I love this product teamed with my scrub, the sleek design of the bottle is great and allows me to use at the sink or in the shower due to the pump, it’s also easy to close to take travelling etc. The product it’s self comes out as a black cream type product and when you add water it bubbles up to a foam. At first use it dried out my skin but I think this was the charcoal or saliac acid after using for over a week it has improved. I haven’t noticed any huge changes to my blackheads but as a cleanser it makes my skin feel refreshed and clean. The blueberry extract is not overpowering and smells like your typical cleanser

Tips: Use water to foam up
I have used Garnier products off and on for the last few years with moderate effects. This new product sounded very interesting in tackling a big issue with my skin - blackheads!
The packaging itself is pretty standard, with a lot product. It is going to last me a long while! The formula is a black gel that turns into a white foam. The texture is thick so I need a full pump at least for my whole face. When applied to a wet face it foams and works well into the skin. I have found that it not only gets that last little bits of makeup off (I use a cleanser/micellar water first) it also works well in releasing and clearing oil. I find that my skin is plump and not as oily, yet still has moisture.
It has quite a strong smell, almost like Lynx body spray. I don't mind it, but I could imagine it might put some people off.
Over the last week of using this product I have noticed that my blackheads are less prominent, smaller; and overall my skin has cleared up quickly. I will definitely continue to use this product and see how my skin continues to clear up!
I was very impressed with the results of this gel wash, it really reduced the number of blackheads and made my skin a lot less oily, which is exactly what it claims to do. It took about a week or so to actually notice the results, but it was definitely worth it.
The packaging is fairly standard, plastic bottle with a pump, and the consistency is more on the thin side as far as gel is concerned. It has quite a strong scent, almost like aftershave, but it isn’t too overwhelming and is easy to get used to. You get a decent amount of product and it is definitely worth the price.
It wasn’t as dark as I was expecting, and lathered up quite nicely. I also noticed my makeup stayed matte for a lot longer after using this in the mornings, so that is definitely a bonus for people who have oily skin and wear makeup daily.
Overall I was impressed with the product itself and the results I got from using it, and I’d definitely recommend it to anybody with blackheads or oily skin.
I was pleasantly surprised with this product, I didn't think i'd like it as much as I did.
Frustratingly i've continued to get blackhead and an oily T spot as i've got older...grrrrrr I thought it was for teens only! More expensive cleansers never seem to do the trick.
This product comes in a sleek black bottle which I loved and a PUMP!! Which is a must for a cleanser in my book. It has a strongish menthol fragrance to it which was very fresh and I really loved it.
The product itself comes out as a black liquid about the consistency of hand wash. Obviously as it's charcoal based the colour didn't come as a surprise.
I really liked it. It left my skin feeling fresh and not tight and I can see a reduction in my blackheads on my nose.
It would possibly be too drying on non oily parts but I think if you get oily patches like me or you have a teen going through 'that stage' it would be perfect. I'm going to get my daughter to try it.
Tips: It would be great as a body wash for people that get oily skin on their back or chest.
I am quite impressed by this gel wash. I have only been using it once a day, as it does work really well on controlling oil/shine, so I decided that I'd rather use moisturising cleansers at night time.
As I said, my shine has definitely improved and I don't find my skin shiny by the end of the day. I don't have a huge problem with blackheads, just the odd one here and there, but I've definitely noticed that I haven't had any since starting to use this.
It feels really nice on - not too drying so you don't get the tight feeling afterwards.
I am used to using a natural based product where you can slather it across your entire face (eyes and mouth included), so that takes a bit of getting used to.
Tips: - Use a small amount - a pea size is enough. - Lather in your hands first, otherwise it's hard to work into your skin, and then rinse off. - Do not get this in your eyes or mouth. It tastes horrible :)
This product comes in a sleek back bottle with a pump. Which is good because I love me a pump.
The colour takes a bit of getting used to as it is a grey/black but then again it's charcoal so you know.
It comes out like a thin gel. It's great when you apply it as it makes your face feel really fresh as it has a hint of mint in it so it is great to use in the shower.
It cleaned my face really well and my breakouts and blackheads since i've started using it have definitely reduced.
Tips: If you suffer from blackheads give it a try.
This is a thick gel texture, and you need 2-3 pumps to properly clean your face, especially if you're wearing makeup! Despite having salicylic acid, it's not too intense and doesn't burn your skin. It cleans it thoroughly but not harshly. I used this as a wash daily, some days I wouldn't take my makeup off beforehand. It does a great job of taking makeup off! Don't use it near the eyes though, your eyes will probably get quite dry and will bun a bit. I have oily skin with very small blackheads and a small amount of acne that make it less smooth when applying makeup. I didn't see any extra pimples form while using this except for in the first few days (my skin may have been purging??) so this face wash definitely helped smooth out my skin, and I have noticed that my face is actually a bit less oily!! Amazing! This wash is aimed at people with blackheads, but I think it worked better at clearing acne than it did at clearing blackheads. When you use this, you can tell it is not a gentle cleanser, the active ingredients are quite intense, but it definitely doesn't feel harsh or drying. In fact, when you dry your face after washing it, your skin feels really smooth and soft which is amazing! Definitely recommend this to people with oily and acne/blackhead prone skin!!
So I was abit apprehensive with using this to begin with because I usually like to keep away from products that have salicylic acid in it, but I gave it a go and I absolutely love it! Unlike other cleansers I have used, this cleanser doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight right after washing. My usual pimple spots have been pretty empty since using this for a week. On else I run out of this bottle I will definitely repurchase.
Tips: I find that it makes my face feel amazing if I use it after steaming my face for abit so my pores are opened.
I really like this product. A little goes a long way, I barely need one pump to cleanse my face. It is easy to wash off and it feels so lovely and soft. I have noticed it has started to bring some of the blackheads I have had difficulty getting rid of up and out. I am not sure if it has visibly reduced them but I have only been using it a week. And I feel that if I keep using it regularly it will prevent the majority from coming back. I have definitely noticed that it has reduced how oily my skin is by the end of the day which is a definite bonus as my skin is really oily. The only negative I can think of is that I got some dry patches of skin over my face the first few days but that has cleared up.
All in all I am going to keep using this. It is one of the first products in a long while that has made a noticeable difference to the oily shine I get as well as helping me get out some of the more stubborn blackheads.
Tips: Make sure to moisturise properly. And, unless you have a severe adverse reaction, make sure to at least try it for 1-2weeks before dismissing it as not working.
I was quite excited to get on this trial team, because even though I've had blackheads on my nose for years I never really bothered targeting them. I was a little worried that it would irritate my sensitive skin since this kind of product tends to be a bit harsh but luckily it's fine.
This comes in a convenient pump bottle which can be locked if you want to take it travelling. I find that one full pump is too much so only use half a pump each time. The product is a grey gel which turns foamy when I rub my hands together.
It's got quite a strong fragrance kind of like a bathroom cleaner smell. Normally I don't mind fragrance but this was too much for my liking. It does seem to clean my face thoroughly, leaving it feeling lighter and refreshed. I haven't noticed any changes to my blackheads but think I'll have to use it for a couple weeks before noticing any improvements. My face felt kind of cool afterwards, like this had a cooling effect. Not sure if this was my skin reacting to it or if this is actually cooling, but it's nice for the hotter months.
Overall a nice foamy cleanser that does it's job, the only thing I don't like is the smell but that's just personal preference.
