La Roche Posay® Pure Niacinamide 10 Serum

I was really excited to try this. I love my La Roche Posay suncream and had high hopes. The serum comes in a cute purple bottle. The serum itself is almost pearl colour, and is light and creamy. It has a very light scent which is great. It glides on to the skin and instantly absorbs. I have very sensitive skin, including eczema around my eyes and it didn't irritate that at all. I'm not sure it had an affect on my dark spots, but maybe just a bit more time is needed. I only applied the product at night too just in a bid to lessen the sunburn factor as my skin is so sensitive (you SHOULD apply suncream every day and it is HIGHLY recommended when using this as product as it can make you more prone to burning). It sits nicely underneath a night cream, and didn't leave my face oily or anything. I feel like my skin is plumper and more hydrated and I noticed a reduction in acne too over the month. One thing that I was not a fan of - the dropper. It's a blunt end dropper and was quite hopeless. I ended up using it more as a scoop, wiping the serum off the outside of the dropper instead. Overall though, a lovely product that delivers results with consistent use.

Is there such a thing as a bad La Roche Posay product? I don't think so. Since being exposed to the brand, I've tried a few (Chemist Warehouse has a great selection) and I've never been disappointed.

I haven't tried a niacinamide serum before, I've tried this current trending ingredient in creams, but never as the powerhouse ingredient. I think I've been missing out!

It is non-greasy and leaves no residue. It doesn't pill under make up which is good.

It's very hydrating and as it's suspended in Hyauronic Acid I apply to damp skin - it seems to help lock in moisture.

My skin has been noticeably more even and the texture more refined. It just feels so smooth and supple. It looks glowier. I feel so good in my skin right now, it's wonderful.

This serum is wonderful! I am grateful to receive a spot on this trial team and to put this product to the test. It honestly did not disappoint.

I have lots of dark patches on my face, uneven skin tone and my skin is always dull. I have tried for many years to fix my skin tone and get rid of dark spots but nothing has worked or even come close.

This serum has changed my complexion. My dark spots are almost nonexistent, my skin looks bright and healthy and I have seen such an improvement in my uneven skin tone. I use it in the morning and at night and it has worked so well!

I couldn't be any happier with the results. This serum retails for $74.99 depending on where you purchase it from and it's worth every cent. A little goes a long way so I have a feeling it's going to last a long time.

It's a fabulous wee serum and it really does what it says. It has earned a permanent spot in my skincare routine.

This is a super serum if you want luminous, plump skin.

First of all, it comes in a glass bottle with a pipette. The product is easy to squeeze up and deposit, and I had no problem getting the right amount for my face. The product itself is creamy, quite thick, with the slightest of scents, but one that isn't noticeable on the skin.

I found the serum sunk in quickly and didn't feel tacky on the skin.

I was a little worried when I saw it was suspended in hyaluronic acid, as sometimes I find it doesn't react well to my skin. That being said I had absolutely no issues - in fact I think it helped with making my skin look amazing.

In the four weeks I've used it, my skin has become so fresh and dewy looking. Rejuvenated, even. I can't say at this stage that I've seen any change to my dark spots caused by pimple scarring and general age, but I feel my skin looks more youthful, and this is the only change to my routine.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Absolutely. I will be repurchasing this as well.

After a few weeks of use this has grown to be my favourite niacinamide I have tried. The fourmula of the product is amazing. It soaks into your skin easily and feels very refreshing as well. It doesn’t dry sticky, which I have experienced with another popular brand of niacinamide. In the few weeks of use I have definitely noticed my skin looking and feeling more smooth, brighter and more of an even tone. With long term use I hope it would help further reduce a little more of some of the hyper pigmentation on my face. This produce does have a scent to it, not overly a bad scent but if you are sensitive to certain smells you may find it a bit too much.

The only down fall is the dropper, it’s very large and hard to control the amount of product you are putting on your face so I feel that could lead to some product wastage over time.

Ok, so I grew to really love this serum in the time I used it! I'm a busy person, so I usually have a pretty quick skincare routine (ie cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen) and I need to really enjoy a product to consistently add another step to my routine.

Initially I found the texture a little unusual, it is quite thick (described as a water-gel texture) and it takes a good squeeze on the dropper to get it into the dispenser. It's not like any other serum that I've tried before. Once on your face, it absorbs into the skin SO quickly and doesn't leave any kind of sticky or oily residue. You are definitely left with a lovely, dewy glow (so if you're not keen on that look for your day, definitely pop some powder foundation / translucent powder over your moisturiser).

I was really impressed with how immediately and visibly my skin was hydrated, it looked plumped and well moisturised after the first use. I'm reminded every morning that I use it, how lovely it makes your skin look and feel!

I was also really interested in its claims around smoothing texture and wrinkles. I don't have significant wrinkles, but I do have textured skin and large pores around my nose, cheeks and forehead. I have been consistently impressed with the way this serum smooths the skin, each time I've used it. While I haven't noticed a huge reduction in pore size, what I have noticed is that the immediate hydration boost smooths out texture and dryness at the time of application. This significantly improved the way makeup sat on my face. When applying foundation (both powder and liquid) my pores and texture were significantly less noticeable. The foundation did not sink into, or highlight pores the way it has done in the past.

A side note: I did notice, in the beginning, that it caused a little congestion in my skin. I think this was user error, more than the product! I reduced the amount of serum that I was using and the congestion cleared up pretty quickly. So if you find this happens, reduce the amount of drops that you use.

Overall, I was really impressed with this product and I will probably replace it when this bottle is finished. It consistently left my skin feeling and looking plump, supple and hydrated, my complexion looked bright and healthy, texture / noticeable pores were greatly reduced and I regularly reach for it in my skincare routine. It's definitely my new favourite skincare product!

First impressions, I was impressed with the packaging. I loved the purple colour of the bottle and how it was pearlescent. I have used other La Roche Posay products before which I found a bit bland packaging-wise, but this product is one of the nicest serum bottles I've come across. Instructions for use are contained on the bottle (which is handy because I accidentally got rid of the box it came in before I'd read through the information thoroughly). It didn't say exactly how much to apply though, which would have been useful. I ended up just dabbing a drop or two worth on each part of my face.

I loved the scent - sort of like Lush Snow Fairy body wash and jellybeans, but also not too overpowering or sickly. The product itself also had a pretty pearlescent colour. It was a nice consistency (not runny or thick) and felt silky on the skin but unfortunately the applicator was terrible from the get go. It didn't seem to pick up much product, so instead of applying drops of the product into my palm I had to roll the applicator over my palm and then dab it on my skin.

The dropper also seemed to be too big for the bottle, so it was hard to put it back in once I'd used it. That resulted in the product getting all around the (outside) of the neck of the bottle. I went on holiday while I was trialling the serum, but because the product would get on the outside of the bottle I was too worried to take it my holiday with me as I thought it might be too messy in my makeup bag unfortunately.

I used the serum twice a day, applying it to my whole face before moisturiser, focusing mainly on some dark spots I have under my eyes. It was lovely and rich/hydrating, but not sticky. The bottle also suggested applying it to the neck and even hands. I didn't see the point of applying it to my neck as i dont have dark spots or discolouration in that area, but I did apply it to the backs of my hands some days and loved how it absorbed fast, and didn't feel greasy.

I didn't really see an improvement with my dark spots but I will keep using the serum for a few reasons. It makes my skin feel hydrated and look even-toned, it didnt make me break out (rare!), and I think with more time it may make a difference to the dark spots. It's also a fair price for the quality of the serum, but I wish the dropper dispensed the product better - because it doesn't, I dont think I will purchase it going forward.

This little bottle packed a punch, in a unassuming packaging of a glass bottle, and convenient glass dropper, this little beauty had hidden gems inside! I preferred to use it in my night routine rather than my day due to my heavy exposure of outside life, and it offered a welcomed relief and so great “me” time to enjoy what this product could do, after cleansing I gently applied to my face within the first week a noticeable difference in skin tone and was more softer, by the end of the trial fine lines and crows feet appeared more smoothed out and less obvious, my skin was really glowing with a new fresh rejuvenated look! The texture of the serum is unusual compared to my other ones this had a slight grit feel but Was very sleek and hardly noticeable, there was no fragrance, and it was very easy to apply, no greasy after feel, and the following morning no clogging. Overall I am very impressed ! Since I have sensitive skin this was a very ideal product to brighten up my exhausted over exposed to the elements skin

This serum quite frankly, feels luxurious on your skin. It comes in a little purple bottle with a separate eyedropper – unfortunately said eyedropper got broken before I got to use it – so I just spread a little across two fingers to try and emulate the number of drops I needed.

It’s a sort of pearlescent light purple, with a slight scent that’s not detectable on your skin. It’s not an incredibly thick serum and feels quite light. After using at night, my skin was hydrated enough by morning I felt I didn’t need an additional evening moisturiser on top. It also sits nicely under makeup and sunscreen – and my sunscreen didn’t leave me feeling like a greasy mess like it normally does.

I do feel this has made my skin noticeably smoother especially on my forehead and maybe even minimised some fine lines and wrinkles. It has also brightened my complexion. My sensitive skin has not reacted in any way to this serum which is a major bonus.

I’ve used this for a few weeks and there’s still approximately 3/4 left in the bottle so while expensive, it seems quite economical so this will be something I will definitely consider repurchasing.

It feels like I've been living under a rock for the past however long because this was the first time I'd heard of niacinamide. But I'm definitely now part of the fan club.

The La Roche Posay Pure Niacinamide 10 serum comes in a classy purple glass bottle with a separate dropper. The serum itself is a pearlescent purple colour and has a fresh scent which I really liked, especially in the morning under my sunscreen and moisturiser.

When using the serum I definitely felt like my skin was brighter and I felt refreshed. As a mum of three under three, believe me that doesn't happen often! I think it made my skin more hydrated and definitely looked a bit plumper and 'younger' than usual.

The serum absorbed quickly into my skin and I didn't have any sticky residue. It was very easy to use and while I like the dropper, I stopped using it after the first few times and put it straight onto my fingers. Just after the speedier and less fiddly option and it worked well.

I have a lot of freckles and a few noticeable dark patches on my face. While it doesn't seem like they have faded, I imagine this is something that will come with extended use. I'll keep you all posted!

La Roche Posay is such a great brand with quality products and this serum is no exception.
