little puff of magic.

I purchased too of these at the recent Women's Expo. The charcoal one for my youngest daughter who has been having acne flare ups, and a sensitive one for me. My girl looked very skeptical when I gave her the one for her, and I could see her thinking "really mum?", however she gave it a go and is really pleased with the results. Her skin has cleared up really well and is now looking freash and calm. The one I got for myself is lovely too. I can't remember the name of the active ingredient but it's a type of clay. I usually don't like to exfoliate too much as it tends to aggravate my skin, but this magic little ball seems to cleanse and exfoliate to just the right level. I usually clean my make up off with a cleanser, and then use this for my second cleanse at night. I use it on its own, but my gitl uses hers sometimes with and sometimes without a cleanser. My skin looks softer and younger and it hasn't aggravated any sensitivities.

Tips: Buy in bulk.

I emailed the company but no response. They are sold on ebay and things for $1, so just wanted to be aware of the difference between the two! Thanks for your reply :D

Hmmm. Good question. The answer is no. I'm curious now about which country these have originated from.

This sounds amazing! Any chance on the packaging, does it say where these are made?

Awesome

I first the black sponge and I relly liked the product because it was really gentle on my face while cleaning it very well. Then I received the white one in my birchbox and. OMG. It feel even better on my skin it is so soft and I really love to use it. Plus i noticed that my pores became smaller and it made my skin look great! I use it most of the time with my cleanser but sometimes i even use it on its own and it works great too. This is an AMAZING product.

Perfect addition to my skincare routine

I had seen this little sponge floating around my Instagram feed and a couple of pages that I follow on facebook and I thought I really wanted to try and see if this sponge could do anything for me.

Luckily I found a few different types of the Konjac range at my local pharmacy so I picked up the natural style Konjac which is the half ball shape. Which on the packet says it helps with exfoliation, cleansing the pores and skin moisturizing. I thought this would be a good one to start with to see how it performed.

Once you open the packet, the feel of it, is like a hard small rock or a kitchen sponge that has been left out to dry for a week or so, I then read the instructions to put it under warm water for 30 seconds and squeeze water from it gently and before you know it, it doubles in size.

Nice and simple to use, buff it around your skin in small circular motions I do it for about a 45 seconds to a minute 15 seconds in each area, (nose, cheeks, chin, forehead) and what I was left with is really noticeably clear looking, soft feeling skin. I was impressed, in saying that I really need to use this twice a day for the effects to really stay, I have noticed my pore size is decreasing as its really getting those pores that were clogged, nice and clear.

Its easy to fit into my skincare routine, I cleanse and exfoliate normally then use this after I have washed off my exfoliating scrub, so my skin is still damp, then pat dry my skin and apply serum and moisturiser.

You do have to look after this really well, as I found it was starting to grow little mould dots, as it wasn't drying properly in the shower. So I had to purchase a new one which I rememeber to remove from the shower, gently squeeze and excess water from it after I finish, pat dry in a towel and leave on window sill with window open to air dry and this one has lasted much longer.

I love how my skin feels after I use this, I will continue to use this and dry different styles.

Is it worth the hype?

This sponge never interested me, and honestly i think its because by the time i got into beauty, the hype around this had died down. However, my friend uses these and told me they were really good so, of course i had to pick one or two up.

I got the normal white one, and also a charcoal one which was supposed to help with pores. When the sponge arrived, i didn't really know what to do with it. It was hard, dry and crusty and in a half dome shape. It looks like a old sponge that had fallen behind the bath and lost for a few months.

However, once the sponge was wet, it softened up and expanded and felt a lot better. I used this with a creamy face wash and massage this all over my face.

I don't really know what this is supposed to do. It does provide a gentle massage, so will improve circulation to my face. I didn't find the white one moisturised my face or anything like that, and i didn't find that the charcoal one tightened my pores either so they aren't effective on the front.

I do like using this, it massages and cleans my skin gently, and I also feels like it cleans my skin more deeply than just using my hands, which i like.

These sponges are pretty affordable, but at this stage, i'm not sure if i will repurchase this. It does provide my skin with a slightly deeper clean, but im not 100% sold on it at this stage.

Not Too Fussed.

I purchased the Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge. I knew nothing about it before hand (or about the hype). I decided to buy one because I liked the idea of a a natural and eco friendly product that promised to control excessive oil secretion, gently exfoliate my skin and tighten my pores.

The sponge needs to be wet before it can be used (and it will dry out again once it's been used). Once wet is expands ever so slightly and the idea is to rub it over your face. It feels a little weird at first as it has a slimey kind of feel to it. I noticed that it does have a very mild weird smell that I can't describe; but it wasn't unpleasant.

In terms of doing what it promises to I am not 100% convinced. I definitely felt that my skin was a lot softer and felt more fresh after using it, but my pores appeared no different after a couple of uses.

Because this product is quite affordable and I enjoyed how the Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge left my skin feeling fresher I think I would repurchase again, I would also be interested in trying the other types in this range too.

Tips: Soak the sponge of at least a minute before use so it can soften up.

Really like using this!

I got gifted this product from my Nana who had no interest in trying a Konjac, I however really wanted to try as they had a lot of hype surrounding them so I happily accepted the gift!

It comes in a white bag with a clear window so you can see the sponge, from my understanding different colours do different things or are better for different types of skin. I have the plain white sponge.

The Sponge itself is a little dome with a string attached to it for easy storage. I was surprised when I felt the sponge for the first time and it was actually solid! I thought it would come soft already but you have to add moisture to it to make it like a sponge. Its a little bit more bouncy/firm than any other sponge I've used...Its a bit of a weird texture but I remained optimistic.

The way I used it was I would wet my face and lather up my cleanser then a apply that to the face, I would then use my freshly wet Konjac in small firm circular motions all over my face for around a minute. When you wash your cleanser off your skin feels amazing! Mine glows like no tomorrow. I almost think of my Konjac as a manual Clarisonic. It's a lot more gentle than using that twice a day so I generally use my Konjac in the morning when I don't want to wash my face with something so abrasive!

I can see a massive difference in my skin when I use this I think its amazing and it definitely does contribute to cleaning up my trouble areas. For around $15 you can't go wrong, would definitely repurchase.

Tips: Wash thoroughly and hang to dry, they do take a couple of days to dry so don't be alarmed if it's still quite bouncy the next day

I'm getting one for my teenage son

I've used this for the last couple of days and I have to say it's an awesome product. I use it in the mornings as that is when I do a more gentle cleanse. It works great with or without product which is interesting to note.

You soak it for a few minutes before using it. It softens and swells to three times the size of the rock hard thing as it comes out of the packet lol.

I needed this actually, but I didn't know until I tried it just how much.

Tips: I use this in the mornings for a gentle cleanse and I use the Olay cleansing brush in the evening to give my skin a more thorough exfoliation. This product is an exfoliator too so I'm hoping to see some good results.

Part of my skincare routine now

I received the Natural Konjac Sponge in the "Beautiful Christmas NZ Beauty Advent Calendar". It's not an item I would have gone out to buy on my own and I'm happy to say it's a sponge that I now have to have in my skincare routine.

I use the sponge every night before bed because I feel like I'm getting rid of all the grime that my makeup remover and water couldn't get rid of. The sponge gently and almost effectively removes the rest of the dirt left behind without irritating the skin.

It's rock solid to start with but light weight. You need to soak it for 3-5 minutes under warm water which I only did the first time I was used it. After that, I just soaked it under warm water until soft which takes less than a minute.

The first time I used it, I just used it on its own and worked it across every inch of my face and concentrated on my nose. My face felt soft and clean afterwards as if I had removed an extra layer of dirt that I hadn't seen there before. A few hours later my face still felt soft and clean but nose on the other hand seem to go back to being bumpy.

The next day I did two rounds, the first with my gentle exfoliating cleanser and the second with my anti-bacterial milk cleanser and again my skin felt soft, clean and more refreshed. Unfortunately my nose didn't seem to benefit whatsoever from the combination.

That aside, I've had positive results with using the sponge in addition to the cleansers on my skin because I've had a few people comment on how good my makeup looks. I have NOT changed the way I apply or use my makeup so I do feel it's because the sponge has created a better canvas for my makeup to sit on.

I wish the sponge would be as effective on my nose as it is on the rest of my face but I guess that area needs something more "heavy duty" like microdermabrasion - which I'm due for - sigh. I'm happy with the results that I've achieved so far.

Gentle Exfoliation

So this is a weird product... I initially thought what will this do for me that using a wash cloth doesn't do already. But I was still totally keen to try it!

When you initially take it out of the packaging it is a hard white round domed lump. It has a white string to it to help you hang it up as well (as it needs to dry out so it doesn't attract mould, yuck). It all just looks a bit weird to be honest. The instructions say to dampen it before using and once it is damp it has more of the consistency of a normal dishwashing sponge.

I have been using this with my normal cleanser and it does a great job at removing my makeup and making my skin extra clean. I really like that this is nice and gentle as well. It means I feel better about using this on a daily basis to exfoliate. It hasn't done anything miraculous to my skin but at the same time it hasn't broken it out either so overall I'm quite happy with this.

I think I will purchase one of these again. It is a nice step to my nightly skincare routine and something that I think helps my skin feel nicely exfoliated.

konjac is a YES

I absolutely love my Konjac sponge. it has a weird texture. It is in no way harsh on the skin like i thought it would be as when you first take it out of the packaging its very firm. I suffer from bad blackheads and this amazing sponge does wonders for my face! i use this sponge with and without a cleanser i find that it works fine with either. i would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!!! definitely going to buy another one soon.

Tips: Everytime you use the sponge ensure to really wash it out as it apparently builds up quite abit of bacteria!!
