My first impression was that the jar was empty. It wasn't until I opened it that I realised the jelly was clear! Which is my first issue with this product. You can't see it. Which makes it really hard to work how much you have on your finger and where you've blobbed it on your face. Especially hard early in the morning when my brain wasn't in gear! More often than not I thought I'd got enough out, only to have to go back and get more on the odd occasion, I'd over done it and had far more out than I needed. But other than the lack of colour, it's a nice product - again it has a light fragrance and a great texture. It just sinks in with no stickiness. It has a an odd stage for a few minutes after application where it feels not quite tight but I guess like its doing something, but it soon passes and my skin then felt soft and moisturised, but not heavy or like it was sitting on my skin. It's a great base for under make up. Which leads to my second grumble - it doesn't have SPF in it.

Tips: Go for little bits and get more if needed - to prevent grabbing loads of product!
As a preface: I have post-partum, combination skin with occasional breakouts, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. I have been using Ethique's range to reduce plastic consumption and to avoid sulfates as much as I can.
I always love a gel moisturiser - I feel it's the perfect texture for my skin and for under makeup as it never moves the base in any way. One surprising bonus about this product is that it leaves a slight stickiness which is so useful as a gripping primer under makeup. I've used this consistently on makeup and non-makeup days for 2-3 weeks now and I am really enjoying it.
I can't say it's helping with hyperpigmentation at all, but with or without makeup, it's such a great product for quick absorption and slight mattifying properties. Also love that it's in a glass jar - although I will always choose a moisturiser that I do not have to put my fingers into.
As with all Garnier products, this has a strong scent so if you are adverse to fragrance, avoid.
Tips: Use as a makeup primer!
I didn’t know what to expect with this but i Love it. Its very refreshing and soothing. It’s great as a base for moisteriser and makes your face glow. I recommend using a light layer, when I put a thick layer it dried my skin too much. Will buy this when I run out
Enjoyed this product. Nice packaging and left my skun looking more plump and rejuvenated, though I found it dried my skin out somewhat. I thought the jelly like consistency would leave you with a glass skin hydrated look but not the case. It does soak in pretty quickly and is non sticky which I appreciated. Also dud not feel heavy on the skin either
Using jelly moisturiser was a first for me - and I was pleasantly surprised! At first, it felt a bit weird - then it just absorbed right into my skin (which was such a different sensation to the creme moisturisers I've always used). What I really noticed was the fantastic base it gave for my makeup! It left my skin looking more smooth. The makeup sat so much better and you don't have to wait long for it to settle. I'm off on holiday soon so it will be interesting to see how it works in hotter temperatures - I've heard jelly moisturisers are great for that. Another win was that it didn't clog my pores and give me breakouts. I always worry about this when trying a new moisturiser. So I'd say - give it a go! I think you'll be impressed.
I did enjoy using this product. Firstly it being a jelly rather then your traditional cream moisturiser was cool, something different. It applied nicely, skin feels super smooth afterwards and it did leave my skin looking healthy and glowing. After 20 mins or so I felt my skin wasn't feeling as hydrated as I would like after using a moisturiser. My skin didn't really have that recently applied moisturiser look to it . it didnt leave me with that tight feeling at all just felt I needed a wee bit more hydration from it. Applys nicely, massages well into skin. Skin still looked great once applied, did have a suttle glow. Nice simple packaging, no strong scent. Lovely product that i do enjoy using but it's maybe not quite the right fit for my skin. I do have normal/combo skin. I still would recommend this product if your looking for a new brightening moisturiser.
This face moisturising cream has left my skin brighter and well moisturised. I have oily skin so hate anything too heavy and this product delivers non-shinny results everyday. Easily absorbed with no tackyness.
Tips: Can be used as a night cream too if you have oily skin
I was really keen to try this, as I've had wonderful results with Vitamin C products on my skin before and I've never used a water jelly moisturiser. Like most of the Garnier products I've tried in the past, this water jelly moisturiser is highly scented with Garnier's signature smell.
The Vitamin C water jelly cream is really soothing on the skin. It does absorb quickly, although I didn't feel it retained much hydration and if I used it as a night cream, my skin felt incredibly oily the next morning. This product is designed for use on normal to oily/combination skin.
I almost feel like Garnier skipped a step and that they should have added a serum to this skincare range, as a serum would provide more moisture and boost the water jelly. Sadly, I didn't notice any difference or brightening in my skin tone.
I would recommend it to friends if they're looking for a soothing moisturiser and don't have sensitive skin.
Tips: I applied this straight after having my upper lip waxed. It instantly cooled and soothed the area, with no reaction. Great moisturiser to use after waxing.
The solid glass jar and easy-to-remove green lid work fine, but as always, I’d have preferred a pump bottle or a squeeze tube for hygiene and product preservation. The ‘jelly’ itself is really interesting. It’s clear and gel-like, but feels very liquid when you’re applying it, then goes a bit tacky on the skin for a few minutes before matting down. Quite a nice, refreshing sensation. And it smells light and refreshing too.
My skin’s very dry, and for the first few hours after applying the jelly it feels lovely – really comfortable and hydrated – but after that it’s like there’s nothing there. I've had to start applying a heavier moisturising cream over the top.
After using it for a month alongside the Vit C cleanser in the same range, I think my skin does look a bit fresher, but not dramatically so. The big thing for me is that my hyperpigmentation has faded a bit, which I’m delighted about. So even if it’s not enough as a moisturiser on its own, it’s definitely doing something good for my skin as a sort of ‘base coat’ moisturiser. And the long-term effects could be even better, given the excellent collagen-boosting, brightening ingredients list.
I was concerned about it being a bit harsh on my sometimes-sensitive skin, and every so often I’ve felt a very faint stinging after application, but that goes away quickly and it’s not happened much.
For such an affordable product (I reckon a jar would last me 4 months at the very least – you don’t need a lot to cover face, neck and decolletage), it’s surprisingly effective for evening out skin tone, but it'd be best for oily skins (which it does say on the packaging) or maybe summer-time use for drier skin types. I may give it another try in December... I'll let you know how it goes!
Tips: Definitely try this if you have oily and pigmented skin; I think you'd probably love it.
Feels really nice on, not too heavy or greasy😊. My skin felt hydrated and silky when wearing face cream. My foundation went on really well over the face cream, with the cream absorbing quickly.
Cost effective👏 and can be bought from a range of different retailers.
I would purchase this again because it feels really light on, easily absorbed and budget friendly.
