One of the best acne moisturisers out there! Isn’t irritations or drying and can notice results in as little as one night! I did not experience a purge with this product, although I’ve heard some did. I used all over the face in just a thin layer, starting with once a day then using twice a day when needed after a while. Lovely light formula, although I did find it could pill under makeup sometimes if not given a bit of time to fully set into the skin.

This spot cream was good especially during breakouts. Is a staple in my routine now, I leave it on before bed and sleep with it and in the morning it works well
This is perfect whenever I feel a spot coming on. Unlike drying creams which my sensitive skin hates, this is a smooth moisturiser that helps stop acne before it starts.
Tips: Weirdly also helped some burns I have from a hot water bottle
Used in conjunction with their Effaclar cleanser (which broke me out) around Feb last year. Personally, I didn't find that this Duo Plus did anything special. I mainly used it around my nose and chin which is where I found I got the most breakouts and where my pores were enlarged. Used for around 5 months and found no difference.
This product was worth the purchase! It helped my skin, reduced redness/scarring and even removed those little bumps!! 100% would buy again, definitely would recommend.
Tips: Ease yourself into it, start by using it 2-3 times a week and then slowly increase so that you skin gets used to it. :)
I officially have a new favourite facial moisturiser! After receiving this product to review I was still a little confused as to what it actually was. A treatment? A moisturiser? A blemish cream? After a little google research I realised it was a moisturiser for acne prone, sensitive skin. Perfect! Exactly what I had hoped it would be!
The packaging is simple and clean, although I wish they would include the words “this is a moisturiser”. I have oily/combination, sensitive and acne prone skin and I LOVE skincare. More importantly I LOVE this product.
The formula is so soft and silky and glides onto my face beautifully, if there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s creams that leave your skin feeling sticky or unclean. This is the opposite of both of those! I can’t get over just how wonderful this feels on my face. It’s has fragrance in it which is disappointing for a sensitive skin product but this will only cause an issue if you’re sensitive to added fragrance. I’ve had no problems with it!
The real test for me was using this after I had derma rolling this week, it soothed my face, didn’t sting and actually improved the redness considerably! After using this for the last few days I’ve had no new blemishes and all the ones I had at the start of this week have GONE. Totally and completely gone. My acne scars are fading already and I’m glowing.
The cream hydrates well enough (if you don’t have oily skin then it may not be hydrating enough for you) but I still apply my Nivea Cream over top in the evenings because it’s my holy grail and I need that overnight moisture!
Overall I am in love with this moisturiser and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
This cream-gel loves my skin. I’ve been using it for the past 8 days and have been using it as directed, morning and night and after using the Effaclar foaming gel. It has the feel of a primer in that it helps the skin feel smooth and ready for applying make-up. Not sure if others felt it could be used as a primer, but I have definitely felt that it helps my make-up to glide on more effectively. In terms of its effectiveness in clearing up redness and imperfections, I’ve noticed a quite obvious improvement in the look and feel of my skin. I would say I noticed the redness decrease after using this in a matter of 24-48 hours, that’s how quick and effective it was for me! I also love the feel of this product on my skin, it feels great, like you are giving your skin the ultimate boost of nourishment and hydration. So the fact that this cream-gel seems to act as a kind of make-up base, pore unclogger AND the ultimate hydrater is just incredible and I personally love it. I’ve had visibly-clearer skin with less redness, and it feels fresher and more supple. It’s a little tube of magic and I’m giving it the full five kisses.
I have really enjoyed using this moisturiser. I would recommend it to anyone with combination to oily skin that is prone to acne. I think if you were drier than combo it wouldn't be quite enough moisture, but for my combo skin it was perfect. I particularly liked it during the day as it worked well under my foundation, it smoothed the texture of my skin and it didn't cause my foundation to oxidize. Almost like a primer, I will continue to use it for this reason. It also didn't cause any breakouts which is a huge plus as I struggle to find even light moisturisers that don't.
Tips: I would consider teaming it up with an eye cream for nighttime use just to hydrate that area a bit more.
Effaclar Duo Plus works well. The 40 ml packaging is a good size, I would prefer a flip-top lid for more convenience but otherwise it is easy to use. My skin feels softer, less oily and definitely a reduction of acne while using this product. It has a light feel with a slight pleasant fragrance and is easy to apply, not greasy at all.
My only negative is the claim of a non-drying formula. I have combination skin, I did get dry patches on my face, particularly on and around my nose and cheeks, so I did find I needed to use a thicker moisturiser as well to hydrate parts of my skin. I feel with the day and night routine (twice a day application) my skin will smooth out imperfections, make my pores smaller and dry out acne before they pop up. Enjoying this product paired with the Foaming Gel.
Tips: You may need to use additional moisturiser to hydrate dryer patches of skin as this is a light product.
I used two tubes of this, and I love the applicator to ensure you only use a pea sized amount! It does take a while to make a difference, but it’s worth it.
It will eventually get rid of those small bumps if you have them on your forehead!
Tips: Don’t use too much for the first few weeks! Layer it on top of a moisturiser :)
