The first of its kind

I've never used or heard of anything like this, and if there was, it's not this affordable. Despite reading the mechanism behind it, I was surprised it didn't smell chemically at all! It was very neutral, no fragrance at all.

It took 2 cotton balls (split each in half) to remove my face make up completely and half a cotton ball to remove my waterproof mascara. I was hesitant to put this on my eyes, expecting it to sting with its chemical properties but I felt nothing at all, and most importantly it removed all of my eye make up!

Although you would need a couple of bags of cotton balls a month to remove make up alone, it is a great value and good lazy make up remover. I still had to rub skin to get the make up off, but I don't have to deal with water running down my arms when I wash my face. Would definitely buy again and recommend this to anyone for camping, sleep overs, or at work at the end of the day.

Tips: To remove mascara, hold the dampen cotton ball over your eye for a few seconds so the product will remove more easily and prevent extra tugging.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I'm one of those people who doesn't have time for lots of fussy routines, so I was really pleased to trial Micellar Cleansing Water, mostly because it can be used eye makeup as well.

Although it is called water, I was unprepared for the fact that the consistency is that of...water.. That made me sceptical, how could this water do water plain old tap water can't? Well I was pleasantly surprised. I applied the Micellar Water with a make-up remover pad. It glides over the skin effortlessly and I could visibly see by the residue on the pad that it was cleaning the make up off my skin. My skin felt refreshed after using it and I looked forward to using it each day, especially before I went to bed at night.

The product promises to be effective on eyes, if I was to be a little critical I found it wasn't very thorough at getting mascara off, but that wasn't too bad, a little rubbing got most off, so for the most part I do think the product delivered on what it promised.

Price wise, this product is RRP $12.99 and I think that represents excellent value for money. I researched Micellar Water when I was picked for the trial, as I had never heard of it, and most were alot more expensive, so I think Garnier Micellar Water's price makes it alot more accessible for the average person.

The packaging is appropriate but I have one issue with it, the cap is designed wrong. It says about 1/2 a teaspoon is all that's required, but the cap prevents the flow of the water so hardly any comes out, so you have to give it a bit of a shake and then too much comes out.. it was annoying.

I have only been using the product for a week, but so far I am happy with how it makes my skin feel, how it cleans and how I can put make-up etc on after I have used it.

I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Tips: Be careful pouring it out or you'll use too much, which doesn't matter on your skin, but it won't last as long.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

When i find a products that works for me i really don't like to change but decided to give this a go. I really like how easy it is to use just squeeze onto a pad and wipe over your face. Since i don't wear a lot of make up i found that this was ideal to use at night to take off the little amount i had on. It didn't feel heavy on my skin and made it feel really nice and smooth once i had taken it off my make up. I really like how its perfume free as it doesn't smell strong or leave a smell afterwards. I defiantly will be buying this again, but not so sure about the 200 uses.

Amazing, fresh feeling skin!

I was fortunate enough to know someone trialing this for BR! I absolutely adore this product. It made my skin feel so soft and fresh after using and hardly took any time at all! I used it first on a day I only really wore a bit of BB cream, concealer and mascara. It removed my makeup as it said it would with just one cotton pad! However, I know people who had a lite more trouble than I did. The only struggle I had was that I found mascara really hard to get rid of. Had to use another makeup remover as it took a little too much time for me to remove my mascara with this. I wasn't wearing waterproof mascara either! On the whole, I do love this a lot though purely for the way it makes your skin feel.

Lives up to the hype

This has to be one of the most unusual products I have ever read about - it's a cleanser but it's water and you don't need to wash it off....umm?! So after reading all the amazing reviews I decided I had to try it - luckily my local supermarket had it in stock and it was on sale for $9 - an absolute steal for the size of the bottle! It recommends applying a small amount to a facial pad and simply wipe your makeup off - no need to rub or rinse. I wear a lot of mascara so I was really impressed to find that this removed it all in a couple of gentle wipes without me having to rub or reapply more cleansing water on the pad. It also removed all of my foundation, eyebrow pencil and lipstick, although I do need to use 2-3 pads to get everything off. The strangest thing for me is the not rinsing bit - it is super handy, and great for those mornings when you're in a rush, or if you're on the go somewhere and need something easy (camping, car trips etc). I must admit though, I do tend to rinse afterwards before I apply my moisturiser and serum at night. Old habits die hard!

I have left my original review, but added this last bit about 3 weeks later. I still love this product, but I have started to react to it when using it on my face. It works beautifully on my mascara still, but as an overall cleanser it's started to give me a slight burning sensation and my skin becomes quite red. I'll keep using it as an eye makeup remover and see how that goes.

Tips: If you are a heavy mascara wearer, make sure you douse the pad with a lot of product before holding over your lashline, and let it soak in for a couple of seconds before wiping off.

Love this stuff!

So I decided to try this after all the hype it was getting. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this product. I completely wet a cotton pad with the product and swiped it across my face. It felt cool and refreshing and easily took off my foundation and most of my eye make-up, all without rubbing. I did need to use a second cotton pad to remove all my eye make-up and any other make-up that was still left on my face. I did need to use a slight rub to get rid of suborn eyeliner and mascara. I think that because of this it would last me 100 uses rather than 200, to me this is still good value as I would only use it in the evening. When I was finished it left my skin feeling clean and refreshed and not tight at all. This is so quick and easy I think it will replace my cleansing wipes and I found it a lot more gentle too.

Tips: If I was wearing full make-up I would use this as a pre-cleasne and then follow up with my normal cleanser to make sure my face was completely clean.

Gently removes makeup

I love the Micellar water to gently remove the remainders of my makeup. A little goes a long way. I have had it over 2 weeks now and still have plenty left. I use it for my eyes and all over my face. It feels so refreshing. It is such a good value for money. The only negative is that it is not strong enough to take out my waterproof mascara.

Great Makeup remover

I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about this product prior to purchasing it. When I saw it was on special at Countdown I had to get it and try it for myself.

It comes in a verrry generous 400ml bottle which is clear with a pink lid. It's cute!

Now, I have used it in conjunction with my normal skin care routine as well as a final step just before going to bed (you know those kinds of nights when you've been out clubbing , when you get home taking off all your makeup is the LAST thing on your mind). I found that it look off a LOT of my makeup on those "I can't be bothered nights"

BUT .... I recently have been using it PRIOR to washing my face with my normal cleanser. I realised that it doesn't actually take off ALL my makeup... as my cleanser turns brown from the foundation it picks up that the micellar water has left behind.

It is a really good makeup remover, and I would recommend it for those off nights when you can’t be bothered with your full skin care routine, however, I would not recommend it as a replacement for a good cleanse.

Tips: Great to use prior to cleansing or on the nights when you're too tired to do a full cleanse. Pour some on a clean cotton pad and swipe over whole face.

On the fence a little...

I just admit I was a little hesitant to try this product as I have seen that a lot of people have reacted to this (getting red puffy eyes etc), but I was kindly gifted some so WHY NOT?! I have been using this in the evenings to wash off my mascara mainly (I squeeze a little onto a cotton ball and press to my closed eye hold for a few seconds then rub off very gently). I really do LOVE how easy the mascara comes off! It is 100x better than scrubbing side to side with a face cloth that feels like sand paper! Later in the evenings tho... I do notice my eyes watering a lot and they are a little sore and sensitive after using this product. It doesn't bother me too much because to me, it doesn't hurt as much as the sandpaper effect that I stated above. Would I reccommend to a friend...? Yes, but with caution, other than that I'm all on board with this Micellar water!

Tips: Maybe use just a little on the first few applicatione incase you react:)
