I just admit I was a little hesitant to try this product as I have seen that a lot of people have reacted to this (getting red puffy eyes etc), but I was kindly gifted some so WHY NOT?! I have been using this in the evenings to wash off my mascara mainly (I squeeze a little onto a cotton ball and press to my closed eye hold for a few seconds then rub off very gently). I really do LOVE how easy the mascara comes off! It is 100x better than scrubbing side to side with a face cloth that feels like sand paper! Later in the evenings tho... I do notice my eyes watering a lot and they are a little sore and sensitive after using this product. It doesn't bother me too much because to me, it doesn't hurt as much as the sandpaper effect that I stated above. Would I reccommend to a friend...? Yes, but with caution, other than that I'm all on board with this Micellar water!

Tips: Maybe use just a little on the first few applicatione incase you react:)
When I first started using this I was delighted to find that it actually did what it said it did and felt as though it was just water taking the make-up off! I wouldn't say that it cleansed my skin and i always use a cleanser afterwards.
Tips: A friend of mine had a severe allergic reaction to this, so please be aware when trying out!
It seems the BR world is divided into people who love this and people who don't. I really wanted to love this but....I just.....can't. I bought this at the height of its hype and was really excited to get the last bottle hidden away on the bottom supermarket shelf. I find the clear bottle with its pink lid attractive and the amount you get represents good value for money. It contains a clear, almost odourless liquid that does bubble up if you give it a shake.
Ok, so before we get started, let me make this clear. I am devoted to hot cloth cleansing with a thick, oily cleanser. So micellar was probably never going to be a good fit for me but I tried to go in with an open mind. What I found was that I had to soak a lot of cotton wool with a lot of the micellar to get all my makeup off. It took at least five before they came away clean. I didn't rinse if off the first few times I used it and after a few minutes I got the weirdest sensation on my skin. Not burning or tingling but bubbling. Weird (and I wouldn't describe my skin as sensitive) One time I didn't apply moisturiser straight away and my skin went very red. After that, I rinsed after use and my skin did feel clean and soft. However, this is when I decided micellar was not for me. It just seemed like a lot more time and faff involved than my usual HCC and with not great results. Really, it's no better than the dreaded face wipe (don't get me started on those!)
As this only has a six month shelf life, I don't want to waste it so I use it when I'm away. I've decanted it into a smaller bottle with no spillage disasters. Sadly, it won't remove my latest mascara so I'm back to finding another use for it. A few on the forum say it makes a good brush cleaner so I'm going to give that a go next.
Disappointing but I know many swear by it, it's just not for me.
Tips: What I do find this good for is removing long lasting or very pigmented lipstick. Soak a cotton pad with it and hold to you lips for a few seconds and it's all gone!
I jumped in and tried this, and yes it does remove my makeup somewhat easily but I'm not completely convinced I would replace it for my normal cleanser. After using this to remove all my makeup I still need to cleanse with my normal cream cleanser afterwards to make sure I have completely removed all the oils off my skin. I think this is a good product for removing soft and small amounts of makeup but if you wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis I would still recommend following it with a cleanser afterwards. I have to moisturize afterwards as I have super dry skin and find this feels rather drying afterwards. I do like using this product if I am using an oil to remove my eye makeup tho, I put a tiny bit on a cotton pad and it removes any left behind makeup removing oil oil off my lids and stops my eyes feeling heavy.
Tips: A great eye refresher for tired eyes, put a tiny bit on a cotton pad and place on eyes for a few seconds.
I rarely wear make up. We are talking once in a blue moon here. Mum and I were shopping in countdown and my mum got this micellar cleansing water for me as I had been wanting to buy it for ages! I have gotten it purely for removing dirt and everything else from my face as stated above I don't tend to wear makeup all too often.
This might sound funny but I did a full face of foundation the other day just to see if the micellar water would remove it and it sure did, like a breeze! I do have to say though the cotton pad got pretty dirty real quick with no extra hard rubbing or anything required! It didn't sting my face or anything which is a big plus.
I have recently broken out so much on my chin because of Aunt Flow being on the horizon. It is not a fun time having all these pimples. There was a funny feeling when I applied my micellar water to my chin area but I think this was only because the pimples were very active and open. Other than that the micellar water removed gunk from my face that had gathered over the course of the day. Even though it says you don't have to rinse it off, I like to do so anyway.
All in all the micellar cleansing water is a must have. It is super easy to use and it had pretty awesome results. I would recommend to anybody that is umming and ahhing over whether to purchase this product or not. :)
I love this micellar water. It is the best value micellar water, great price for a large decent size bottle. It removes makeup brilliantly and effectively. However, it is not the best at removing waterproof mascara and eyeliner (it can remove it, but not completely, leaves a bit of residue, it requires a bit more rubbing to get waterproof makeup off). It does not dry out or irritate my skin. It is gentle on my skin, not feeling oily nor dry. It works really well for people with sensitive skin like me.
I apply it on a cotton pad, place it on my eye, wait for a few seconds and then gently wipe the make-up off my eyes and skin. It does not irritate the eye area, does not leave my eyes stinging. I actually enjoy taking off my makeup every day.
The only letdown is I found it hard to control how much water comes out of the. Overall, it is an amazing product that takes off makeup quickly. Especially, at nights when I am super tired and can’t be bother, it is such a time saver. I usually take off my makeup with it then wash my face with my cleanser. Super clean skin before bed!
I was a bit skeptical using this as I heard really mixed reviews but I really wanted to try it so I picked it up anyway.
It comes in a big clear bottle with a pink flip top lid. Its a big sized product claiming that its got 200 uses probably is about right.
This has no smell and has an easy flow to get product out although I did find it came out a bit too quick if I wasnt paying attention and would totally sog a cotton pad or ball.
I used this to remove all sorts of different foundations from my Estee Lauder doublewear, Kat Von D Lock it and various mineral foundations it removed all of them and easily. it didnt require a whole lot of rubbing or going over I was really pleasantly surprised by this. It did take a little bit more elbow grease to remove my waterproof mascara but I was ok with that.
It didnt give me any irritation and it left my skin feeling surprisingly soft and hydrated and clean.
I will definately be buying this again. Pleased I changed my mind and tried it anyway
I was sent this to trial. I've been wanting to try micellar water, but I already had an eye makeup remover so was trying to use that up first.
Well, let me say I might not even bother with my other one. This product is amazing.
First off, it just looks like normal water. If you shake the bottle though, it will foam up (that's the micelle component). It has no smell and it's not sticky. For sensitive skin like mine, this is a good thing. I didn't react at all.
Initially, I used this to remove makeup and cleanse my face. This product is absolutely fantastic at removing eye makeup. You just wet your cotton pad with the water, hold it over your eye for a few seconds, and wipe. Everything came off after a couple of wipes. In terms of cleaning my face, it does, but I use a total of four cotton pads to do so.
As I don't have an unlimited supply of cotton pads, I instead use this to remove eye makeup, then as a toner after cleansing to remove any last traces.
I've also used this as a quick cleanse on days where I've worn no makeup, but the baby has been screaming. The pad is dirty. It just drives home the fact that your skin does accumulate dirt and pollution throughout the day.
On the whole, I would use this again. I'm really impressed that it is one of those rare products that completely works.
Tips: Don't swipe, glide the pad over your face. This slower action allows the micelles more time to work and cleanse better.
I was lucky enough to be chosen for a trial for this and have been using the product every night for the past week. I've never tired any brand of Micellar water before but have been meaning to for a while so this is my first experience this. I was a bit hesitant at first as I've been reacting to a lot of products lately especially if they are not natural/organic but I was very pleased with this one.
First off, it comes in a simple plastic bottle that's fairly sturdy. The top part is kind of like a squeeze bottle so it makes it easy to control how much of the product you're using when you're putting it on your cotton pad to apply. The water itself is basically like a toner and doesn't have any smell at all. Upon application, it did not sting or irritate my sensitive skin at nor did it leave any dryness or redness. Did it remove my makeup? Yes! Easily! I've tried this with both heavy makeup and light makeup and it worked very well. I did have to use a couple of cotton balls for heavier makeup but that happens with most makeup removers anyway. It even worked great with my waterproof mascara and eyeliner even though it doesn't specifically say on the bottle that it removes waterproof. My skin felt clean and refreshed after using this.
Overall, this is a great product. I've been leaning more towards natural skin care lately however, because this product is so gentle, I would not hesitate to use it again.
Tips: This would be great to bring on a long haul flight to cleanse and refresh the skin after flying!
I have gleefully incorporated the Garnier Micellar water into my routine.
I first had tried the L'Oreal version and had been quite disappointed, so I had very high hopes for the Garnier branded water!
I have been using this product for over a month now and I have not had any issues with it causing skin tightness/rough-dry patches/breakouts.
I use this product to take off my make up at night before washing my face, it cleanly removes all of my make-up (leaving me with the barest of panda eyes in the morning, I'm not very good at eye make-up removal) and allows me to only wash my face once with my cleanser before going to sleep.
The Garnier Micellar water leaves me with a smooth not quite dewy but definitely hydrated complexion, in contrast to the L'Oreal version which I found quite drying.
I have used this before and after the gym to give me a fresh feeling before catching the bus home, or reviving myself after a day in a stuffy office. It's also great if you haven't showered and need to duck into the shops for something super quickly and want to feel a little more put together.
Tips: When removing eye make-up do let the cotton pad sit on the eye for a moment before swiping, this allows the product to soak in leaving a nice cool refreshing feeling on your eyes.
