didn't work with my skin. I will continue to use it though, as my skin is silky smooth at the moment, which I can attribute to using this lotion daily. SO if you don't mind the fragrance, and doing a lot of rubbing (remember don't squeeze out too much) it's probably worth it.
