Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water does what it says it will, It genuinely felt as though I was rinsing my skin with water, there was absolutely no irritation or tightness after I used it. I really can’t see ladies with sensitive skin finding this too abrasive at all. Garnier promises this to be a one-step product for face, lip and eye make-up. However, I can’t say that it got rid of every trace of my waterproof mascara, but I am yet to find a cleanser that has been able to Remove it 100%. Only a small amount on a cotton pad is needed so the big 400ml bottle for $12.99 will last months!

I was fortunate enough to be selected to trial the Barnier Cleansing Water, so I am not actually sure if it is on the shelves yet. The bottle arrived as is, no box or additional packaging (which only pushes the price up), and is sturdy and attractive, albeit somewhat plain, so I was not about to expect miracles (surprising how packaging psychologically makes it look inferior or superior). Strong clip on top to the lid. I opened it and could not smell any fragrance - which for me was a bonus. I duly wiped half of my face with cotton pads and the Micellar cleansing water and the other half with plain water. After three light wipes the half cleansed with the Micellar was sparkling clean. I then wiped it with a gentle toner (which always manages to get a little more make up off) but to my surprise the cotton pad was left clean. I repeated this on the side I had cleansed with plain water, and carried on until I had used the toner more than 6 times and make up was still coming off. Yes, it definitely works, at the price it is certainly affordable, and I am sure will last a couple of months. My skin was left super clean. I have used this a few times now, and I am sold! Very gentle, no tingling, no oily residue, no tight feeling afterwards, just a soft and very clean skin. Congratulations Garnier you have nailed it with this one!! I am off to look for some for my daughters......
Magic water?! Micellar water! Im intrigued by this stuff, ive seen so many you tubers rave about it so cant wait to try it. Im Quite excited about the size of bottle- 400 mls and The recommended amount to use is half a teaspoon so thats a lot of uses in this bottle! Over 200 they say on the info card that came with the package.
I knew the best way to trial this was to wear full make up and Benefits They're Real mascara to fully test this miracle water out.
I have been using this for a week now and am pleasantly surprised at its ability to take EVERYTHING off my face without scrubbing or harsh rubbing, including the almighty mascara! I will admit however that it took 3-4 cotton pads to get all the makeup off. Thats the only downfall, it chews through the cotton pads !
It leaves the skin really squeaky clean which is a bonus, something i couldnt get with ordinary cleaners
Will definitely re purchase when this bottle is empty!! Love love love
Tips: stock up on cotton pads! Youll need em
So if your like me you wondered if this product would actually stand up to what it promised then you will be positively pleased with this. Both my loyal make up wearing daughter and I tried this cleansing water and instantly fell in love with it. I was amazed how much this removed from my pores. I also felt secretly ashamed at the same time, I thought my exfoliater got all the grime but this just proves it doesn't clean away everything. My daughter has sensitive skin and has had no problems using this. It doesn't feel sticky or oily when left on the skin. Sometimes our skin can feel dry and stiff when a product has been left on it but not with this magical water. This will be a staple product in our bathrooms.
Tips: Don't leave home without it
Twenty years ago I started using Shiseido oil free cleansing water and loved it, but it was very pricey, so I hoped this product would be a modern version.
My daughter had purchased the Garnier Micellar cleansing water in Australia, and found it was great for her teenage skin. I have very fair English skin (50 yrs old) and find a lot of wipes etc. cause a burning sensation on my skin, so I am reasonably careful in what I use.
This product was great, it left my skin feeling clean and no stinging or burning. I use Revlon Colourstay foundation and it did remove that, but required about three goes round. Mascara not so easy to remove, but it did a good job.
I remove my makeup every night before bed, so this was a great product to wake up my skin in the morning.
I would certainly use again, especially for my no makeup days, and the BIG size means that I can share it with my girls.
I was really surprised how well this water cleaned my skin. It removed all traces of make up and left my skin feeling soft and not greasy or oily. I was worried it would cause me to break out because it was not what I would normally use but it hasn't. Absolutely worth it for the price and will last for a very long time. Pros: easy to use, non greasy, doubles as a make up remover, cost effective, it works cons: there are none I thought it was fantastic.
Tips: Use with a cotton pad
Well, I decided to try this differently. I know most people will apply makeup and test it to remove makeup. I decided to try it as a cleanser on my skin. The first time I tried it, I thought my face was already clean. I wanted to see what Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water would pick up. Wow!!!!!!!!!!! My face was not clean. It picked up a lot more dirt off my face.
I have sensatvie skin. This product did not cause any burning or stinging. It did not dry my skin out. It made my skin wonderful, soft, clean.
I couldn't really smell any fragrance at all. It's just like water.
I have never used anything like this before, but I am totally converted and I will be purchasing this again!
I have been a regular user of toners and cleansers but this product is fantastic! Whether im out on sat night and come home to take me up off or just a freshen up after work. It works a treat. And dosnt dry skin out..my skin is looking brighter too..I have sensitive skin and has not reacted skin at all..great product..recommend!!
Tips: Use after a long day or night out feels and looks great after wash..
I was very much on the 'are you sure?' side of the fence when I first heard about Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water. I think it's because it's called 'water' - and while water is fabulous, it's not really all that wonderful at getting off hardcore makeup, or even lightcore makeup. So of course, the first thing I did when I received my trial bottle was to look at the ingredients, there's a lot more than just water in the bottle. I've no idea what most of it is, (and I'm too busy/lazy to Google it), but I did recognise a few ingredients, which I've seen in other cleansing products, which explains why it's so darn good at removing makeup.
So, what side of the fence am I having now trialled it for a week or so? I'm on the fence. I'm having a love/hate relationship with this product.
What do I love? I love the bottle - it's a generous 400mls, and it's really pretty. I love the pink cap. I love that it's not super smelly, there is a hint of chemical aroma, but nothing off-putting. I love that it does an amazing job of removing makeup. I was seriously impressed. Although to remove a full face I had to use both sides of three cotton pads, which used a lot of product (which is why I'm guessing the bottle is such a good size). I love that my skin didn't feel tight afterwards.
So what do I hate? Well, it's great at removing makeup, but it's not great for my skin. Initially I only used the Micellar Water to cleanse in the evenings, but I noticed over the days my pores became larger and I started getting little whiteheads on my forehead/nose/chin, which I'm not usually prone too. Also my skin started to feel rough, and not nearly as hydrated as normal. The last few days I've used it as a pre-cleanse to remove makeup, then used my usual cleanser, which has seen some improvement to pimple production, but not to the state of my skin.
So will I use it? Yes, on full makeup days, absolutely - it's a fantastic makeup remover. But on a daily basis? No, I already battle wrinkes/blackheads/owwy red pimples, I don't want to add whiteheads into the mix.
Tips: Be careful about using it on your eyes, it stings a little. Also be gentle when squeezing it out as I found myself being overzealous and a fair bit splashed about the bathroom and the bathroom sink, oops.
i was sceptical,a water cleanser? wow it does exactly what it says.my skin felt great after the first use.it removed all my make up,my skin felt smooth and soft.I did wonder if it was just washing off so I had a no make-up just a moisturizer day.i used first thing in the morning, then at night. I was astounded.the removal pad was really dirty.the amount of grime from just one day.wow wow.love it.
Tips: so easy to use.
