Garnier Organics Lemongrass Detox Gel Wash Reviews

I have been using the Lemongrass Detox Gel Wash for about a week now, and even though I love that it’s vegan and made with organic ingredients it just wasn’t for me..

The smell is extremely strong, but it may be just off putting because I don’t like the smell of lemongrass.

It does do what it says by removing dirt and doesn’t dry out the skin afterwards but it doesn’t give a really good clean feeling after using it. I sometimes find this happens with gel washes rather than cream washes. I sometimes feel I need to give my skin an exfoliate afterwards to make it feel more clean and completely get rid of all dirt.

I will sadly not purchase this in any future skincare shopping.

The Garnier Organic Lemongrass Detox Gel Wash is packaged in a slender pump bottle, made from recycled materials. The design and look of the packaging is really nicely done - you know you're getting a more natural product, and it's functional. The pump dispenses product well,and means you can keep it in the shower and not risk water getting inside.

The lemongrass fragrance is perfectly done - not too strong, but also strong enough that you can enjoy it for a while after use.

The gel is so refreshing to use - everything about it awakens the senses - the scent and the cooling feel of it on your skin.

It definitely balances my skin and the oil does stay at bay, I think you'd want to be careful of over use as it could be drying.

I did find it struggled with longwear makeup - and I wouldn't want to use it around my eye area, so I'd need a seperate makeup remover. This is the only reason I've marked it down.

I have combo skin with a very oily t-zone, so I do appreciate a nice gel product for mopping up that grease!

The pros. - The scent is really wonderful - the lemongrass is fresh and zingy, but not overpowering. - The bottle is easy to hold, and a generous size. - The pump lid is very secure. - A good price. - It leaves skin feeling fresh and clean, and not too tight after use. - It definitely mattifies and my pores look smaller.

The negatives: - It's a once-a-day product for me. Any more than that and I think it might become drying. I think if you have incredibly oily skin you could use this daily, but for this oily girl it's just far too stripping and harsh for even occasional use.

All up, for a vegan and organic product, this is worth the money and a pretty decent cleanser.

The Detox Gel Wash was my favourite product by far. The 150ml bottle is slim in size, the pump although a bit flimsy (mine had fallen off in transit) the actual bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic the Lemongrass scent of the wash is devine, it's really refreshing and does not sting your skin at all! I didn't feel as thought the gel wash stripped my skin and It felt soft afterwards. the gel consistency is nice and foams easily, doesn't feel sticky or drying. I would use this product again

The face wash from this range is a gel wash that foams up really nicely. It leaves your skin feeling very clean and refreshed...but it feels like it leaves your skin very tight and dry. If you have normal to dry skin I wouldn’t recommend using it.

After using this product my skin feels a lot more clean and refreshed. It feels really gentle on your face but leaves your skin feeling fantastic. I suffer from dry skin and this wash left my skin still feeling hydrated after use which is a major plus for me. Love this gel wash, it definitely is a must have

I love that it is a gel wash with a pump lid. So ideal for the shower, and stops mess/wastage. When I first used it I did three pumps however far too much product came out. I found that one is actually plenty which is great, it foams nicely (without being drying). I like how I can lock the pump lid to that I can take it with me while travelling. The packaging is cute and refreshing, and suits the theme of the range.

However, the lemongrass smell is very intense and almost over the top, and I didn't like it at first. I've grown to kind of like it (it is sort of invigorating, a good scent for waking up in the morning) but if you don't like strong smells you may not be able to get past the scent.

I found that even when using it in the shower, once I applied the toner I had some residual makeup come off on the toner pad. I don't usually use toner on a pad (I usually use a spray one if any), so I'm not sure if this is something that happens with all the cleansers that I have been using and is due to my technique, or if it is this cleanser only. I think a double cleanse is worth doing either way/just in case.

It doesn't leave a squeaky clean/tight feeling which is great, although I do feel like my skin feels dry if I use the full range together (cleanser, toner, moisturiser). I think that while I'll keep using the cleanser as we go into the cooler months, I'll pair it with a richer moisturiser.

I was so excited to try this product alongside the toner and moisturiser- as they’re all vegan/natural-based products and suitable for sensitive skin which is right up my alley!!! I like the packaging colour scheme- the green and white combo with a see-through plastic so that you can see the gel cleanser inside! I also like that on the back, it’s got the list of ingredients and where they come from (the natural source), which was really cool! I also loooove that this has a pump! And it locks closed as well! It was so easy to use, not too stiff or anything so that you can control how much product comes out. The texture of this gel is really smooth and sort of foams a bit when it’s applied and spreads really easily! Really liked the texture of this, and only a small amount is needed. It smells really fresh and like lemongrass! If you don’t like lemongrass you won’t like this cleanser haha. I found the scent quite fragrant at first, but I didn’t really remind the smell and got used to it the more I used it, I like the freshness! My sensitive skin did not react at all to this!! And my skin didn’t feel tight or dried out at all! It felt clean and freshened! Overall I really like this cleanser- it worked really well on my skin. It’s my favourite from the trio! I will definitely keep using this and would even repurchase it!

This was a lovely gel cleanser, and unlike many cleansers out there, I didn't find it to dry my skin out at all. My skin felt fresh and clean afterwards, and didn't feel tight at all, which I really don't like about many cleansers! The smell is fresh and delicate and is great for first thing in the morning. I found the consistency of the cleanser to be a little bit runny, so had to be careful it didn't slip off my fingers as I was pumping it out. Overall I found this cleanser to be easy on the skin, while still feeling like it gave me a good clean.

Thanks BR for the opportunity to trial this product! This is a gel wash for normal to combination skin. The lemongrass smells amazing, and the gel consistency foams slightly when used. A little goes a long way so the bottle will last a long time. The bottle is clear which is great because it’s so much easier to know when you are about to run out. It also has a pump top, which is always my preference for face washes. The design on the bottle is super cute too.

After using, my face feels really clean but not dried out. My skin has been feeling great since using this face wash along with the toner and moisturiser in this range. I haven’t had any pimples and my skin is hydrated and shine free. This is my new favourite face wash and I will definitely be repurchasing when it runs out. Highly recommend!
