I was extremely curious to see how this product would work and i'm very happy with the results! It removes all traces of makeup and leaves skin fresh for cleansing! A little goes a long way with this product although it does have a very strong scent that i can't quite put my finger on

I received this in the staff picks BBBE and I instantly fell in love! I find that the make up wipes I have been using just aren't cutting it, esp around my eyes. I was skeptical to try this, how good could it be? Well, it's amazing! A tiny bit goes a long way too! It feels amazing on my skin, takes the make up off in just a couple of gentle wipes and is then easily washed off with warm water. It smells so good too, kind of like nature which makes me feel good about putting it on my skin!
I really like this product and am very happy with how it works.
The packing is very cute, a metal tin with a twist off lid decorated in pastel colours that look great sitting on the bathroom shelf and it is also very easy to chuck into your makeup bag if you are going away.
The balm is lovely to use, being made with lots of natural oils it feels very smooth on the face and super nourishing. It does have quite a strong scent however I personally really like it. The balm does exactly what is says and really disintegrates makeup! I used this with my fullest coverage foundation and full eye makeup and it all just melts away. However you do need to use a face cloth to wipe away the balm and residue as it is quite thick so cannot be simply washed away with water.
After use my skin felt soft and hydrated. I can be somewhat breakout prone but this didn't feel like it clogged up my pores and it didn't cause any breakouts for me.
I will definitely continue using this and would purchase again.
I would like to start by describing what I was wearing on my face when I first tried this - it was a full face of make-up day which included Gel winged liner, several coats of Lancome Hypnose mascara, full coverage stick foundation, powders, bronzers AND a setting srpay. It's safe to say that by the time it came to wash my face this product was going to get a full work out!
How did it go?: I used just over the recommended amount. It is a soild looking balm in the tin, so I dipped my finger in (softer on contact) and dragged it backwards until there was just over a finger nails worth build up.
It recommends that you smooth/melt it between your hands first then apply to a dry face - so off I went. GOSH it felt good, it melted into an oil type consistancy almost right away and it felt amazing on my skin as I moved it around in circles breaking down my foundation and brow pencil. Once I had it applied good and proper I started in on my eyes. I went one at a time, rubbing it into the general area (the eye liner started to rub away instantly) then I massaged my lashes by opening my eyes and gently placing a finger tip either side in a pinching motion and rubbing the lashes between my fingers. Let me tell you I had great big black pander eyes by the time I had done my thing.
Then I took a warm damp face cloth and like MAGIC it all just wiped away - leaving my skin clean, soft and glowing.
Would I recommend it?: HELL YES! If you are like me and hate using traditional cleansers because you have to wet your face first and it drips all over the place OR you dislike having to use an eye make-up remover first and then a face cleanser then this is for you.
A few last points: I really liked how gentle on my eyes this was, I have used similar balms before and I still find a bit of a build up around the eye area afterwards, but not with this. Also Im not a huge fan of the scent...it almost smells like damp cut grass, very earthy.
Tips: Make sure you spend time really working this into your skin, it's not a rub on rub off product, but if you use it correctly your skin will love you for it.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this make-up removing balm. Firstly it comes in an eye catching tin with a twist of lid. It has a herbal natural smelling fragrance which i love.
The instructions state that you should use a finger nail size amount however I find it need to use more then that to remove all of my make-up. I usually use 1-3 finger nail sized amounts depending on how much make-up i need to remove. I then melt it in my hands and smooth all over my face. It breaks up all my make-up really well. The make up wipes of like magic, i use a warm damp face cloth to do this. It leaves skin looking super clean.
I think this product does what it says it does. I also love the fact that is NZ made and vegan friendly.
I will continue to use this product and will be purchasing as I really like it.
This product has really impressed me. I don't usually like anything oily on my skin because I have combination skin with oily areas. Goodness Break-up Make-up balm is nourishing without being too oily - lovely smooth product that simply dissolves makeup. It really does a brilliant job of removing makeup - even mascara. The texture is balmy and soft. Goes on beautifully and smooth. Smells fresh - not overpowering at all. The packaging is super cute - very cool tin, easy to pack for travel and a very handy size. I am not super fond of digging my fingers into a container, so I used a little plastic scoop to take the product out to ensure that there is no contamination. As mentioned, I don't like anything too oily, so I still used my normal cleanser and toner afterwards on the more oily areas to ensure that my skin is super clean. I love this - will buy again and will recommend. Also perfect for teenagers - so my daughter will be getting her own tin.
Tips: Use a small scoop to remove product from packaging - that way there will be no contamination of the remaining product.
The packaging of this product is super cute. I love the pastel colours around the outside. As soon as you open the tin, you can smell a strong lemon scent, which is very pleasant. Its a nice, natural lemon scent, not artificial smelling, like some lemon scented products. As you rub it into your skin, the lemon fades a little, and the scent becomes more earthy. I was amazed by how much makeup came off my face with this product. Prior to trying this, I was using a cleansing lotion, and I often had to do a second cleanse to remove all of my makeup. Not with this product! I'm very impressed. It leaves the skin feeling very soft and moisturised, without feeling heavy on the skin. I will definitely be buying more of this!
'Goodness Makeup Breakup Balm is a makeup remover that will wipe away all traces of makeup from every skin type. The balm is formulated with coconut oil, avocado oil and certified chia seed oil. It is vegan, free from artificial fragrances and has no added colourants.' The tin has pretty pastel colours decorating the sides and bottom with a limey-yellow coloured lid that complements the colours on the tin. Inside is a solid cake cleansing balm that smells of fresh lemons. Its a natural scent that's not too strong. Only a small amount of product is needed to cove your entire face. The texture melts into a smooth oily formula that can be gently moved around your face giving it a gentle massage. There's no need to wet your face first. I like to take a small amount of the balm, melting it by the heat of my fingers. The solid balm transfers into a liquid and I gently massage it into my skin, starting around the eye area and working it over the rest of my face. The balm breaks up and dissolves makeup, dirt and daily grime. I use it on stubborn makeup such as waterproof mascara and eyeliner which it very thoroughly dissolves. The oily formula is soft enough to gently massage into the eye area. I finish off with a warm face towel to wipe away the residue as being formulated from pure oils the balm does not dissolve on contact with water. The balm is super gentle on my skin leaving it feeling clean and fresh with no residue - just moisturised and soft. I love the fact that Goodness Makeup Breakup Balm is made in NZ and I especially love that it has a "Best Before' stamp on the bottom and Batch No. so you know how fresh it is.
Tips: Keep clean face cloths or microfibre cloths handy. Let a warm face cloth sit on your face for a few seconds to let the oils do their job.
This balm comes in a really cute tin container that is super easy to open, the balm is just the right consistency to use not too firm and not too soft. Using two fingers you get enough to rub over a dry face, using a warm wash cloth all of your make comes off perfectly and you are left with a clean face, I have used a toner after to see if there is any remaining makeup but goodness has removed extremely well. What impressed me was I didn't have that tight dry stripped feeling nor a greasy feeling. It feels very gentle, it's taken away the makeup but not all the moisture. Clean skin and ready for moisturiser (I felt I needed less moisturiser). I have dry skin and using this to remove my days makeup has worked great, I sometimes use a long lasting foundation and it hasn't been a problem the balm has just as a effectively taken this off. But there is more! Eye makeup this balm is so gentle I have used it around my eyes, rubbed it over my eyelashes to remove mascara and loved how all my eye makeup has been removed. This product has ticked all the boxes for me I am a big lover of this balm, and the tin is awesome, travelling it is a great container to put into a bag.
Tips: Once I've rubbed balm over face there is enough balm on my fingers to gently rub over my eyes to remove eye makeup with any negative reaction I.e no stinging or watery eyes.
While I loved my oil makeup remover, I wanted to try something else, and having tried other Goodness products, when I saw this at my supermarket, it just fell in with my groceries. The tin is a good size, and is easy to open & close, even with product. You only use a little, I tend to use the back of my little finger nail, to get about two fingernails worth out. then it's a case of massage into your face - very easy to use. It has an odd smell, which reminds me of freshly cut grass, but i think it is mostly a dandelion smell. Importantly it removes makeup, even thick stubborn black eyeliner, and it is gentle on my eyes. I soak a facecloth in hot water and use this to wipe off, it's also nice to allow the hot cloth to rest on my face. It makes it feel like a treatment.
Tips: You really do only need a little bit.
