Garnier Pure Active 3 In 1 Cleansing Mask Review

This is another 3 in 1 product from the Garnier skincare range and it was a pretty interesting product to try out. I have to say that it wasn't my favourite (the charcoal one is still the best), but it did a good job of cleaning and exfoliating my skin. I prefer to use these types of scrubbing cleansers a few times a week and always after wearing makeup. It's designed for oily to combination skin which helped to make my skin less oily but I didn't see much improvement in the areas of my face with blackheads such as my nose and chin.

Personally I found the clay to be quite thick which made washing the mask off more difficult so I would recommend using a washcloth/face halo or using the mask in the shower when I wash my hair. Overall this product worked great and I would highly recommend it for those with greasy skin and imperfections but I think the scrub might be too harsh for those with very sensitive skin.

This is a really nice all in one product that comes in really handy. I like how you can use it in 3 ways, however I think you have to be careful about the way you use it. Since it is a clay mask it can really draw out all the moisture in the skin, but in a bad way. It might not be good for your skin to exfoliate and then use a drying mask on top of that all the time. However, this is a really good product to use once or twice a week. Something else to note is that it can kind of tingle when you use it as a mask, so if you aren't a fan of that, you may want to try something else. As someone with more dry skin these days, I don't think I'll be using this product more than once or twice a week. If you have very oily skin, you might want to look into this!

They had this on sale at my local new world so I ended up saving about $5 of each one I brought. I topped up on this and the charcoal one that is very similar. I prefer this over the charcoal one - they are very similar with the 3 in 1.. but the charcoal one I find just a bit harder to clean off and the charcoal gets built up in my eye corners or I find charcoal spots in places where I’ve missed rinsing it off.

This is a great price for what it does. It really acts as my cleanser and scrub at the moment and that’s it. I have used as a mask a little but time wise I prefer as the cleanser and scrubber for my skin at the end of the day.

It’s a pleasant smell and texture - not too strong. The texture is a creamy pasty consistency that spreads well.

As a mask I found a little drying and itchy but that’s understandable.. for the purpose I brought it for I don’t really need that function. If I’m going for a mask I prefer a hydrating one so if you have oily or blemish prone skin this could be an option for you.

In terms of scrub I don’t mind it. The size of the beads is quite big but they are sparse so it doesn’t rub your skin raw it’s just enough exfoliation to smooth your skin.

As a cleanser it’s been good it scrubs and cleans my skin managing to remove the days light makeup quite well except for eye makeup. It cleans and freshens my skin leaving it smooth. I have quite good skin without too many blemishes but I have noticed larger pores and a few blackheads so I am trying to target those. This has helped smooth them and make less noticeable. But I still need some work!

For the price it’s pretty good. Depending on what you want it for there may be better out there. I’m happy with it for the price I paid but if I found something that did a better job for a higher price I could be easily swayed. So I’m not 100 percent committed to using again.. Just while I want a cheap and cheerful.

I tried this product with all 3 methods, I prefer the wash as I find chemical exfoliants are less harsh on the skin but the mask was not bad and did very quickly so is good and gave a very soft and clean skin feel. Overall it is good value for money as you get a lot out of the one product.

I first tried it as a mask, a little product went far and was easy to apply. It smelt nice and fresh and did not sting at all. It dried really quick and was easy to remove. After removing skin had slight tightness and skin felt smooth. I next used it as a scrub and whilst being gentle compared to some harsh and abrasive scrubs it was still abrasive enough to actually remove old skin. I don't think I would use an exfoliator as an everyday wash. Overall great product that I would definitely use again.

To start off, I have oily combination skin that gets oily around the t zone on my forehead and nose. My skin is also sensitive. I used this product in the three separate ways it states it can be used for: cleanser, scrub and mask. While these products were fien to use as the three separate functions I found that the results were the same and that the actual function to the three different ways ended up being the same. So to me this product is more of a versatile product that basically does all three functions when you use it. However I have only been using this product for a week so I will need to keep using it and testing the results. Especially how it performs as a mask and how my skin improved over time.

As a cleanser this product was great at cleaning my face and removing dirt and impurities. My skin felt soft afterwards and didn’t feel like it was dry or had any stripped away from it. It’s recommended to use this daily, however due to the sandy texture of the product I would recommend using less frequently especially if you have sensitive skin.

As a scrub I experienced similar results as the cleanser. My skin felt super soft after using it but also didn’t feel like it was overly dry. My skin felt refreshed. I will say that I think this product is too harsh to use as a scrub on a daily basis for my skin.

As a mask, again I experienced similar results to the cleanser and scrub. This mask doesn’t dry like a normal clay mask. And I didn’t feel like my skin was any different after washing it off compared to the results from the cleanser and scrub.

The texture of this product is quite thick and it has a gritty sandy like texture which is where the scrub part comes in. It comes in a squeezy bottle which is easy to use and decant the desired amount of product out.

Overall I thought this product was great. However I don’t recommend using this product daily especially if you have sensitive skin.

Skincare is something I've always found Garnier has done pretty well, for a brand you can pick up at the supermarket you get good quality products which work. This 3 in 1 Cleansing Mask is no exception.

The tube packaging is convenient and good for ease of use. First thing I noticed about the actual product was the scent, like most Garnier products it is very strong particularly being an acne fighter, if you don't like a heavy scent then this won't be for you. I think of this more as a 2 in 1 product than a 3 in 1. This is as a cleanser it is exfoliating, so having them listed separately seems like an extra claim. It does work hard as both. This is definately an active not a gentle product. As a cleanser the small exfolliating beads buff away and leave your skin feeling very clean and smooth, but I did find it left mine feeling quite tight so was too harsh for me to use daily. I also found it quite messy and so preferred to useit on yhe shower. I did try this as a mask and found this was very drying but I used to during a breakout and it helped to clear my skin up.

Overall I probably wouldn't use it again as I found it quite harsh on my combo skin but I would recommend it for those woth purely oily skin types, particularly younger acne prone skin. It would be a great entry product for those starting out in skincare too.
