I'm one of those people who doesn't have time for lots of fussy routines, so I was really pleased to trial Micellar Cleansing Water, mostly because it can be used eye makeup as well.
Although it is called water, I was unprepared for the fact that the consistency is that of...water.. That made me sceptical, how could this water do water plain old tap water can't? Well I was pleasantly surprised. I applied the Micellar Water with a make-up remover pad. It glides over the skin effortlessly and I could visibly see by the residue on the pad that it was cleaning the make up off my skin. My skin felt refreshed after using it and I looked forward to using it each day, especially before I went to bed at night.
The product promises to be effective on eyes, if I was to be a little critical I found it wasn't very thorough at getting mascara off, but that wasn't too bad, a little rubbing got most off, so for the most part I do think the product delivered on what it promised.
Price wise, this product is RRP $12.99 and I think that represents excellent value for money. I researched Micellar Water when I was picked for the trial, as I had never heard of it, and most were alot more expensive, so I think Garnier Micellar Water's price makes it alot more accessible for the average person.
The packaging is appropriate but I have one issue with it, the cap is designed wrong. It says about 1/2 a teaspoon is all that's required, but the cap prevents the flow of the water so hardly any comes out, so you have to give it a bit of a shake and then too much comes out.. it was annoying.
I have only been using the product for a week, but so far I am happy with how it makes my skin feel, how it cleans and how I can put make-up etc on after I have used it.
I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
I've never used or heard of anything like this, and if there was, it's not this affordable. Despite reading the mechanism behind it, I was surprised it didn't smell chemically at all! It was very neutral, no fragrance at all.
It took 2 cotton balls (split each in half) to remove my face make up completely and half a cotton ball to remove my waterproof mascara. I was hesitant to put this on my eyes, expecting it to sting with its chemical properties but I felt nothing at all, and most importantly it removed all of my eye make up!
Although you would need a couple of bags of cotton balls a month to remove make up alone, it is a great value and good lazy make up remover. I still had to rub skin to get the make up off, but I don't have to deal with water running down my arms when I wash my face. Would definitely buy again and recommend this to anyone for camping, sleep overs, or at work at the end of the day.
Tips: To remove mascara, hold the dampen cotton ball over your eye for a few seconds so the product will remove more easily and prevent extra tugging.
