I must admit I was quite wary of trying this product as I have super sensitive skin that reacts to any active ingredients. The first night I tried this, I used a tiny amount, and the following day, my eyelids swelled up, as I expected. However, it only lasted a day, and then my skin calmed down.
On the box, it recommends using every other night in the first week to give your skin an opportunity to adjust to the retinol. Then by the second week, your skin will have adjusted. As my skin is so sensitive, I stuck with using it every other night for the duration of the trial and didn't have any further reactions.
Did I notice any major changes to my skin? No, not really. My skin didn't feel so dry, but I didn't notice any visible reduction in my fine lines or dark circles.
I will keep using up the cream, and I hope to see some more visible changes in my skin over time. As I was only using it every second night it may need some extra time to take effect. However, I am not sure yet if I will buy more when I have run out.
This was my first time trying retinol and I was super excited as I'd been wanting to try it for ages. As it says it doesn't over dry your skin which was great. The consistency and texture of the serum are really nice and it absorbs into your skin very nicely. As someone who likes to keep a minimal skin care routine I thought it was great that it incorporated a night cream and eye cream into it. After using it every night for the last 2 weeks I can't say that I've noticed too much difference in the appearance of any fine lines on my face. I will happily continue to use this product to the end of the bottle as I like how it feels on my face but I'm not sure that I would buy it again. I can imagine that it could be a great product to start your retinol journey with to get your face used to it before moving on to other products.
