Really loved being a part of this trial :) My skin has been sensitive in the past but as I get older it is seemingly less sensy. I have used retinol before with super sassy 10/10 results! When this was sent out I was excited as heck! Both products retail for a standard supermarket product- less than $20 each. Both are easy pump bottles & have a click stop so no spills if you are shoving the bottles in a bag with other objects that could be ruined from a Garnier ejaculation. Packaging is SUPER ugly, a weird muted highlighter minty green situation that feels cheap to look at but the serum feels a bit more luxe with a glass bottle :) Product itself: Serum = would use again but am confused by it. Cleanser= nope. Does nothing…if you are a makeup wearer, even if it’s a thin coat of mascara, this cleanser will not remove anything. I tried using it as a post- cleanse cleanser (ugh who has time for this?!) but I was left with stingy skin and felt residue aster washing it off multiple times. = no from me.

Reviews
I enjoyed the retinol the most of the two products in this routine. After trialling them as a routine I probably wouldn't but them again. The cleanser was not quite cleansing enough for me but I did enjoy the retinol even though I didn't see massive results after 2 weeks. Probably a great routine for people with very sensitive skin that don't want a harsh cleanser and a gentle introduction to retinol.
The cleanser is a really gentle cream cleanser, quite a watery texture and not foaming at all. I found that it worked better if I used a 'harsher' cleanser first and then used the cleanser as a second cleanse. I did find myself using 3 - 4 pumps as it didn't feel like it stretched very far. I think this would be a great option for people with sensitive skin, it was completely fragrance free and didn't leave my skin feeling too tight or dry. Teamed with the Retinol-Berry serum my skin was left feeling smooth and moisturized. Most of the moisturisation came from the 3 in 1 serum. I found the 3 in 1 serum to have a great texture, not too thick, and absorbed surprisingly quickly. I don't think I noticed much difference in my skin during the trial, I did go a little too hard at the beginning and didn't take notice of the 'every other day' instruction as I am already a regular retinol user and thought that my skin would be used to it already. I'm looking forward to continuing with the serum but for me the cleanser just didn't do much for my skin. Both bottles had really great branding, super informative yet simple. I liked that the serum was in a glass bottle.
Tips: Follow the instructions on the serum!
I have combination skin that can be sensitive to new products. So I was looking forward to trying this routine out. This was my first time trying creme cleanser and I really don’t think it is for me. I found my makeup was not removed and left my face feeling dirty. The serum was very hydrating and definitely did not over dry my skin like most retinol routines can so I definitely recommend this routine to someone just starting out with retinol treatments. I did find it to be very effective for lessening the fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes but not too much improvement of the other lines and wrinkles on my face. The cleanser didn’t have many instructions but was easy to use and had a pleasant smell. The serum was easy to dispense and also had a pleasant smell, a good set of recommendations that zi found easy to follow and implement.
I enjoyed this routine but it’s not much of a game changer. I enjoyed the fragrances for each product, they’re fresh and enticing so I have enjoyed using them. I also liked the texture of both products and appreciate that neither inflamed my skin or caused any weird reactions or pilling when used in conjunction with my other products. Sadly I do not think I got much in the way of results, the serum didn’t have the short term effects that it promised and the cleanser just did the job of any normal cleanser. I felt that the cleanser didn’t come off entirely if I only rinsed it off and didn’t use a towel, but with a towel it is fine.
Impressed by garnier. I started off with the using the cleanser and moisturizer every second day, just to see how my skin would react to the retinol as I already have quite dry and sensitive skin. In saying that I definitely liked using both the products. Easy to use and My skin is left feeling soft and smooth without any stickiness or heavy, coated feeling after using the cleanser or the moisturizer Would recommend to people who are just starting to incorporate retinol into their skin care and they can ease their way into using this everyday. Cannot really say much about this reducing fine lines as I would need to try this for a couple more weeks before seeing any significant effect on my fine lines. Overall both are great products and does what they said they will. Give it a try and see how it goes for your skin type.
I used the cleanser and serum cream together as part of the Retinol Berry Routine. The products complimented each other nicely and weren't too overpowering, i.e., they didn't strip the skin of moisture. Together they made my skin feel soft and smooth but I didn't notice any reduction in fine lines or dark circles as mentioned on the packaging.
I did react slightly to the retinol serum cream as I have very sensitive skin, so I probably won't purchase it in the future, but I did like the cleanser and will probably keep using it and buy it when it's on special.
After using both products for nearly two weeks I have to say the cream cleanser is my favourite. It does what it says it will do cleans and nourish without stripping your skin. The serum I found a little harsh on my skin but once I cut it down to 2-3 times a week it was good and so reduce the darkness under my eyes.
Tips: First time users maybe take it a little slower with the serum.
If you're used to retinol then you might not notice a huge difference the cleanser + serum routine will make to your skin. These products are marketed to be gentler, which is great for those new to retinol but does mean it will take longer to see results. While I have yet to see noticeable results, I do like the fact that these products don't contain a lot of nasties that my skin normally reacts to. As these products are comparatively more affordable and can be found at the supermarket, no harm giving it a go!
I would recommend this cleanser + moisturiser set to any newbie retinol users, especially those who have sensitive skin! The moisturiser/serum is great as it takes the guesswork out of how much retinol to use and you can use this all over your face and neck! There's no fragrance added so it reduces the chances of irritation or any other side effects. The cleanser I'm a bit unsure of, as I felt a tingling sensation when I applied it to my face and I don't have sensitive skin so I wonder if this is suitable for all skin types. I found this cleanser to be a bit too gentle and it didn't remove much of my makeup so I had to incorporate other cleansers into my routine to fully clean my skin. It didn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight which is nice. I like that the bottles are made of recycled materials and there is no animal testing, making this a more eco-friendly product. Overall I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try retinol products without spending too much money or time investigating which brands to try.
