For far too long now i have failed to get into any type of cleansing routine....Not that other products didn't work... just that they were far too much hassle. Ok I admit it sometimes I can be a little lazy, however this is where this amazing product comes in FINALLY a cleanser that doesn't require a sinkful of warm water and more washing. I found it so simple to use that it might even make it into a reqular thing. Does it do the job?? Well no breakouts of the dreaded spots and fantastic at removing the odd bit of make up i did wear (first few days of Uni and all..) It says on the bottle no fragrance which is another tick right there, they call it a water and its easy to see why, if it wasn't for the opening on top it could easily be mistaken for a bottle of water ( in the dark by your sleepy partner) Overall thumbs up for this product from me

Tips: No face cloth = less washing but dont forget your cotton squares!!
Unfortunately I have sensitive skin and this product stung my skin really badly around my eye area :( I'm so gutted because everybody is obsessed with this product and it has so many good reviews.. but it just didn't work for me! :( however it did take my makeup off straight away, it was really effective and therefore did what it said it would :)
I picked this up back in January when I was over in Sydney. Of course soon after I got back there were rumours of this coming to NZ. I've been using my Bioderma Micellar water for over a year so as soon as it ran out I was happy to try the Garnier version as it is much cheaper and easier to get.
The packaging is very simple. I really like the clear plastic container as you always know how much you have left. The pink cap works well and I haven't had any problems with getting it on and off or breaking. I like the oval shaped bottle as it is easy to hold and the plastic seems quite thin so easier to push to get product out faster.
I find this incredibly similar to my Bioderma (lucky for me and my bank balance). It looks and feels just like water, but better. Personally I use this on a cotton pad after I have cleansed my face to get rid of any further make-up residue, like having a second cleanse. I also use it in the morning just to make sure my skin is clean before putting more stuff on my face. I have found that it isn't the best at removing waterproof mascara. I have to put it on the cotton pad then leave on my lashes for a bit before swiping off, but for the price I don't mind. It doesn't make me feel like my skin is stripped of moisture and I have had no redness/reaction to this at all.
I'm impressed with this product as it does all the things I want it to, and the price isn't too bad either. My Bioderma bottle (that I used in the same way) of about the same size lasted me 10 months so that shows that this is incredibly good value!
UPDATE: Turns out that this product does in fact break me out. I found that some of my pimples were not healing as fast as usual and that I had a huge amount on my chin. I stopped using this and went on to use a Simple Micellar Water instead and haven't had this problem. Therefore I have downgraded this product and will not be using it again.
I heard so many good things about it, was so excited when i got it on my hand.
Its the best make up remover i have tried. It doesnt stink your eyes or leaving oily residue.
Its super cheap for such a great amount, comes in a cute pink lid bottle which doesnt leek. The design is so simple but eye catching.
In the first use, i left it on as they recommend, remove make up and apply skincare. I woke up with a rash of pimples around my mouth, some here some there around my face. They are small under skin without head pimples.
I didnt give up because i liked it so much. I tried to use it as make up remover only. Hopefully after a good clean right after it should be fine. Pimples didnt appear like night mare like the first use but they still show up. Too bad my skin doesnt like it.
Now i use it for eye and lip make up remover. I wish i can use all the benefit of it. Still a great product.
I really enjoyed how well the micellar water took my make up off especially eye makeup. However I did find that if I didn't wash my face afterwards I would break out as it left a greasy residue. I still use it to remove eye make up and stubborn lipstick but wash away the residue once done
I feel like this product was sooo hyped up! When it first launched in NZ it took me so long to find it! I had already been using another brand of micellar water that I had purchased from postie plus which was amaaazing, so when I purchased this I expected it to be even better because of all the hype and it was from a good well known brand, but I felt so let down! I feel like I have to use so much more and rub so much harder than I do with my other product.
It does do what it says it does, I just expected a little more I guess. When I first used it I broke out really bad, but I guess that was just my skin getting use to a new product.
Over all, this product has nice simple packaging, you get a lot for your money, but I feel like there are other products out there (face wipes etc) that will do the same trick
I must be one of the very few that isn't besotted with this product!? I have been using it for about a week and I am yet to figure out what the rave is about!? It has made my skin break out, which Ive never had an issue with before. It also doesn't remove all of my make upand leaves a tacky residue on my skin. I will probably use it for cleaning my brushes, which Ive heard its great at! I managed to pick this up on special for $9.99 but even at full price, its a large amount for the price. I will persevere for a bit longer but really don't appreciate having zits pop up at 43!
Great packaging, great smell, easy to use bottle. Great as a quick cleanest from oil light makeup but it didn't budge gel eyeliner or mascara and took a lot of repeats to get off stuff.
Tips: Perfect for everyday upkeep but not for full makeup
I'm just not completely sold on this product. It removes my brow and face makeup well but I really have to work hard to get my mascara and eye liner off with this product. I don't like having to scrub around the eye area to get the product off but I do find that it works better if I soak a cotton pad with the product and just hold it on the eyes rather than rubbing. It does a really good job of cleaning my makeup brushes so I use it regularly for that
So it works, does what it says removes dirt/make up without having to use water or any other facial wash. It has a very neutral smell like a watered down mild face wash. My skin doesn't feel refreshed, it just feels as if I have washed it. I did have to use 2-3 make up pads to completely clear my face of makeup, which obviously you would have to purchase and dispose of. I feel like its kind of like using disposable nappies vs cotton washable nappies, i'm pretty green and I don't like to contribute to waste. Because of this I obviously prefer a facecloth and face wash mainly because its more sustainable. I also like the using a facecloth for the heat and steaming of my face, and the gentleness of just water around my eye and face wash elsewhere. It's not something I would personally purchase as I wasn't blown away by its cleaning properties and I don't think its a sustainable method. It also reacted really badly to the eczema on my hand when I over poured (easily done) so I wouldn't suggest using it if you suffer from any skin irritations.
Tips: Perhaps something good for traveling with a few make up pads in your toilet bag, as its always awkward asking for a face cloth as a guest.
