I was so stoked to get to try this product. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin, and so to get to try something that claims to be gentle and yet still remove makeup? Well, it's like it was made for me.
First off, it's a decent sized product. Far bigger than other makeup removers etc I have used in the past. The packaging is simple, yet effective. It really does just look like water! And there is no smell. Which impressed me instantly, because most products with perfume, even ones that claim to be for sensitive skin, tend to react with my skin. It's easy to use. No mucking around with rinsing it off or anything like that, and is going to last AGES!
Now for the nitty gritty, I found this product really did work. I was sceptical at first. How can something that claims to be so gentle, and with such a short list of ingredients, actually remove my long wearing foundation and eye makeup? Well, it really did. I even found myself using it in the evening of days when I didn't wear any makeup. I had one moment when I was wearing some very heavy eye makeup, including multiple layers of waterproof mascara, and that was the only time I really had to scrub or go over an area more than once.
So all in all, I would not only recommend this to friends and family, but I will -eventually, when it runs out- be purchasing it again for myself. I struggle to find products that my skin doesn't react to. So when I do, I stick with it.
Thanks you BR for giving me a chance on this, and thanks Garnier for bringing this product out.
I'm one of those people who doesn't have time for lots of fussy routines, so I was really pleased to trial Micellar Cleansing Water, mostly because it can be used eye makeup as well.
Although it is called water, I was unprepared for the fact that the consistency is that of...water.. That made me sceptical, how could this water do water plain old tap water can't? Well I was pleasantly surprised. I applied the Micellar Water with a make-up remover pad. It glides over the skin effortlessly and I could visibly see by the residue on the pad that it was cleaning the make up off my skin. My skin felt refreshed after using it and I looked forward to using it each day, especially before I went to bed at night.
The product promises to be effective on eyes, if I was to be a little critical I found it wasn't very thorough at getting mascara off, but that wasn't too bad, a little rubbing got most off, so for the most part I do think the product delivered on what it promised.
Price wise, this product is RRP $12.99 and I think that represents excellent value for money. I researched Micellar Water when I was picked for the trial, as I had never heard of it, and most were alot more expensive, so I think Garnier Micellar Water's price makes it alot more accessible for the average person.
The packaging is appropriate but I have one issue with it, the cap is designed wrong. It says about 1/2 a teaspoon is all that's required, but the cap prevents the flow of the water so hardly any comes out, so you have to give it a bit of a shake and then too much comes out.. it was annoying.
I have only been using the product for a week, but so far I am happy with how it makes my skin feel, how it cleans and how I can put make-up etc on after I have used it.
I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Tips: Be careful pouring it out or you'll use too much, which doesn't matter on your skin, but it won't last as long.
