Garnier Organics

I was lucky to get to trial this micellar water, I use micellar everyday so know what I like and don't like!

The packaging of this micellar is different to what we're used to from Garnier, presumably to differentiate the "organics" brand. But in terms of effectiveness, there is no difference. Both have a pop top cap and are easy to use.

It has a light floral scent which I like and my skin was not irritated by it at all, it also didn't sting my eyes which some brands have done.

Overall this is a really nice micellar, it removes my foundation and eye makeup effectively and leaves my skin feeling fresh. It's a product I would use again.

Tips: I always use micellar after cleansing to remove any residue makeup!

Convenient and Effective - A must have

I use Garnier SkinActive Cleansing Micellar Water every morning, so I was excited to try Garnier Organics Cornflower Micellar Water. This trial came at the perfect time for me; I had just run out of my usual micellar water and had tried a different brand that I had been gifted. Unfortunately, my face didn't react well and it resulted in the dreaded breakout. So I was hopeful that Garnier's Cornflower micellar water would not contribute to the problem, and maybe even help combat the problem... and it did! Within a couple days of daily use, my pimples had reduced and no new pimples had appeared.

I love micellar water because it's so convenient to use without compromising effectiveness. This product is no exception. Pour a small amount onto a cotton pad, guide the pad over your face and you're done within 30 seconds.

A little water goes a long way, this 400ml bottle will probably last me a few months even with daily use. So I think it's very cost effective.

The water went smoothly across the face, and absorbed fairly quickly, zero residue was left. Within a couple of minutes my skin felt clean and smooth, ready for my other skincare products.

On first impression, a notable feature of this product is the fragrance. Whether this is a positive or a negative feature comes down to personal preference. It's not a bad smell but I found it overwhelming at first. I usually prefer unscented products, particularly for my face. But after a few uses I became used to it, so the fragrance won't prevent me from using this product.

It's worth pointing out that I usually don't wear makeup, so I wasn't able to test it's ability to remove makeup.

Overall, it's a great product. I definitely recommend it and I will buy a replacement once I run out.

Not bad, just a little 'not me' in all categories.

I received this to trial via Beauty Review. I've used the regular Garnier Micellar Water a lot, and love the Mecca one, which is rose and cornflower, so was excited to try this.

First impressions - the bottle is huge. 400 ml is a really decent size for the price point. I love that the cap a) is removeable and b) features a dispenser that is large enough to get a cotton bud into - I find i waste product if I have to tip it onto a cotton bud. The packaging is heavy green plastic, with an image of a cornflower - which I guess ties in visually with the 'organic' claims. The word 'organic/s' appears 3x just on the front labelling, making it pretty clear that that is the angle they're pushing with this.

The liquid itself is clear and thin, just like any other micellar water I have tried.

The scent is overpoweringly floral - it's too much for a product that claims to be soothing. At first sniff I nearly didn't use it, and definitely wouldn't have purchased it.

However, I'd been sent it to try, so try it I did.

I double cleanse my face, so tried this in step one (make up removal) a couple nights, step two (final cleanse) a couple of nights, and also tried it as an eye makeup remover, brush cleaner and on a cotton bud to tidy my eye makeup one day.

Makeup removal - is was surprisingly effective for this. I wet a cotton pad with the product and removed my makeup, then did a second pass and the cotton pad was virtually clean even before my second cleansing. However, it did feel like it was a little harsh, and I much prefer my usual oil based makeup removers. This felt a little intense.

Second cleansing - again, this was effective but felt a little intense, and when I sprayed my face with the facial spray i'm using atm it felt a little sensitive. Of the two, I probably prefer it as a makeup remover followed by a cleanser, but it wouldn't be my first choice for either.

Eye Makeup removal - effective, but I hated it. I intentionally did heavy makeup one day to test it, and while it got all the makeup off efficiently from my lids, it smeared under my eyes, dragged on my eyelids and the scent was too much.

As a makeup tidying tool - love it for this - you can stick a cotton bud in the bottle very easily, and tidy any eye makeup errors. In those small quantities the scent is fine, and it works well.

As a brush cleaner - effective but the scent of course transfers to brushes, which gets a bit much after a while.

Overall, I'll use the bottle, but am not likely to repurchase as the scent and the 'too much-ness' of this puts me off a little.

My skin is combination, tending oilier over summer, and this wasn't stripping - in fact the balance of my skin was nice all week using this - but because my skin was a little sensitive after full face and eye use I feel like this is too strong for my skin.

Tips: Do as I've done and try it in multiple ways, if you have it to try. It behaves slightly differently for each use.

Lovely product

I wasn't sure what to expect from this Micellar water as I have recently preferred an oil cleanser to remove my makeup (generally product lasts longer and more eco-friendly). However, I went out and got some cotton pads to use with this micellar and I was quite pleased with the results.

The bottle and overall presentation of the product is very clean and nice. I liked being able to read all the products and know that it was made from mainly natural things - the smell was not a heavy chemical but rather sweet. For the actual removing itself I was impressed with its removal of eyemakeup (which I loathe to remove). On a cotton pad it swiped across the face really well to take off foundation too.

I did use a cleanser most of the time to remove anything I may have missed. Although the micellar did make my skin feel fresh and not dry like previous ones I have used.

Herby goodness

Ive use the cornflower micellar water for a week and my skin loves it! The herb smell is a bit overwhelming at first but after the second day i didnt even smell it anymore.

It absorbs into my skin fast and leaves it feeling soft clean and healthy. This is a product i will repurchase and use again and again.

Tips: Use after cleansing your skin

Good for the environment and me

One of my new year's resolutions was to try and be more environmentally conscious, so I was very happy to be on the trial team for this organic micellar water. I've very sensitive skin so having minimal chemicals is actually quite important to me anyway.

This comes in a huge bottle (which I suspect will last me months) with a simple flip lid. It's easy to squeeze out onto a cotton pad and I feel I have a good control how much comes out. The micellar water has a faint herby 'natural' smell of some sort of plant which takes some getting used to. I don't really like the smell but knowing that it's not artificially scented makes the smell worth it.

It removes my daily BB cream and eyeshadow/eye brows etc with ease. There's no scrubbing needed and my skin feels nice and fresh afterwards. It's a bit of a struggle against waterproof makeup, which doesn't surprise me considering it's just a micellar water. I can maybe rub off eyeliner with it but it doesn't stand a chance against my waterproof mascara.

Overall a great micellar water that performs just as well as all the previous ones I've used. Depending on the price of it BR might have just converted me to buy this the next time I run out!

Not the best

I tried this several times instead of my usual go to Micellar. And I wasn't a fan. First it has a really strange smell. Not a pleasant one at all. It definitely does what it is supposed to. It removes make up of my face with ease. It took some convincing around eye makeup, a wee bit of scrubbing to get the dregs of mascara off. It doesn't feel like anything on the face, doesn't leave an oily or sticky complexion which I also enjoyed. Compared to my usual, this isn't something I would gravitate towards again.
