Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum

It didn’t work for me. I wanted to see if I could use it instead of Benzac AC to control my PCOS acne but it didn’t work. My acne came back. I tried it for over a month. It also left my face looking very shiny.

leaves my skin feel cleansed at a deep level and then appears to be silky and smooth! i love that it doesnt dry out my skin as part of the cleansing process.

I was selected to trial the Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum.

The product arrived just as I arrived home from 2 weeks in Fiji. Timing worked out quite well, as I came home with a bit of a break out of pimples. I'm not sure if it was the tropical heat, or the over-indulging while on holiday, but it's the worst my skin has been since I was a teenager.

Straight away I began using this in the hopes it would tackle my pimples.

It stung a little bit when applied because I had a bit of dryness - but certainly nothing unbearable. It soaked into my skin quickly and once rubbed in, you could see a slight tinge of black from the charcoal.

After using it for about a week, I noticed a very very slight improvement. I was hoping that it would have made much more of a difference.

I continued to use it, and I feel that it might have helped a little - but I have used store-bought products in the past that are a lot more fast-acting for pimples.

Not bad, but if I were to break out again, I'd be buying something else - this was just too slow for me.

Left my face feeling quite dry and was used alot more then was suggested as i found it hard to spread .It did remove blemishes really well

I enjoyed using this serum, but there are other serums I would choose over this one. It has a very masculine/unisex smell and I just couldn’t get past it. It is a very tacky formula and slightly foams up when applying on the skin and takes a while to dry down. It doesn’t feel like other serums I’m used to using, overall it is a good serum my husband really liked using it I think this is better as a male product. I didn’t notice any difference in my skin texture, redness or oiliness while using this. But I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and my skin is abit wild at the moment

This serum was a really pleasant surprise. I admit to considering Garnier a bit of a 'teen brand', and I wouldn't consider them for anti-ageing/mature skin needs. To quote Baby's father..."When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong."

After just a few weeks of consistent use, I have noticed a remarkable transformation in the texture and clarity of my complexion.

My inner goth loves the black formulation - it just looks cool. I use 2 droppers for my face and neck, I have a moon face to be fair. It absorbs well and there's no greasy aftermath. It's a bit watery but not messy.

I also appreciate that it doesn't cause any dryness or irritation, unlike some other AHA BHA products I've tried in the past. My skin feels balanced and hydrated throughout the day, with no tightness or discomfort.

Another aspect I love about the Garnier AHA BHA Serum is its versatility. I've found it to be a great multitasker, addressing multiple skin concerns simultaneously. It has improved the overall brightness of my complexion, reducing dullness and giving my skin a healthy glow. Additionally, it has helped to even out my skin tone, minimizing the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation issues. The serum's gentle exfoliating action has also contributed to a reduction in the size of my pores, resulting in a more refined and smooth appearance.

The packaging of this serum is practical and user-friendly. The sleek bottle with a convenient dropper dispenser ensures easy application and prevents wastage. You can also see how much you've used - I'm about 2/3s through the bottle, so all up I'll probably get 6-8 weeks out of this. If you don't have a big face you'll get more.

I can rave about this to the cow's come home, but I need to address the one negative. The scent/fragrance. It is so strong and reminds me of a teenage boy let loose with body spray. It's so overwhelming and I can't say I'm used to it 4 weeks in.

But if you can handle the teen fragrance, this is well worth checking out!

I was hesitant yet curious about this product, as it's black from the charcoal I was concerned it would leave a tint or hue using it for daytime use however I quickly found out I needn't have worried as it not only doesnt leave a hue, it soaks in quickly and the scent and texture are both really good. After a month I have noticed redness diminished. The 3 hero skincare ingredients delivered targeted treatment to my oily acne prone skin, leaving it matte in texture and clear of blemishes.

I like this serum it’s light and smells nice. It’s quite strange to put a black serum on your skin but it disappears instantly and soaks into skin nicely without feeling heavy or sticky. It’s helping with my acne along my jawline so will continue to use the entire bottle as it’s working for me

I have always been a fan of charcoal as an ingredient for skincare as it has purifying properties which i think is great for acne prone skin. I like they way it left my skin very soft after each use and did notice that my pores were less visible .I was a bit scared when I saw the colour of the serum but quickly realised there is no black residue on the skin as the serum absorbs into the skin really quickly. Acne seemed quite calmed down with no major breakout whilst using the product which is great.

The Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum works wonders. I would say it took about three days before I noticed a difference but my skin absolutely looked smoother, I had some chin blemishes that just would not go away which had already begun to shrink and fade and my skin was glowing and healthy. When you first apply the Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum, it has a bit of tack to it, so definitely make sure you have enough time to let it settle into your skin before you attempt to apply makeup (I was running late one morning and applied my foundation while it was still tacky which resulted in my foundation not applying properly). A little definitely goes a long way, just make sure you smooth it in to your skin properly otherwise you will have a slight grey/black tinge to your skin. The pores on my nose have always been a concern for me and I really have to get close to a mirror now to even see them, so for that alone I would highly recommend the Garnier Skin Active AHA + BHA Charcoal Anti-Imperfection Serum, however, I am also extremely impressed that my blemishes that had been sticking around for months, FINALLY disappeared.
