Tissue face masks have quickly become one of the newer cult beauty trends so it's always good to see an affordable brand release a range of masks for those that don't want to shell out too much money but still be able to indulge.
The first thing that I noticed about the Garnier Tissue mask is the beautiful packaging and I'm a real sucker for packaging as a lot of people are!
The mask itself was actually one of the better fitting masks I've tried... I suppose it's impossible to get a mask that fits every face type but this one molded quite nicely to my face with just the eye holes being a little too close together.
I was really happy that this mask didn't have an offensive smell, it didn't smell too much like anything which I prefer, especially because I don't want highly fragranced products on my skin because that can't be good for it!
I noticeably relaxed while wearing this mask and actually found the 15 minute wait bearable, when usually I'm quite a 'busy' person. When I removed my mask, my only grievance (and I've had this issue with all ma9sks I've used) is there is so much residual product/moisture left over - I know this is a deeply hydrating and moisturizing mask so it's to be expected I suppose so I lightly massaged it into my skin and then patted my skin with a clean makeup pad to dry it off a little more.
I was impressed with this mask, my skin felt smoother, more hydrated and what surprised me was it felt firmer which I didn't expect! I would definitely agree that my skin felt more hydrated, firmer and softer for 24 hours as they state on the packaging.
This isn't a product I would rush to repurchase and use on a super regular basis but I enjoyed using it, I felt more relaxed afterwards and my skin thanked me for it so it would definitely be, say, a once a month indulgence - however, I would happily stock up with it retailing at that super affordable price!
I have previously used one tissue mask before and I had such a great experience with it I was excited to trial this Garner Mask.
The mask comes in a foil type packet. It is easy to open and the instructions on the back are very clear and easy to follow but the easiness unfortunately stops there. The application was messy there was a lot of serum which made it hard to press the mask down smoothly onto my face. It also didn’t help that the mask was a bit big for my face so it ended up getting in my hair.
Initially I found the mask rather unpleasant as the serum or goo felt very cold and slimy and I needed to keeping pressing the mask down so I’m not sure if you would say that it was a relaxing experience. Once the 15minutes where up I felt like the mask hadn’t done it thing so I left it on another 10minutes. This extra time allowed the serum to absorb into my skin more. I was rather surprised I needed to leave it on longer as my skin is on the drier side. Once I removed the mask I follow the instructions and massage the rest of the serum into my skin but once it had dry I decided to wiped it off with a damp facecloth as it felt like I have residue left.
The results were more positive. I found the mask was very cooling and smoothing on my skin and my skin definitely felt more hydrated the next day.
The things I really like about this mask are: It is very suitable for sensitive skin there was no rashes, redness, tightness or stinging. It was quite hydrating and lasted at least a day and it is a reasonably price compared to some other tissue masks. Unfortunately I just feel that the application and fit of the mask lets it down and for this reason I would be unlikely to purchase this in the future.
Tips: Tie your hair up first!
