Another addition by Garnier to their Micellar range. The packaging is similar to other Garnier Micellar bottles and comes in a decent 400ml bottle. The product needs a good shake before use so you get an even distribution of the oil and water otherwise you’ll just end up with a lot of oil on your cotton wipes/cloth. I do have dry and sensitive skin but this product is easy to use and quite gentle on the skin.I found that it was very easy to remove my make and especially waterproof mascara. I just needed a few wipes with out any hard rubbing and was able to get off my heavy eye make without much effort. It did not irritate my skin at all and did leave it feeling quite soft. However I did find that it left a greasy residue after use (so it certainly doesn’t dry out your skin) and even though it say no rinsing required, I had to use my foaming wash to get rid of the oily feel and achieve that complete clean feel. It does have a pleasant smell to it but personally I just like my cleansers to be fragrant free. ( but that’s no biggie, it just comes down to personal choice) Overall a good product and excellent makeup remover, however not a face cleanser. I will continue to use it for makeup removal but have to follow up with my normal face cleanser for a complete clean feel.

Tips: Would work well for heavy makeup wearers. Also I little bit of product goes a long way.
I love the soothing purplish colour, the beautiful scent, and how it removes my waterproof eye and lip makeup easily with no tugging and pulling. 2 cotton pads soaked with the product are needed to remove all my eye makeup.
Another 4-6 cotton pads are needed to remove my thin foundation, too much work needed. I probably would need 10 cotton pads if I’m wearing long wearing foundation! From what I’ve used so far I think the bottle isn’t going to last me 4 weeks. That and the need to use a lot of cotton pads make it much less cost effective and more work than my usual oil cleanser.
The bottle says “Non greasy - No rinse off” - on the contrary I find it’s too oily for my whole face, I still have to use gel cleanser afterwards. I suspect it’s also causing mini breakouts on my forehead and chin at the moment (I don’t normally have breakouts like that). Pity that, as I really like how it removes my waterproof eye makeup, thus the 4lippies rating. Maybe it should be marketed as an eye and lips makeup remover instead of for eyes and skin.
It is suitable for contact lens wearer, I find it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I’ll keep using it as eye and lips makeup remover but would stop using it on the rest of my face.
Tips: Very effective in removing waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, and waterproof lipstick.
Don’t use it for the whole face if you have sensitive/acne prone skin.
First off, let me start this by stating my very first impression was not good. And first impressions stick right? The lid was broken (I was sent it to review), so the product had leaked EVERYWHERE. The lid felt flimsy compared to the other Garnier Micellar products I have (which have same design, same bottle etc). The break also meant the lid didn't seal so that was fun in a product that you're meant to shake before using! And it meant the air was getting into the product, introducing bacteria and potentially spoiling it quicker.
REGARDLESS, the product didn't really do much?! At the end of the day it didn't really remove my makeup. Yet the other Garnier Micellar product I have (just the normal bog-standard one) pulled heaps of foundation and most of my waterproof mascara off.
The delicateness of this product is definitely true. It didn't sting my eyes or cause a rash or redness on my very sensitive skin. To be fair, it did feel nice on my skin - there was no heavy residue or feeling you were being smothered by the product. But it also didn't cleane or soothe. The taste (cause yes, you can use this to remove lipstick and that generally means a wee aftertaste) is putrid too. Just be warned.
I have to say too that I'm a little bit hoha with products that demand a high throw-away count. The instructions state to apply with a cotton pad and given I'm trying to be more mindful about sustainability and kaitiakitanga in all aspects of my life, chucking out two cotton pads a day (at least) just to clean my face seems wasteful.
I'll be sticking to my regular Micellar water (with my homemade reusable makeup wipes) and sadly I can't recommend this product.
Tips: Make or buy some reusable makeup wipes to lower your impact on the environment if using this product.
I didn't see that much could be wrong with this product that markets itself as able to clear away make up and impurities while leaving skin feeling clean and smooth. Well, unfortunately the strange scaly residue that was left behind on a couple of occasions (a bit like when you would put PVA glue on your hand as a child and peel it off for fun) was just too unpleasant to get over. It did remove eye makeup fairly effectively but the way my skin felt after was not for me.
Tips: Maybe just stick to using it as an emergency eye make up remover and don't use it on other parts of the face??
Bought this specifically for a micellar water that removes mascara properly. I have the Better Than Sex mascara that’s NOT waterproof, after multiple attempts to thoroughly remove the mascara using this micellar water, I was still seeing mascara appearing on baby wipes and it wasn’t just small smudges.
It is gentle, but it definitely doesn’t remove waterproof eye makeup like it says.
Tips: This is a good product, if you’re using it as a normal micellar water and still keep your eye makeup remover on hand. But if you’re looking for a micellar water that will also remove mascara/other eye make up, I’d reccomend hunting through more reviews
I have previously tried the normal version of Garnier's Micellar water and I thought it was a good product for someone who wore minimal makeup and just needed a good first cleanser. With the addition of oil, I found this product to be much more better at taking off stubborn makeup. I thought this did a better job at removing mascara and light-medium coverage foundation. The best part? You don't get that stingy sensation if you've got a sensitive eye area, and it's safe around contact lenses. In total, I probably wouldn't buy it again because I've already got a holy grail eye makeup remover but I would recommend it to my friends who don't wear the heavy duty makeup I do!
Tips: Soak the cotton pads with the water and hold it over your eyes for a 30 seconds. It'll help break down your eye makeup making it easier to wipe away.
