This foaming facial cleanser claims to gently cleanse while brightening facial skin. The product is delivered via a pump bottle which makes for easy dispensing. I find half a pump is enough to wash my face and neck. The lemon coloured clear lotion smells pleasant and is gentle yet thorough. It has not aggravated my sensitive skin. I haven't seen any 'brightening' aspect to my skin, but maybe it will come in time. Overall, I would purchase for a basic, pleasant facial cleanser that doesn't aggravate my skin.

Tips: Try with matching moisturiser for better brightening chance.
I liked using the Garnier Skin Active Vitamin C Clarifying Wash. It has a fresh and subtle scent of citrus and comes as a gel.
I switched from pushing on the pump all the way down to half the way, as it is sufficient to apply all over the face. It rinses well and leaves the skin clean, soft, although dry with my sensitive skin.
The bottle is recyclable, the pump isn't. I am not aware if Garnier offers to refill their bottles. I like that no cotton pads have to be used in the process.
The price is varying from $13 to $18. At $13, it is worth the money.
I would give a friend the thumbs up if they were asking me about it.
Tips: Do not use too much as it will foam a lot.
I was really keen to try this, as I've had wonderful results with Vitamin C products on my skin before. Just like most of the Garnier products I've tried in the past, this face wash is highly scented with Garnier's signature smell.
The Vitamin C face wash lathers wonderfully and cleanses really well, but I didn't notice any difference or brightening in my skin tone. I would recommend it to friends, if they don't have sensitive skin, as it's a nice foaming cleanser, but to be honest, it's pretty average when it comes to improving the appearance of uneven skin.
Tips: Avoid if you are sensitive to fragranced products. This face wash is highly fragranced.
If you’re looking for a budget friendly product that delivers good cleansing, gets rid of your dullness and oiliness, and provides refreshed skin without leaving the skin feeling tight, then Garnier Skin Active Vitamin C clarifying face wash is a fine choice.
Tips: Use in combination with the Garnier Skin Active Vitamin C Jelly Daily Moisturising Cream for added brightening effect!
I just love a facewash that comes in a pump! It's just so easy to use, no messing about with lids. It has a really great lather so I found it really soft on my skin, although that made it quite easy to get in my mouth...(it doesn't taste so great haha) It took me a couple of days to realise that I only needed ONE pump to have enough product to wash my face and neck. A little goes a long way! Did I notice my skin was brighter? No. Is it a good clarifying wash? Yes! I managed to get a line of biro on my jaw (mysteriously) so I thought I'd test it's true power and it washed it away in seconds! My only downside, I felt the scent was quite strong and took a little getting used to. Overall, a really good basic facewash to have in bathroom cabinet. It works wonders to wash away the day (and amazing at washing off sunscreen).
As a preface: I have post-partum, combination skin with occasional breakouts, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. I have been using Ethique's range to reduce plastic consumption and to avoid sulfates as much as I can.
I wasn't expecting too much with this cleanser, it's in a plastic pump bottle and the first ingredient after water is sodium laureth sulfate so I used it with a little trepidation. To its credit, it does what it says on the tin (/bottle); it cleans. I found it to be a perfectly acceptable second step in removing makeup. I also used it in the morning to see what it was like as a cleanser on bare skin, and it was just fine - it left my skin clean without feeling too dry.
I'd hazard a guess that the vitamin c aspect is a gimmick, given you're rinsing the product off before it was a chance to do anything.
Tips: Use as a second step in removing makeup if you must.
I received this cleanser to try in combination with a Garnier eye cream and moisturiser. I mention this because when you try more than one product at once, it can be hard to tell what is making the changes you notice.
In terms of ease of use, this product was well-packaged. It's easy to open and close, the pump makes it easy to get product out and the clear packaging makes it easy to see how much you have left.
Unfortunately, my standard problem with my skin is that it gets dry in winter, my pores clog up and I get zits. This cleanser seemed to cleanse enough to dry out my skin, but not enough to clear out my clogged pores. As a consequence, I think I was using too much moisturiser and ending up causing breakouts.
This cleanser might work for me in summer, but in winter it's no good for my dry skin. I'll have to go back to my oil cleanser!
I'm always a sucker for anything 'brightening', especially with Vitamin C as an ingredient, but this clarifying wash just wasn't it for me. It was fine - the scent was nice, and it cleaned my face well in the evenings (I'm a combo skin girl). I did feel it was too 'soapy' for me though, I was left feeling a bit too squeaky-clean and dry afterward. Unfortunately, there are just too many other good products on the market currently, so I wouldn't bother with this one again personally.
I love Garnier products. Have been using them on and off since I was a teen (35 now). However, this product was kind of a disappointment for me. I didn’t notice any change to the brightness of my skin. The face was fragrance was a bit to strong for me and I think I have come to the conclusion, that I’m not the biggest fan of gel/foaming type cleansers. This would be perfect maybe for a late teen/early 20s person. Not saying this is a bad product, but I think at the age I’m at now, this type of cleanser doesn’t work for me anymore. I prefer a cream cleanser now.
This wash did a really good job removing makeup within the first wash, it also smells really nice. It definitely cleanses well however if you have skin on the dry side and maturing skin it’s not the best. It made my skin feel dry afterwards which I wasn’t the biggest fan of
Tips: Not for maturing dry skin
