Rich and creamy

I must admit I don't think I have ever used a day cream that was so full bodied! After my usual go to toner, I would massage this cream into my face, neck and decolletage each morning. Very creamy texture so I was able to massage (circular motion as per the instructions) quite firmly. It was fine on the days I didn't wear foundation. The days when I did do full face makeup I found it was a bit too greasy. Also I have quite sensitive eyes so I need to make sure I didn't put it anywhere near them, otherwise my eyes would feel greasy/smeary as well.

Tips: Lovely rich texture for my decolletage, so I would recommend for that area, as well as top of hands.

Age Perfect Cell Renewal Revitalising Cream SPF30

I love L'Oreal. Great products at reasonable prices. I was excited to trial this cream. My skin is in it's 6th decade, a few fine wrinkles and can be sensitive. This cream is a mellow yellow colour. Thicker than anything I usually use, this didn't put me off, as sometimes, especially in the winter months, a thicker cream is what your skin needs. This absorbs well, but I do find that I have a bit more oil in the afternoon than I normally have. SPF of 30, which is great. Tick, tick, tick. What I didn't like, is the smell. It's pleasant enough, quite fruity, but I can always smell it! I prefer L'Oreals other face creams, which smell slighty floral, or not at all. I feel if they remove or change the fragrance, this would be great. I would recommend to other, ahem, 'mature' skin types, but would warn them about the smell.

Tips: If wearing in Summer, i would top up with more spf after an hour or so.

Rich and lovely, but...

This comes in a heavy, black-and-gold glass jar with a big, easy-use lid that clicks closed. It looks classy and seals well, but I really don’t like jars. I feel they’re unhygienic and all that product is fully exposed to the air each time you use it.

The cream itself? I love that it’s full of antioxidants and has a good spf. And the texture is delicious; rich and hydrating without being fatty or oily. It’s beautiful to use and feels lovely and nourishing on my dry skin. It does sink in, but it leaves a soft, satin-smooth sheen (not shiny or oily looking), and for the rest of the day, it feels like I have a sort of gentle cushion of hydrating protection on my skin. Instead of applying foundation over the top, which I found can mess a bit with the nice finish, I mix a bit of foundation in with the cream as I apply it, and the result is a luminous, satin look with a perfecting tint. I really like it.

L’Oreal claims it ‘Illuminates, Revitalises, Regenerates’, and I’d say for me it definitely does the first two. As for regenerating (reducing wrinkles and firming skin), I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference, although I’ve only been using it a few weeks.

I’m generally not keen on fragrance in face products, but the softly floral scent of this isn’t overwhelming, and it lingers only lightly once applied.

I do have one major problem with this cream, however. It stings my cheeks a little. It’s not an allergy, and it fades after a while, but that prickling feeling makes me reluctant to use it on my cheeks. I do have sensitive skin, and I notice that denatured alcohol is high up the list of ingredients, so it could be that. Or the combination of chemical sunscreens maybe? I’m not sure.

Because of the jar packaging and the slight skin irritation I get from the product, I won’t be buying this in the future. Which is a shame, because there's lots I love about it. But I’d recommend it to anyone with dry, mature skin who wants a rich cream that protects and nourishes and gives their skin a beautiful soft radiant finish. I certainly won't be wasting the rest of mine; it's still perfect for me as a luxurious treatment for my forehead, neck and decolletage.

Tips: Do a patch test for sensitivity before you buy this. And if you do use it, try mixing it with a bit of foundation for a luminous, all-in-one, cc-cream finish.

Another great L'Oreal Product

I found this cream to live up to its hype. My skin certainly felt softer and looked smooth and plump. I adored the fact it had SPF 30 which meant one less product to put on my face. I do believe with longer term use it probably would firm up the skin and renew cells but a trial period isn't long enough to confirm. The reason I wouldn't use it again is only because I think it would be too rich for my skin. It also takes a while to sink in. Having said that I still maintain I love how soft my skin looks and feels . The cream comes in the usual classy little jar and the gold and black packaging makes it look on a par with higher priced brands.

Tips: Follow the instructions to apply in a circular motion as it seems to absorb a lot easier.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renew Day Cream

I really love L'Oreal facial products as a rule and I've tried and used many different moisturisers over the years. This particular day cream is good and has some great antioxidant ingredients, but I find it just a little on the heavy side for a day cream. It does give nice long lasting hydration throughout the day though. I would use it again but prefer a lighter day cream. But big thumbs up for the SPF added!

Age Perfect Day Cream

This cream comes in a 50ml glass jar. The colour of this cream is a gold hue and is scented.

It is a heavy cream that is definitely suited for mature or very dry skin. I initially applied to my eye area and found my eyes would water though upon re-reading the directions you aren't to do this. This being my reason I gave 4 kisses as I like to apply moisturizer to my eye area.

As for the results my skin looks more relaxed, firmer and more youthful. It's definitely moisturizing and lasts throughout the day. As for the SPF it is winter and there hasn't been much sun. I wouldn't apply too much as it won't completely sink into the skin and you could get a little pilling. I recommend using what you need and it will sit just fine under your make-up. You could also use this on occasions if your skin is getting dry especially with a change of season.

Tips: Don't apply around the eyes.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renew Revitalising Day

The revitalising Day cream appealed to me as has an SPF 30 which gives my skin added protection from sun damage during summer and winter , as I spend a lot of time outside The cream has a nice texture and consistency , just right for smoothing easily over the skin to give good coverage. It has a nice soft subtle scent which blended nicely with my skin. The cream is formulated for mature skin and I feel my over 70s face did feel softer and had a brighter fresher look . I am hoping by the time I am finished I will see reduced wrinkles and improved skin quality and firmness as promoted with the packaging

Tips: There was no actual amount recommended to use but I found the longer I had been using the cream I seemed to need less for good coverage , down to about an amount to cover a 50c coin

Soft & Velvety Skin

Immediately after applying L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renew Revitalising Day Cream my skin feels velvety smooth and soft still feels the same the next day. It is easy to apply although I do find that my skin feels a little bit greasy straight after applying it so I like to put it on about 10 minutes before applying my make-up to give it enough time to absorb. It has a nice fragrance although it is a little bit stronger than I would prefer. I like the look of the jar that it comes in and love that it is glass instead of plastic. I definitely see an improvement in the fine lines around my eyes and another bonus is that it is SPF30 which means that you don't have to apply separate sun protection as well.

Tips: If you are wanting to wear make-up over it I would definitely recommend applying the L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renew Revitalising Day Cream at least 10 minutes beforehand. This is to allow time for it to fully absorb.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renew Revitalising Day Cr

What a lovely product! Instantly hydrating and smoothing on first application. My face felt plump and comfortable on use and throughout the day. A great base under make up for the day as well. Also love the fact that there is additional sunscreen for added anti aging protection. Lovely jar and product has a delicate subtle fragrance.

Tips: You do only need a small amount as a little smooth's a long way.

Very promising results

It's always exciting receiving a new product to try out so when BR offered me the chance to be on this trial I pretty much jumped for joy! I mean who doesn't want to have youthful looking skin in their 50's!! My first impression was the packaging which looked stylish and sophisticated definitely more of a premium product. The instructions on the box were easy to read,I did not not to wear my glasses to enlarge the print this time around and the product information including the ingredients were clearly visible and simple to understand, the glass jar was very easy to open and close with a simple twist of the lid.The first thing I noticed once I dipped my finger into the cream was the fragrance which for me personally was a bit overpowering,I would of preferred no fragrance particularly when my skin is quite on the sensitive side.It did take me a few days for my skin to adjust and there was a slight breakout across my cheeks and forehead so possibly due to the fragrance however after one weeks use my skin had settled down. The cream is an unusual shade of custard yellow and actually reminded me of the dessert creme brulee with it's look and texture which is a slight thick consistency but gave a very buttery light feel on my face and neck once applied and immediately made my skin feel velvety soft with a more radiant look. You don't need to use a lot of product to achieve results so I would imagine the jar would last at least a couple of months or longer if used every day.I have only been trialing this product for two weeks and during this time I have noticed a slight reduction of my fine lines.softer skin with no dry patches and my face looking a bit more radiant but I have not noticed my skin to be any firmer and I'm not so sure it looks "full of life" and "renewed" as promised by the claims written on the packaging but perhaps with longer use we shall see more improvement.I do plan on continuing with this product and at between $40-$50 a jar it is a pretty reasonable price for a quality well known brand which is widely available in store or online from Chemist Wharehouse,The Wharehouse,Farmers and local supermarkets.Would I recommend this product? I think after a longer time of using this cream and maybe incorporating a few of the other products in this range like the serum, night cream and eye cream I would see more improved results and the fact that it does contain SPF 30 and backed by science with proven clinical or consumer studies plus dermatologically tested which makes it suitable for all skin types then yes I would recommend also based on the product claims,my own experience and affordability.
