When this arrived I was so excited as I needed a new day moisturiser so could really trial against my normal regime. Well I was very disappointed. The smell it produced almost put me off putting it near my skin. It was rather thick and didn't soak in very well. Not exactly a normal consistency of a day cream. Found my makeup didn't stay on well with this under it. But the way it was packed made it easy to use, a couple pumps and away we went.

My first impression of the Linden Leaves Essential Moisturiser was how simple and sleek the packaging was and I am always a sucker for pretty packaging. I found the actual product to be sufficiently hydrating but I did feel like if I wanted a bit moisture in my skin I had to use a second pump of the product. I applied this moisturiser every morning before makeup application and it served as a nice base for my makeup as it left my skin feeling smooth and well hydrated but it also absorbed into my skin really quickly and it left no oily or greasy residue behind. I also really enjoyed the luxurious smell of this product, you could tell that this product did not have a perfume scent, which would be good for people who are sensitive to perfumed moisturisers. In the past I have reviewed other moisturisers and with most of them I had some sort of reaction like breakouts, however with this moisturiser I had no breakouts. The only negative for me is the price of this product, however because it actually made a difference to my skin I will be buying this product once I run out because I feel it is worth the money.
Tips: One pump covers the whole face but for very dry skin I would suggest 1 and half or 2 pumps.
This is a great moisturiser! It has everything going for it and it delivers. NZ brand, natural quality ingredients and avoids ingredients which are likely to irritate the skin.
The packaging is attractive and the pump bottle is easy to use. I found two pumps was the perfect quantity for my face and neck area. The smell is subtle and very pleasant.
I have a normal to combination skin type and found this cream to be moisturising, not too greasy, and absorbs quickly making a great base for makeup. It also can be combined with the Linden Leaves oil if your skin needs an extra boost. Some mornings I woke up and felt like my skin was feeling a little dry so with the addition of the oil it was the perfect blend. I would think that in summer I will prefer this moisturiser without the oil which is super handy if your skin changes from season to season like mine.
After using this moisturiser my skin feels softer and smoother. I can find no negatives with this moisturiser and will happily use it again and again.
Tips: Use two pumps for the perfect quantity.
This moisturiser is a lovely daytime moisturiser. It's marketed for all skin types and I can see that it covers a lot of bases. It's smooth, it smells refreshing, it applies nicely and has beautiful packaging.
For me, it wasn't quite heavy enough, but that's because I like a lot of hydration in my skincare because it's pretty dehydrated. It is a good moisturiser and I like that it's got lots of goodness in it. There was one thing that took this into the skincare stratosphere though and that was mixing it with something else. I know you're thinking - what??? But yes!!! If you mix one (only one) drop of facial oil (I used Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil) into it and then apply, it makes for the most delicious, but not heavy moisturiser ever. So much so, that I'm thinking I now can't live without it. The secret is, that is that it's light enough to add an oil to! If it was heavier than it all would have ended in a greasy mess, but because it's light, it perfectly matched wit the facial oil an the result was so nice. I wore it under my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and it made it look so beautiful on application. Then throughout the day my skin retained the moisture and instead looked fresh and glowy rather than dehydrated and dried out which is what it can look like with ELDW. I love it. I'm already thinking of getting backups. Oh and by the way, people have commented on how good my skin looks. Not bad for an old bird x
Tips: Try mixing this with a facial oil like Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil for a gorgeous moisturiser to wear under long wear foundation.
This is my new favorite moisturizer. The light formulation packs a powerful punch. I have oily skin so I'm fussy with my skin care but this one did not let me down. The lotion absorbed quickly and left my skin soft and hydrated. The lovely smell is soothing but not over powering. This is really one of those products that would suit array of skin types - which is a big call for any product.
Tips: I really love this on its own BUT when used in conjunction with the Linden Leaves regenerating night cream and Miraculous Facial Oil I really noticed a huge difference in the quality of skin's appearance.
I have been using the Linden leaves facial moisturiser and I absolutely love it. It is perfect for using after cleansing and it really has made my skin look hydrated. You don't need to use much and it soaks into the skin quickly. I absolutely adore the scent too. Definitely would recommend this product.
Tips: I found the most benefit was from using it straight after cleansing.
The Linden Leaves Essential Moisturiser is cutely packaged and comes in a nice sleek tube. I found one pump was not enough for me and it took 4-5 pumps of the moisturiser to get enough product on my face and neck to feel really moisturised. In saying that I do have 'mature' (on the dry side) skin. I also was not a fan of the fragrance. Not sure whether it was the calendula or the comfrey but to me it had a weird oily smell, even though it was not oily at all.
It took a few days for my skin to get used to this moisturiser, as initially it felt too light for me, but I do like the texture of it - it is very silky and glides easily on the skin. I feel like it may be better suited for normal skin rather than dry.
However, when using it as part of the Linden Leaves Regime (day cream, night cream, and facial oil), it ended up feeling really nice on my skin, but I think that is because it was helped by the other products. I think if all I was using was the Essential Moisturiser day cream and nothing else, it would not be moisturising enough for me. All in all a nice product though, but more suited to skin that doesn't need a lot of moisturising.
Tips: Works best when used in conjunction with the Linden Leaves night cream and Miraculous Facial Oil as a total skincare regime
There's so much to love about Linden Leaves! Cruelty free, ethical & natural. BUT my skin did not like this product at all! With Comfrey & Calendula as ingredients I expected great things due to their healing properties. Instead I got dry, lumpy, unhappy skin. The product box uses words such as 'youthful', 'fresh' & 'brighten'. Aside from the reaction I had to it my skin seemed mattified rather than fresh & bright. I do like the pump applicator bottle and the packaging design. The bottle is slim and fits easily into my hand with the packaging both simple and elegant. The product fragrance is light and definitely plant based. It's not offensive but not the nicest either. I personally would not recommend this moisturiser for mature skin nor reactive sensitive skin. But I am going to pass on what I have left to a younger friend with normal skin. The issue here is more my skin than the product. The price is pretty much on par with other products of a similar vein, so for me that's not an issue.
Tips: Avoid if you have reactive skin!
This moisturiser is very versatile and suitable for all skin types. It's not too greasy or heavy yet moisturises well. The scent is also very distinct and pleasant but not overpowering at all. I feel like this moisturiser would be slightly lacking for people with very dry skin as it is on the lighter side and thus better for day use rather than nighttime use. Overall, its a nice morning moisturiser with wonderful natural ingredients. I was worried that my sensitive skin would react negatively, but it's absolutely fine!
I love the soft colour on this crisp and clean packaging on the product. The tall skinny pump bottle is perfect for chucking in the handbag for moisture on the go. I found I needed two pumps to do my face and neck as this lil beauty soaks in straight away. I loved that as there's no oily residue left on your face to wreck your makeup application and no waiting around for it to absorb either. I found my skin felt hydrated all day and I believe it actually helped minimise my acne breakouts so definitely helped to balance my skin. I personally didn't find the smell of the product overly nice tho, it smells quite nutty to me, while not unpleasant it just wasn't to my tastes. I recommend this product for anyone with a time sensitive morning routine that needs a quick boost of moisture without the wait times!
Tips: Warm up the moisturizer in you fingertips then apply to spread it out more and I needed two pumps to cover my face and neck area.
