Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

As far as makeup removers go, this one is a pretty good contender. I usually use makeup wipes as I wear a lot of makeup and find makeup removers quite oily on my skin and I go through them very fast.

However I found the Cleansing Water was very light on my skin - no oily residue at all, it did really feel like water. It did a good job of removing my makeup and was gentle enough to use around my eyes. I did find I used between 2-3 cotton pads each time to remove my makeup which means I go through a packet of cotton pads quite fast however the bottle is very large so it will last me for ages which is very cost effective. People who wear less makeup would only need to use 1 or maybe 2 cotton pads.

The bottle says you don't need to rinse your skin after cleaning which I was a bit skeptical about however you really don't need to rinse! My skin felt nice and smooth and clean afterwards without rinsing which I really enjoyed. Overall I think this is a great makeup remover that is kind to your skin :)

Before receiving this for trial I was very unsure of how this would work as the word water makes you think of trying to remove your makeup with just plain old water! I love the packaging – its simple and pretty. Everything looks perfect in pink. But it really does look like the bottle has been filled with just water. The bottle is a very generous size in 400ml. The product itself is amazing at removing makeup! It feels as though you are using water it’s quite refreshing to use, as it doesn’t feel like you are using something horrible on your skin. It has a slight chemical smell but nothing very powerful. It was very gentle, no tingling, no tight, dry or stiff feeling afterwards, just a soft and very clean skin. I do have to use either 3 or 4 cotton pads to remove a normal days face of makeup but I guess when compared to the size of a wipe a cotton pad is very tiny. I have found you do need to be careful about how much the amount you squirt on to your cotton pad, as too much makes it more difficult to remove as your face ends up quite wet. I didn’t have any problems when it got in my eyes I found it quite gentle with no burning. I used this every day since I received and was very impressed at how well it removes makeup but I have noticed that my skin has started to become oily when I wake in the mornings, I haven’t had a breakout because of this but I would understand if this product did cause a breakout from the oiliness. I think it really is a great product for the price and how well it works and I will definitely continue to use this but will limit using it every day as I don’t enjoy having oily skin.

I've tried using it after my regular makeup cleanser and still managed to get icky things off my face! Definitely a good cleanser if you're not thorough with your routine, it will cut down cleansing time because I find it's more powerful without being harsh at all.

There is no smell and there is no residue left on your skin after use. It's recommended to leave a soaked cotton pad on for 5-10 seconds for heavy makeup removal.

Pleasantly surprised by this product. Doesn't look anything extra special although I very much appreciate the size of the bottle and the very affordable price for 400ml. Have used this for just over a week, both morning and night, and find it does live up to it's claims. The cleanser is fragrance free (huge-bonus for sensitive skin) and removed all my makeup following the directions on the bottle. Just a few wipes with a cotton pad and my skin was clean. Also liked that it didn't leave my face feeling sticky like some makeup removers I have tried do - nor did it leave my skin feeling tight which is another problem I have had in the past. Very satisfied and whilst I don't think this is a miracle product or anything special, it is a nice all rounder that I would buy again.

i found this ok, it done what it said it would i like it dosent have a flash bottle ,but the best part was when taking my make up off i didnt have that strong chemical smell , there was no smell and it was gentle on my skin and didnt sting me so to me this is the one i would use, especially if u have seniitive skin and it dosent irritate , so a plus for me and also leaves your skin feeling soft so it nt only takes your make up off but cleans and softens as well , AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!

This product is so nice! I've never had a product that has removed my make up so good and left my skin feel amazing. I love how you don't have to use so much product, it was also really great because my skin normally hates make up removers and stings, but this one it didn't! I will be re purchasing :)

I have been using this product for the last week at night time to remove makeup before bed, I found it great for removing my make up easily without having to scrub it off, it even took my mascara off with out to much smudging. I liked that I didn't need to rinse my face afterwards and that it actually didn't have a chemical smell that toners and cleansers can have. Also I loved that this was a large bottle and you only need a very little bit so very good value for money. The packaging was great looked really fresh and clean. Overall I really liked how easy to use this product is and I recommend to all.

I was a bit sceptical about this product but I'm always looking for products which save time so I was really glad to be on the review team.

I found that you don't need to use too much of it on the cotton pad. It is completely colourless and doesn't seem to have much of a smell which is good new for people with sensitive skin.

I did find that I didn't like the taste (I discovered this when I used it to remove lip gloss and the taste left on my lips wasn't good).

I think this is a good product to use after the gym, to clean your face off, and definitely for removing makeup. You can pretty much use it anywhere because you don't have to rince and I would say that's the main feature of this product.

I was really excited to try this as I didn't know whether it would be able to remove makeup and still be as light as and watery as it looks! But it lives up to the test! It removes makeup well, and I love using it in the mornings to remove the little bits of makeup I've missed the night before. Best part, is that it leaves no oily residue on your face like wipes do! I can easily see this becoming part of my daily routine.

I was a bit skeptical of how well cleansing "water" would work, especially for removing waterproof makeup. I haven't been wearing a lot of makeup lately because I can't be bothered removing it! but I put some on to try this out, and I was shocked at how well it lifted everything! I only needed to use one cotton pad (both sides) and it got everything off without any hassle. When I use makeup wipes, I find I have to use a few to get everything off, which is a waste when there aren't many in a pack. Even makeup remover liquids I've used from the supermarket don't do a very good job.

The only bad thing I found with this, is that it made my skin oily if I didn't wash my face with water after cleansing with it. But that doesn't bother me too much as it works so great!

The bottle is a generous size and $12.99 is a good price considering how many uses you will get out of it. I will most likely purchase again when I run out!
