L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Collagen Expert Retightening Care Eye Cream

Having just turned 50 but with a lifetime of dry, lifeless skin behind me, eye creams are something I'm used to using. I've never used one that I didn't like before, but they all seem to make claims they can't really live up to. Unfortunately this cream seems to be one of those. That said, it's a nice cream that's light, not greasy and easily absorbed and I'm sure is doing good deep down, it just isn't really that effective on my crepey under-eye area, below the brow-bone area or on my ever-present dark circles. I'm not holding that against it, and I've only been using it for just under 2 weeks, so this may improve as time goes by. It's certainly a lovely cream and I'm happy to keep using it and see if I can see any of these miracle effects (tightening etc) that it claims to have. It's a good sized jar for the cost and is easy to use although I found it pilled under my concealer so I'm only using it at night time now, which may affect results. Love the faint scent and the pretty pink colour and the jar will last a long time as you only need a very small amount. Product spreads easily and the customary square pot is very cute and distinctive in my product drawer (easy to spot!).

I have a long and difficult history with eye creams, so I was a little wary of trying yet another one.

Compared to the night cream in the same range, the scent was minimal, so this was a plus given I've reacted in the past.

The texture was lovely and soft, and like the night cream, less is definitely more when it comes to application.

I put a very small amount on the back of my right hand and used my ring finger to pat it around the eye socket area. It absorbed quite easily and left no sticky residue.

After about 30 minutes my eyes still felt okay, so no reaction was great news. I had no reaction for the entire trial period.

As far as tightening and firming the skin, the results were mixed. I definitely felt my eye area was more hydrated, so I was really pleased with that result. But as far as the tightening effect went, results were minimal. Perhaps with more time, this effect might have been visible, but over a couple of weeks, change was negligible.

So while I was happy with the extra hydration this cream gave me, it's just like alot of other age specific eye creams. I probably wouldn't recommend it over any other brand either.

The eye cream is a pretty pale pink, and smells nice, not overpowering. It's quite thick, but absorbs in quickly and seems to be quite moisturizing. I'm not really a fan of products that you have to dip your finger into, however it's quite easy to get out. I'm not sure that I saw any tightening of my eye area as yet, but will continue to use it and see if I get any wrinkle improvement.

I have enjoyed using this eye cream, it does make the skin under and around my eyes (crows feet) look less obvious and slightly tightened. There was some effect and my skin did look a bit better. I’m not totally sold on this product as there are other products that do the same thing and possibly better. I haven’t finished the little jar of product as I tried another product that I’m trialing.

Like most of L'Oreal Paris' moisture products this is a good all round eye cream. Created for 50 plus it's a tiny bit thicker in consistency than others in the range I've used but not overly, and doesn't feel greasy or heavy. It glides on nicely and has a barely detectable fragrance, so not overpowering in that regard. This product has collagen and claims to firm and retighten skin. After 10 days or so of using this, I am happy with the result; the skin around my eyes looks plumper and the lines less obvious. And another thumbs up to L'oreal Paris; no testing on animals for over 30 years!

I received this product as part of a regime trial - night & eye cream came 2 weeks ago & the day cream has just arrived. I'm post menopausal so the inevitable sagging & wrinkles have become a part of life, and one that often pulls us in to try new products in the quest to recover some of our youthful freshness. The cream has added collagen amino acid fractions to replace the collagen that mature skin does make so readily. The eye cream comes in the classic L'Oreal white glass pottle with gold top. The cream itself is a pale orangy colour and slightly fragranced. It's cooling as it goes on. No reaction from my sensitive skin. Two weeks later & I think I can see a difference - the area seems to be slightly tighter and more hydrated. I've been quite generous in my application - I think this will last 8 weeks in total. I will continue to use & excitedly wait/ hope to see further smoothing out.

The cream came in a small 15ml plain white jar with the distinctive L’Oreal gold band on the lid. I found I only needed to use the smallest amount, and as I am sensitive to facial creams around the eye area, from my first application I appreciated this eye cream did not cause me any irritation.

I noticed that when I wake up in the morning my eyes are much less puffy and the circles around my eyes less dark. I certainly look as though I'm waking up more fresh.

I was glad that I could apply to my eyelids, as well as around the eye. Many eye creams do not recommend you apply to your eyelids as it can cause irritation and bleeding into your eye which is most unpleasant however, with this rich eye cream and massaging in as recommended that was not a problem.

I've got dry eye contour skin and I have found this cream is effective to moisturise and nourish. A good product in the right price range.

I used this eye cream in conjunction with the day and night cream, in this range. It was applied in the morning and evening over the trial period. I really like the containers for this product. You can easily get out a measured amount and the consistency is such that you are at no risk of spilling/wasting.

The cream itself looks firm, however, it is actually quite light. Absorbed quickly, I found it nourishing and very much nailed the hydration brief. I wouldn't say that it lifted or tightened the skin around my eyes but the degree of hydration, does indeed, make the lines look less visible. Plumped out the skin, in my opinion. As a dedicated user of eye cream and serums, I found this cream to be an above average contender and if you compare it to other high end products, it definitely punches above its weight.

This is a lovely light eye cream. Comes in a little square container and has no scent. I have been using this eye cream for over a week morning and night. It is a very light cream that goes on easily and blends in well. The area around my eyes is definitely smoother and more hydrated. Skin is very soft and does look tightened. I will continue to use this eye cream as feel my eyes do look more nourished and fine lines not so noticeable.
