There is absolutely nothing wrong with this micellar water it effectively removes makeup well but I find sometimes it can't remove the heavier stuff such as foundation or waterproof mascara. If you wear heavier makeup I would say to use a cleansing balm.

Due to my sensitive skin I don't have too much luck with cleansers. I use Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Oil-Free cleanser and it has served me well over the years but it's not too friendly on the pocket. I read great reviews about Garnier Micellar water and was disappointed Garnier NZ wouldn't be releasing it in NZ until some time in 2015 (last time I checked). I asked my sister to purchase it for me on her next visit home and I am stoked with the results!!
She purchased the 400ml bottle for $11AUD. This product does a great job at removing my makeup, it's almost effortless. The only time I have to put in a little bit of effort is when I have to remove kohl eyeliner. I use 2 cotton pads with 3-4 drops for each. 1 cotton pad to remove all my makeup and the other cotton pad to go over my face once more.
I wouldn't say my face feels refreshed (like how those citrus cleansers with microbeads leave your face feeling) but it definitely feels clean and free of makeup.
I'm not a fan of the bulky packaging or the lid - I feel like I'm going break the lid everytime I close it! But it's nothing a smaller bottle / spray bottle can't fix.
I really feel that my skin is in much better condition from using this product so will definitely keep using it and hopefully by the time I finish the bottles it'll be available in NZ.
Yes yes this product does do what it says. It cleanses and removes makeup. I usually clean my face in the shower with cleansing cream or just water. After I did this, I applied Garnier Micellar with a cotton wool ball. It was amazing the amount of makeup, dirt and foundation I had missed. The cotton ball was very brown afterwards. Because it feels and looks like regular water, it is tempting to use lots and I doubt it would last for 200 uses. If you don't use enough liquid, it doesn't work as well. It is reasonably priced and I think it would appeal to younger people. More mature ones would feel like they needed more than water to clean their faces. All said, I'm not sure it will be too successful. You feel as if you are paying $12.99 for just water. Sounds odd, but if it was colored, you would feel it was better value for money ie more ingredients. I can't believe how efficient this product was. I would certainly recommend it to friends and family. My skin feels great. Bravo Garnier for bringing out a new product, fresh and original that works. Why do I feel like lotion does a better job? I think it's all in the mind and it will take some convincing to change the mind of the masses.
My first reaction was the generous size of this product, and its RRP. The sparkling "water" look was slightly bewildering and I wondered if some slight colour may be a good idea since a small child could take this for a bottle of drinking water. The enclosed advertising for the product is excellent, every aspect clearly explained an d displayed and all Q&As; possible are answered. The cleansing water does what it says - removes make-up, cleanses and soothes. My skin felt refreshed and clear, with an "alive" glow. I found that it was unusual not to "wash off" after cleansing, but of course this is a toner/cleanser combined. Make-up applied afterwards was unaffected, but I wondered whether to use night cream or otherwise. Yes, a great innovation, economical and effective product, I hope Garnier bring out smaller sizes for portability as so many users are people on the move.
Tips: Keep well out of the way of children and possibly beware with sensitive skins as I sensed very slight eye sting.
I was not convinced when I received this product that it was actually going to do what it said it was, but after a few days of using it I will be sticking with it and ditching my old cleanser! Like the bottle says you don't need to scrub to get your make up off, and it left my face feeling really refreshed and clean without leaving it dry! My skin is pretty sensitive and it didn't do anything to aggregate this either :)
I hadn't heard of this product before so I'm super stoked I got to trial this and find out about it
Tips: - make sure you thoroughly soak the cotton pad - when using on eye make up hold the soaked pad on you eye for a few seconds and then swipe off for best results
Affordable and good value for money as the amount needed is minimal compared to alot of other cleansers .Having only trialled this for a short time have not noticed and significant differences in my skin condition. It seems to be gentle yet effective . Easily removes makeup and leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. No tight feeling after cleansing or leave your skin feeling greasy. Transparent bottle so no guessing how much is left in the bottle. The fragrance is very light and pleasant smelling. Great that it will be easily available in supermarket.
Tips: Use a folded tissue to use as is just as good as a wipe
So, we were all a little skeptical, right? Whoa. I couldn't wait to trial this, and safe to say I was impressed!
Did pretty much exactly what it said. Only had to rub a bit harder on lipstick and eyebrows also I don't think mine would last 200 applications. I have already recommended to everyone though, it is a great product, will definitely stay in my life.
Tips: I used two pads. One to cleanse and then the second to get any left behind makup.
I'm the kind of person that's super obsessed with skincare. I never miss taking my make up off in the evening. I've tried many types of make up removal products from oils to balms and make up remover wipes. I've heard of micellar water before but never had the opportunity to try it til now.
First of all the packaging is very straight forward, as with any other Garnier products. The lid dispenses enough product, not too much and too little which I really appreciate.
It looks like water and doesn't smell much like anything. There are very few ingredients and it's unscented which makes me think this will be fine on sensitive skin. I have dry cheeks, an oily t-zone and sometimes, my skin reacts to certain products but this was fine. It didn't irritate my skin whatsoever.
Unlike with makeup remover wipes, there is no need to scrub your skin to get foundation off. I was very impressed by how fast it took everything off, it was basically effortless and I was wearing heavy duty full coverage foundation when I first tried this.
I was expecting this to dry out my skin but it hasn't at all. In fact, my skin didn't feel as "thirsty" as it would if I had used a different cleanser.
I do think that the 200 use claim is only true if you use larger and good quality cotton pads. I also find that the "no rub" claim wasn't necessarily true for things like waterproof mascara and eyeliner. It does take it off much easier than a make up remover wipe though. All you have to do is drench a cotton pad, leave it on your eye for a few seconds and it does the job.
Overall, I'm very impressed with this product. I'm so glad Garnier has come out with a micellar cleanser water that is inexpensive and easily accessed by many people. I highly recommend this and I will definitely purchase more when I run out.
Tips: Use a larger cotton pad instead (Swisspers and The Body Shop are the only brands that I've seen that make them and sell them in NZ). It minimizes product wastage and makes it faster and easier to get to all areas of the face. I use one side on my face, add more product to the flip side and use it on my eyes.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a Garnier Water - but first of all when this arrived I was impressed at the full size of the bottle! I wear minimal/natural makeup, (primer, powder, blush, shadows, mascara) and this comes off in 2 cotton pads worth of cleanser. It's light and fresh feeling, great for removing everything before bed. My skin can be either oily or dry, but using this my skin didn't react badly at all.
Tips: Much better than cleansing wipes - pour some into a travel bottle, pack some cotton pads and enjoy the fresh feeling without the stickyness regular wipes leave behind!
We were lucky enough to be given a bottle of this to trial. I wouldnt usually use this as I’m a “cloth and water” version of face washing! It was amazing!!!! I am now converted and have upped my face care regime. Felt lovely, smelt lovely, and made my face feel super clean.
Tips: Definitely change from “cloth and tap water” to using this - you won’t be disappointed!
