This day cream is a lot heavier than what I would usually use, but once it's applied it doesn't feel heavy on my skin. My skin feels more hydrated and plumper, without setting off any reactions (which my skin is prone to!!). I would happily use this as my daily moisturiser, my skin feels fantastic and the wrinkles aren't as noticeable!

I'm always excited I get chosen to trial new products - I am even more excited when these trials are for moisturisers because to be honest, I am a sucker for anything related to skin care.
The first thing I noticed off the bat was the scent. It is quite strong. At first I thought because of the scent that it wouldn't be good for my sometimes sensitive skin. Luckily I was wrong. In saying this, if you are not a fan of strong scents with your face creams then this one might not be for you as I found it lingered for a while.
It is quite a rich and thick consistency, so I can see this product lasting for quite a while since you don't need to use much. Spreads easily and it is absorbed quite quickly which is good if you don't have much time in the morning to wait for your face products to melt into your face so you can apply your make up (I wear foundation pretty much every single day).
During the trial period I stopped using all other face products (ie retinol, toner, a redness minimiser from another brand) just so I could give this product a proper review. I really only used it for a short period of time, but during that time I did find that my skin texture did become a little more even, my face stayed moisturised and dry spots that had been appearing beforehand because of the season (winter) hadn't been appearing so much.
I definitely would use it again but being that you don't need to use much product at all I probably won't have to purchase any more for quite a while!
Tips: You don't need a lot. It is an extremely rich formula. A little is enough for full moisture coverage
My skin can be super dry, but it also reacts and breaks out if Moisturisers are too rich, it can from one extreme to the other. This Winter, my skin has been playing havoc, even with scrubs I have not been able to get rid of the dry patches and dullness. I work in a school, so I can be inside with all the heaters blaring, or outside in the cold, wind and sun.
The consistency of kōtia Hydrating Day Cream is thick and creamy, it has a light plain scent to it, not overwhelming which is nice. It comes in a small tub, but a little does go a long way. I was surprised at how quickly this absorbed into my skin, usually for my skin even when dry, thick rich creams take a long time to penetrate and they leave my skin a bit oily, it can be annoying when trying to apply makeup on top of this. But, this Day Cream has not done that.
I have been using this for 7 days now, the dry patches are all gone, my skin looks like it has a bit more life to it. No more scrubs! It does last all day, at night when I am removing my makeup, I can still feel the cream working on my skin. I have also started using this cream at night after my shower, not as much as what I would use during the day, but in the morning my skin feels lovely! I am really keen to try out the Night Cream now if this is what the Day Cream does :-)
I am hooked on kōtia Hydrating Day Cream now, so I went to check the price - $69 - which I think is a bit on the expensive side for the size of the tub, it seems like they have paid more for the thick packaging (which does look nice, the lid is also secure so no spills), however in saying this, for what it has done for my skin I am willing to pay that, and even after 7 days not much has gone.
Overall, I would recommend this product for anyone who has skin like mine especially skin tormented by this Winter, or anyone who needs a thick penetrating cream without all the mess and oil residue.
Thank you Beauty Review for selecting me for this trial xoxo
Tips: Use immediately after your shower you will get the best absorption, that way by the time you are ready to continue your facial routine (makeup etc) it will be nicely settled in to your skin :-)
This winter has not been kind to my mature skin, and I've found it hard to stay hydrated. Simply put: Kōtia Hydrating Day Cream fixed this.
I love the packaging. It's simple, yet elegant.
Initially I wasn't sure what to expect from a product that uses deer milk, but what I discovered was a very thick, nourishing day cream (does it have a greenish tint? I feel like it does...) that truly plumped and nourished my skin ALL DAY. The dry patches I've seen coming to the fore in the afternoons disappeared.
It's so hydrating I was able to skip using my hydrating primer before applying makeup - which makes this product affordable since I'm now saving $50 by not having to buy primer (which I use every day). I also found it hydrated my under eye area better than my dedicated eye creams. Another saving!
I appreciate the inclusion of SPF as I can get lazy applying this (especially in winter).
The only thing I wasn't fond of was the scent... It was... mature. It seems to be becoming weaker scented the more I open the pottle, but it's still there. If the scent was fresher, it would be a full five kisses from me.
Would I recommend it? Yes. I'll also be investigating the rest of the range too.
Tips: Be sure to use it under your eyes to plump up those lines!
I found this product light and felt cool and wet initially. However it took less than a minute to soak in and my skin felt hydrated after using it for around 3 days. Auckland weather is so changeable of late my skin is a bit “all over the place”. This product seems to have calmed it down and it doesn’t feel dry.
This product is hands down the best day cream with SPF in it that I have ever used. I love it and can't say enough about it! Naughtily I tend to shy away from SPF on my face, firstly because of the 'clog factor' and secondly the sunscreen smell makes me nauseous no matter what brand it is. The Kotia Hydrating Day Cream has no sunscreen smell, I've been using it for around 10 days now and my skin just loves it. There's no clogging or breakouts as I have had with every other moisturiser with SPF that I have used previously. The cream is rich and thick and luxurious, but it absorbs really quickly, and a little goes a very long way. My skin feels so soft, it definitely feels and looks more hydrated, and the cream is fine to have on underneath my normal foundation. I'm really sensitive to makeup and skincare smells/fragrances, but this product is so light in terms of scent that it doesn't faze me at all - even with using the Kotia Eye Cream and Rejuvenating Serum underneath the Day Cream. I can't recommend this product highly enough, and it is going to be my go-to moisturiser going forward. When you find a product this good, you need to stick with it.
Tips: I use this on the backs of my hands as well, and have noticed a definite improvement in the condition of my skin. It's a feel good thing to have sunscreen on them as well, especially with summer on the horizon.
I got an invite from Beauty Review to trial Kōtia Hydrating Day Cream SPF15 and I accepted. The 50ML round container came in a cute, little box. I thought the look of the product packaging was simple but appealing. The font on the box and the container is easy to read. The Deer logo on the top of the lid of the container is a nice touch and emphasizes the brand and product. The colour of the container is an appealing shade of brown with a matte but shiny tinge.
The application instructions on the back of the container were simple: Apply a small amount to a clean, dry face and massage in with your fingertips, covering your face and neck. I done so and the cream fast-absorbed into my skin. I only needed a small amount and could feel it hydrating my skin straight away. It has a silky smooth consistency with a faint fragrance that's not overpowering. There's a good amount of product in the container which will last ages if used in moderation.
Suitable for all skin types, this cream hydrated my skin all day. I noticed when I cleaned my face in the evening, my skin felt softer than usual. It has an added SPF15 to guard against UV which I like. Since trailing this day cream over this week, my complexion has enhanced with improved elasticity. I'm eager to use it daily and see more results. So far, so good.
I like that it is Dermatologically Tested and Made in New Zealand from New Zealand Deer Milk. I probably wouldn't purchase this or any other products in the range as I looked at the prices on the Kōtia website and it's quite expensive. $69 for this particular day cream in the range. The whole range does look lovely and the benefits of the Deer Milk is intriguing.
Tips: A little goes a long way. Rub in properly and let the day cream work it's magic.
The kōtia Hydrating Day Cream SPF15 comes packaged in a card board box that reflects both the company colours and deer logo. The 50ml jar is brown (maybe not my favorite colour) and has all necessary information written on it. I loved the fact that SPF15 is incorporated, even though it should be higher to accommodate for New Zealand conditions in my opinion. It reduces however the amount of products you have to apply in the morning, and I am all for that. I wasn't attracted to the smell, but the texture is beautifully thick. Once applied, the creme is fast absorbing and leaves the skin feeling smooth and hydrated throughout the day. The skin looks healthy and plump after application for a few days and its great to know the company does not use parabens or testing on animals. I would be very interested to trial other items from the range, like the hand creme or night creme.
Tips: Just apply a small amount on cleansed face in morning - will make you feel hydrated all day long!
Hydrating? Yep! Creamy? Yep! SPF? Yep! This is a really nice moisturising cream that while on the heavy side, absorbs so well that it it's not an issue. It claims to be 'rich' and that's a very fair description.
The product is packaged well in a rather stylish jar, and it's full to the brim. At first glance, it looks like quite a 'sunscreeny' formula but it hasn't left a white cast on me. It's very moisturising and has kept my skin hydrated for the length of the day- very important while we're on the tail end of winter! I've also found that it layers well under foundation without much of a gap between products. Great if you're time-poor in the AM.
The fragrance is clean and not overpowering but be mindful of that if you're sensitive to scented skin care.
Overall, I love that it's NZ made and has a unique ingredient. The sunscreen element is a bonus although it's not a substitute for a higher grade SPF!
Tips: No spatula included so use something clean to get to the product!
loved trialling this ! Very unique and have never used deer milk product before, initially I was somewhat hesitant but I am completed swayed now, this is the most moisturising and hydrating day cream I have ever used. I apply this before work and until I go to bed and apply my night skincare routine I can still feel this in my face. my skins is smooth and hydrating and has the lit from within look ! Will be buying this again
