Tips: When taking off your makeup with the vitamin c micellar water make sure to soak the makeup pad to get the best results and after taking off your makeup apply once more to leave your skin extra clean and glowing.
I think the yellow colour is a bit off-putting - yellow often means citric kind of ingredients which are irritating. BUT this ingredient list is actually pretty good (apart from the fragrance). It's got castor oil which is cool! I wear heavy makeup and found this removed it really easily and thoroughly - just like any micellar would, I would say. Maybe a bit less irritating than others. This one is just a bit more expensive for only 400ml.
Tips: I use a microfiber cloth with this micellar water before washing my face with the Dove sensitive bar.
I love that this is cruelty free! It has a nice light fragrance and is really good at removing makeup, but not so good at removing mascara. The brightening vitamin c sounds great, however I haven't noticed any brightening affects. But maybe I just haven't been using it long enough to see the effects. I love that it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean and not dry at all. It's great for those times you're feeling lazy or are in a rush and don't have time to wash your face properly! It's also great value for money so you can't go wrong!
Tips: Might pay to use an eye makeup remover alongside this as it's not so great removing mascara.
The original micellar water by Garnier is a go-to for me, and so I was excited to receive this product from Beauty Review to review. This micellar water is at least equally as good at removing makeup without irritation, maybe better. I don't use waterproof makeup much so I can't speak to that but for my everyday light makeup this does the job perfectly well. I'm not so sure that it removes everything "in one gesture" though, but it's not a biggie. I normally rinse of my micellar water but for the purposes of this review I left it on for a few hours and I can confirm that it caused no redness or irritation to my sensitive skin :) I like the added benefit of vitamin C. My skin did look glowy with it on, to be fair I have already been using vitamin c in my skin routine for months but none the less it felt good on my skin.
The negative for me is the fragrance. Aside from the fact that I would feel more confident leaving it on my skin if it was fragrance free, the fragrance that they used is just not nice. The only use for fragrance is the idea that consumers enjoy the product more if it smells good, but it would be a better user experience if it had no fragrance at all. The fragrance smells distinctly like the orange scent you get in harsh cleaning products like all-purpose disinfectants or toilet cleaner. Rather off-putting, when you are putting it on your face. I was surprised to find that the product itself is actually very gentle on my skin. Take away the fragrance and I would definitely purchase it ahead of the regular one.
I loved this product because usually when I get home I am too tired to do a full intense makeup clean, this is so quick and easy to remove make-up without make your skin feel dry. You also feel super refreshed afterwards because of the vitamin C which revives and brightens your skin.
Tips: I would use a soft cloth that will absorb the liquid and be gentle on your skin.
I use the Garnier Micellar Water Vitamin C every night before bed to remove makeup and clean my skin. I love it! It's so effective and a light, gentle product. I use it with a reusable makeup pad which is effective. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't effect my skin at all, so I recommend it if you have sensitive skin. My skin looks brighter and even after using it. I love that it's made sustainably, cruelty free and with recycled packaging. Really recommend this if you need a gentle product to brighten, remove makeup and cleanse your skin.
If you’ve tried any of garniers other micellar waters then you’ve basically experienced this one. They’re pretty much the same in consistency and effectiveness. Now that’s not a bad thing! They work as they say they do, and are a decent price!
The consistency is very liquidy, which I have never minded in the past but recently I’ve been using a more creamy and thick micellar product so in comparison to that I don’t love how watery this product is, as I feel like it leads me to use more to remove my makeup.
It smells great with the vitamin C, a citrusy smell that does make me feel like my face is more refreshed after use. I’m super clumsy and managed to get a lot in my eyes and that didn’t hurt at all either which is also a plus.
The packaging is pretty standard and easy to use, flip open the lid, pour onto a cotton pad and wipe off your makeup.
It managed to get off some stubborn eyeliner of mine pretty well, but I feel like I’ve used better makeup remover products in the past. It didn’t upset my sensitive skin whatsoever which was very appreciated.
Overall I think it’s about what you expect for the price, does the job and smells great.
I have always struggled with Micellar water in the past, it often stung around the eyes and didn’t remove makeup as thoroughly as I would like. At the moment, because of mask wearing, I’m not wearing foundation but continue to wear eye makeup. I found that this micellar comfortably removed oil residue from my skin and didn’t cause any stinging when removing eye make up. And yes, skin does look a little brighter after use. It is easy to use, does what it says on the bottle and left my skin feeling clear and hydrated. It’s not my favourite removal / cleanser product, but it does the job.
Vitamin C is known to help skin glow. As the product also claims to give a glow to skin. I got the glow after I removed my makeup with it in first go. Even my husband noticed lol! I have sensitive skin, it didn’t give me any tingling sensation nor it irritated my eyes. There is a subtle scent of lime which I found refreshing. I had no trouble in removing makeup with it. The packaging is nice and the amount of product is very good for its value. I highly recommend this product.
I love this micellar water. My favourite way to use it is instead of cleanser in the morning, which is probably a little controversial in the skincare community. I've noticed my skin looks better if I only rinse my face with water in the morning, but it never feels right to apply other skincare products after just rinsing with water. This micellar water is exactly what I needed to get a more clean feeling without having to do a full cleanse. It's also effective at removing the surface layer of makeup or sunscreen and makes cleansing so much easier at the end of the day. It also works as a lazy cleanse when you're too tired to do a full skincare routine at night, so I love the convenience of it.
It doesn't leave skin feeling stripped which I've experienced with a couple of other micellar waters I've tried in the past. It also leaves skin looking even in comparison with other products that have made my skin look patchy, but I don't notice significant brightening immediately after use. However, I'm a massive fan of vitamin c in skincare so I appreciate this ingredient even if its effects aren't visible straight away.
The only negative aspect of this micellar water is that it has a fragrance that reminds me of kitchen cleaning sprays. The fragrance made me a little wary that it would be too harsh, but I've used it on the eye area to remove mascara and it didn't cause any irritation. I think this would be suitable for some people with sensitive skin, but if you have reactions to fragrance it would be best to avoid it.
Overall this is a gentle yet effective product and has been a great addition to my skincare routine.
Tips: If you're ever feeling too tired to do a full skincare routine at night, use this to quickly cleanse and remove makeup, then pop on some moisturiser.
