Garnier Cryo Jelly Sheet Mask

I'm not the biggest fan of sheet masks but I'm always keen to try something new.

So this one comes in a 50% paper-based sachet which is great and it opened easily from tearing the perforation. The mask came out in a complete soggy ball of slime and I really struggled to open it out and thought that it was going to be a dismal failure. But once it was open it just slid onto my face and settled into place. What a surprise! It was absolutely refreshing and cooling. The mask didn't stay slimy on my face which was interesting. I had already used all the excess jelly on my neck and hands, but the mask itself dried out more than any other face mask I've tried. It felt so nice and when I took it off, my face did appear fresher. It still feels quite hydrated for some time afterwards.

The product claim is that the mask cools skin’s temperature by -7°C* and instantly minimises signs of fatigue. I'd say that is a fair claim. It also claims to firm skin and provide a layer of moisture. Again, I believe it meets this claim. It is one of the better face masks I've used.

There are many other things to like about it as well, including that it is vegan, cruelty free, biodegradable and made in a carbon neutral factory. Anything that aims to reduce our footprint on the planet and avoids harm to living things is a plus in my book.

I like this mask and recommend it to others to try.

I also tried the jelly eye masks and they were equally good - very cooling and firming around my eyes.

Wow I really liked this facemask. When I first put it on the gel felt hydrating and lush, within minutes I felt the cooling sensation start (after a mild panic I was reacting but realised it was the cooling!) I loved the feeling. It stayed cooling throughout the period it said to wear it for on the packet (15mins) after taking it off and rubbing it in my face feels soft, clean and hydrated with no sticky residue that some of these masks have. I loved this one

Love love this sheet mask!

Comes saturated with glycerin, hyaluronic acid and menthol. Find a quiet spot and chill out with this mask you won't regret it. The menthol provides the cooling effect and it truly does deliver as I nearly fell asleep. My skin felt very hydrated and smooth, I didn't need any moisturizer afterwards and used some of the excess on my neck and decolletage. The instructions say to leave on for 15 minutes but I always leave them on for longer. There is left over product in the sachet that can be used another day.

As this mask is cooling I can see this being a favourite over summer.

I really enjoyed trialing this product from Garnier. Firstly, it certainly did exactly as advertised. It was definitely cooling on the skin (perhaps a little too cooling for the winter time! It would be lovely in the summer) and it left my skin feeling extremely hydrated and plump.

I found the mask a little tricky to apply (in hindsight I should have done it in-front of a mirror!) but thankfully my husband was there to help me get it sorted. I did find the eye holes were a little small, and it felt like some of the jelly could slip into my eye at any moment! It didn't though :)

I enjoyed the smell. It was pleasant without being overpowering.

I wasn't the hugest fan of the feel of a sheet mask (I think it was because it sat too close to my eyes), but I would definitely be interested to use this exact product in a face mask form, where you can apply a thick layer to your skin and then wipe it off.

I absolutely loved the face that it was home compostable! I could throw it straight in our compost when I was done.... amazing!!

Overall, although It wasn't the most comfortable sheet mask ever, I would use it again to get the hydrating benefits. I can also imagine this mask being really nice to use in the summer-time, and if you are sick with a fever!

The mask was nice and cooling, but I'm not sure it firmed up my skin. It did feel softer though. It does say after 4 weeks skin will look smoother, plumped and healthier, so perhaps if you used them weekly you would see better results than just after 1 use.

The harsh winter conditions and constant heater always means my skin can feel tight and dry, so this face mask came at the right time. I liked that it was vegan and that the sheet itself was biodegradable, which makes me feel less guilty. Putting it on felt icy, just like it claims, and size-wise fit me just fine. I did feel instantly hydrated but didn't feel like it lasted longer than a day. Would still recommend to give it a go.

I absolutely love this mask. I didn't think I would, I mean I like sheet masks, but more as a pampering treat than a treatment. This mask is like going to the salon and having a facial, the results are that good!

So it's your usual sheet mask in terms of packaging and unpeeling. I was expecting this to be, I don't know, silicone-y maybe, but it's just your usual sheet mask. Although it is absolutely slathered in product. More than any sheet mask I've used!

It sits well on the face, doesn't slide. It is INSTANTLY cooling.

I used the excess product that was on my hands and in the packet on my neck and decollatage.

15 minutes went far too fast!

Once I'd removed it, I patted the excess into my skin and went about my evening. When I woke I couldn't believe how smooth and soft my skin was with no sign of dryness. My makeup glided on. I think the positive impacts of this mask lasted four days before my skin started to feel like its usual self again, aka, dry!

This will be a go-to skin treat in the summer for sure - it really is cooling and soothing and refreshing!

Sheet masks. Single use packaging. Single use product. They kind of go against what I try to aspire to buy. So imagine my disappointment that I LOVE this hahahaha.

Unpeeling the mask was sticky but kind of fun. Applying and wearing the mask was also sticky but fun. I found myself smiling while I relaxed.

It says this cools your skin by 7 degrees and I believe it. Like it felt like I was in a freezer, but in a nice way, not a frostbite way.

Afterwards the residue seemed to soak in over the next 30minutes or so and my skin felt like a baby's bum. This mask is like a hydration explosion on your face. It doesn't feel like a novelty product, it actually seems to deeply hydrate skin.

Would use again. Did what it said it would. Recommend to all!

So if you tell me a mask is going to cool my face by 7 degrees, you can be darn sure I am going to test this as scientifically as possible. And thanks to my Covid driven purchase of an infrared thermometer....I could and I did!

I found this easy to use, it unfolded easily enough and positioned well on the face. It felt cold, like it had been chilled and I was very surprised when it felt like it was getting colder!

After 15 minutes I felt relaxed and rejuvanated, my face was glowing. Once I'd wiped away the residue I was amazed by how smooth my skin was, and how moisturised it felt.

And my thermometer experiment? My skin was 9 degrees cooler. NINE! How mad is that?

I'll be stocking up on these come summer, I can already picture myself soothing away those red hot days and intensely hydrating my skin at the same time!
