I got this soap in Tea tree & KawaKawa from the last BR vault to try something different as I rarely use soap bars, but have been influenced to give some natural ones a go as I know how much some BR ladies love lovely soaps!
This soap comes packaged in brown paper tied up with string, no frills. The soap is a creamy beige color with what I assume is flakes of dried KawaKawa leaf through it. It smells like standard tea-tree oil, not a pretty smell but a refreshing change from the usual sweet, floral and fruity scents of bath and shower products. The soap bar is very large, too large to use whole so I cut off a chunk with a knife to use at a time.
This soap put into action, not a fan. while it's densely buttery when dry, it gets very slimey when wet. Extremely slimey, When I grab the soap in the shower long goopy dregs string from it to the soap tray, like runny boogers.. It leaves my skin literally squeeky clean, overly so I think, I prefer some type of body wash that deposits moisture to the skin and this soap does not.
So I didn't enjoy this soap much, although I would still like to try the charcoal one, it might be different and I've recently discovered with another charcoal product that it's really good for the skin.
I regularly use the soap in both the Tea Tree & Charcoal and Tea Tree & Kawakawa version. Both soaps have a strong, but pleasant tea tree scent, and the kawakawa soap has a nice earthy scent to it. I purchased both soaps to help clear up the nasty acne I had on my back and chest. I've tried everything over the years to help cure and prevent my back acne and only this soap has worked. It dried out my existing acne and has prevented it from coming back. I use it daily in the shower. Whenever I forget to repurchase this, the acne comes back, so I know this definitely works. The soap does come in a very large brick shape which is awkward to use, so I find it easier to cut a smaller piece off with a knife, and to use a small piece at a time. The Tea Tree & Charcoal soap comes wrapped in elegant black and white floral paper. The Tea Tree & Kawakawa soap comes in old fashioned brown paper and string, which I thought was a nice rustic touch. I will forever repurchase these soaps because they are affordable, work wonders for my skin and are all natural.
