The lovely team at beauty review sent me this cool mystery baby care pack. It consisted of the Honey Babe Shampoo & Wash ,Honey Babe Barrier Creme and the Honey Babe Massage Oil. They come well packed and in pretty packages. The shampoo and wash comes in an easy pump bottle. It has a nice feel to it and a light fragrance that I enjoy smelling off my baby. The barrier creme is fantastic, my favourite of the three. It comes in a little pot and is easy to use. It's thick and spreads well. We've been known to have rashes and therefore cautious of what we use , but I loved how gentle this is for my baby. The massage oil comes in a bottle , easy to pour. Not very sticky and gets absorbed fairly easily. It's a great little addition to our bathtime routine. And like it says on it, it works well on tired mamma's too. Would surely consider buying them next time around.

First up we gave the shampoo and body wash a go. A cute pump bottle with the most adorable baby on the packaging. A little went a long way. One small pump for my sons short golden locks and two for my long curly haired toddler. It was a white creamy shampoo and created a small lather that made their hair feel squeaky clean. When dry their hair was super shiny and soft. The one things we coukdn't agree on was the smell. Partner loved the smell he thought it smelt like smokers lollies?? Toddler loved the smell and thought it smelt like chocolate?? I on the other hand liked the smell but thought it was a little strong. It did smell delicious on dry hair but wet hair just a little too strong for my liking. Did the job though and my son smelt deliciously good to snuggle with in the morning.
Following a wash we used the barrier cream. It has been a challenge to find a good barrier cream. Some are too thick, synthetic, don't work.. you name it we have tried it. I had settled on using a baby bottom butter but that too had its issues. This one is amazing! I couldn't fault it. The cutest, littlest, squish of a baby on the box - honestly it shatters my ovaries! Within that a pottle. Great size and seal on the lid. Inside is a white, non greasy but easy to apply cream that leaves skin feeling nourished. It really does work - we used this on my sons groin area as he is in a nappy overnight and for long periods during the day. It didn't clump and he didn't go red, raw or peel.. It did a great job protecting him from the effects of moisture from a nappy. I also used it on my lips and hands - it didn't say not to and it felt great.. soft and nourishing. The smell of this was amazing not too strong.
We usually use a lavender massage oil as there aren't too many out there for babies.. I find the lavender quite strong. So was looking forward to trying this one and I was not disappointed. Again the adorable baby on the box and within a pottle - with a slightly different label design style to the other products a very simple stylish pottle. Twist top lid and bottle stopper.. which I love nothing worse than a product leaking all over the bathroom cabinet after use or if knocked. Was a nice clear liquid so I didn't have to worry about it staining clothes. It was non greasy and readily absorbed while still leaving the skin feeling soft and moisturised. As a bonus my hands have been suffering with the change in season and I think this has helped them.. they were splitting at the knuckle but the skin seems to have retained moisture so are healing nicely.. yay. The size and price are good.. compared to an oil I have purchased for use on myself and the lavender oil for my son it seems high quality and reasonably priced. I think I will be purchasing for myself for my next pregnancy to help with that tummy itch. The smell again was amazing - loved sniffing my son.
the msystery baby care trial was something i was really excited about, theres nothing better then trying to find new products to use on your baby that are natural , its the first time ive used one product for 3 different things and i actually enjoyed it , instead of using all different brands so i recommend more mothers try doing this as the smell is all the same and it makes it so much easier as you know if one product works they all will , one product that really stood out for me was the shampoo&body; wash and i love how it comes with a massage oil but i found the barrier cream wasnt as good as it could of been ( after only using it for a week) but im going to continue to use it to see what happens. the massage oil is great i just wish it came in a bigger bottle which could last longer but it most definetely does calm your baby.
Tips: when using the massage oil squeeze it on to your baby and rub rather then into your hands.
I’ve never done a mystery trial so this was a bit different and exciting! So straight off the bat I was impressed - NZ made, 99-100% natural, recyclable packaging, not animal tested. Ticks all the boxes - but the main thing is its natural. I think in this day and age with everything you hear about chemicals (even in baby products) most mums would prefer to use natural products. I can see this range being in a supermarket, chemist, farmers all over really and I hope it will be - its affordable, easy to use, effective and smells amazing. What more could you want? The massage oil can be used as an everyday moisturiser for not only baby but mum too. And the winner out of the 3 products is the barrier creme - its simply awesome and can be used all over but fantastic especially for dry rough skin and will now be a staple in my bathroom cupboard.
I have used a plethora of products on my son over the past 17month's. I struggle to find something that clean's his skin and hair without drying or being to watery. The mystery trail products 'Honey Babe' by Wild ferns; definitely delivered everything I have been looking for! My sons hair is soft and shiny and his skin is clean, soft and smells amazing. The barrier cream is great I use it on his dribble rash and nappy rash and it clears it up virtually overnight. I would definitely recommend the honey babe products to any mother or mother to be.
Tips: The barrier cream also works a treat on mums dry hands.
I love the products introduced to us via this trial. All are well utilised. I am convinced those products can be a game-changer to the baby wellness industry!
Will I purchase them given the price, quality and overall factor? Definitely! This brand is one of the best (being NZ-made is a bonus!).
Firstly thank you BR for selecting me to trial this on my totddler and introducing this product to me.
I got to trial the wild ferns honey bee range on my toddler who suffers from dry and sensitive skin and is prone to eczema as well, so trialling these was a blessing. It is NZ made, free of all the nasties, all natural and has Honey! You cannot go wrong with that.
I would start with the massage oil and give him a shower and use the barrier cream twice daily. Once in the morning and at night before bed. I also tried giving him a wash first put on the barrier cream and than use the massage oil before putting him to bed. Personally I don’t think the oil
did anything for calming him but more details are in the product review.
These products applied on really well and absorbed into the skin instantly without making it look oily. The Shampoo and wash did what it said it would do leaving the skin soft and clean leaving a mild pleasant fragrance. The barrier cream has been my fav out of all three products. Really easy to apply and the results on my child has be awesome. No red flare ups or marks. yay. It even helped calm his eczema which is great.
All three products are very easy to use and smell great. Overall I found that this did help calm my child’s skin and he did stop complaining about itchy skin. All are packaged and labelled nicely with very brief descriptions on how to use. Price wise I do feel they are a little costly compared to the package sizes but if it stops my child form having rashes and helps calm his eczema than it is definitely worth it. I would recommend this to others as overall I feel that it does do what it says it will. Would be nice if a body lotion for babies came out in this range I would certainly be buying that.
Tips: Great product. Good for babies with eczema and sensitive skin. Does what it’s supposed to and smells lovely as well.
I was selected to take part in the trial team for this product. I was very excited when this package arrived, as first of all it was a mystery and second, it was Wild Fern! I recently discovered the wild fern range and I absolutely love it. The label is a yellow or golden orange ombre base with manuka flowers 'falling' over it. There is also a gold trim along the bottom, and the brand "Wild Ferms' is in gold. There is an adorable picture of a baby asleep on a manuka flower too. The barrier creme and the shampoo & wash have this design on them. The massage oil however comes in a box but is a plain white bottle with black writing. The only splash of color is the Honey Babe label. This may be because the sticker label may come off with the oil? All three products smell the same and have such a fantastic aroma. It's a nice light manuka smell. They all left his and my skin feeling great. I used all three products on my skin first (eczema prone hands) just to make sure they wouldn't cause a reaction. The barrier creme was great. It comes in a screw top tub with a solid plastic seal. The texture wasn't as thick as the eco store creme which I like. It also spread easily and I found I didn't need much. It also healed any problem areas in the same time frame that bepanthen did. (Note:they weren't bad problem areas, we try and catch them out before we actually need the antiseptic). I also found the creme was very soothing and healing on my own (eczema prone) hands. The massage oil was great. It comes in a bottle with a screw top lid. The only thing I found a problem was the tiny seal for the oil hold was a tiny individual pin that I needed my nails to get out. It was small enough that it could get lost very easily, or if your child is quick fingered like mine - could be a hazard. It absorbed into our skin quite nicely and it left my hands feeling like I had just moisturized them. His skin was left feeling nice and soft. The amount that I did manage to get into my sons skin had no effect on his eczema which was a bonus. The Shampoo & wash was also great. It comes in a small pump bottle which if you turn the nozzle left it locks it, or right to pump it. It also came with a locking clip on the neck of the pump to stop any accidental pump in transport. The texture was very much how I expected it to be - like a normal liquid soap. It is similar to the QV that we have been using on our sons skin. I did find that it did not foam much when using just my hands, but when we used a loofah it bubbled up a lot! I found two pumps more than enough to do our sons body and half a pump was enough for his hair. It left our sons hair nice and soft too, and did not aggravate his eczema or his cradle cap. I would absolutely recommend these three products. We will definitely be repurchasing these. The smell is divine and they work exactly how they say on the package - the fact that they don't aggravate his eczema is the main seller for me.
Tips: A little goes a long way with the barrier creme!
Wild Fern’s Honey Babe wow wow wow!!!! What amazing products you have created I am in love! From being all natural, animal friendly, paraben free, in recyclable packaging and made in New Zealand you have ticked all this Mummas boxes! All the products I tried were gentle on my daughters skin, smelt amazing & some even did more than they were suppose to. All information is clearly displayed on the boxes and bottles. We tried the honey babe massage oil - a great 100% natural product that isn’t super oily, easy to use. I also used it on the small amount of cradle cap my daughter had and it helped clear that up. It smells amazing. It comes in a 120ml bottle which is sold for $15.00 so really affordable. The honey babe gentle no tears shampoo & wash - amazing stuff 100% natural, very gentle on babies skin, comes in a pump top bottle for ease of use. Product size is 100mls for $12.00 which is super cheap for a 100% natural baby product. And the smell oh my gosh it’s devine reminds me of sherbert fizz lollies. What’s better than baby smell - baby smell & honey babe shampoo and wash that’s what! And last but not least the honey babe barrier creme - fantastic 99% natural barrier creme. Cleared up redness and prevented further irritation. A babies bottom is very sensitive and it’s such a relief to know that there is a product that is all natural and gentle on babies skin. Once again Wild Fern have delivered a fantastic product with a Devine smell this smell resembles honey cocoa butter. It comes in a 100ml pot for $14.40. It’s safe to say this product is now going to be a staple in our household. Try it you’ll love it.
Tips: Buy it try it love it.
I have really enjoyed using these products on my baby. Skin care is really important for me and I am trying to look after her skin as well as I can for her. This range has the three products, a shampoo and wash, massage oil and a barrier cream. That's all I need for baby skincare so this range is all I need. All of these products worked really well and had the perfect level of yummy honey scent to be used on a baby. My favourite of the three products was the shampoo and wash, this is solely based on the packaging being perfect, the oil and barrier cream I would like in different packaging more appropriate for how I use it. The branding and level of information on the packaging is great and I think it would make a lovely baby shower gift. I like to use complimentary skincare products and love that this range has Manuka honey in it. Manuka honey has incredible healing properties and is something I'm keen to bathe in to be honest. This range worked really well, left my baby's skin in beautiful condition and was easy to use. This range is made in New Zealand which is a huge drawcard for me. I prefer to buy NZ made skin care by far. The products are 100% natural too, it's something I look for in my own skincare but is especially important in skin care for my baby. This range is really nice, I would (and have) recommend it to others and will be repurchasing it!
