This is an amazing moisturiser which is not too heavy on the skin and good for day to day wear. I think that the natural ingredients inside it of the calendula oil has helped heal my skin to make it less dry in winter. However the only downside is that the packaging is hard to use because when you press down on the lid to get product out, I have a bit of difficulty. The product itself is great and I would buy it again.

From day one my skin has been greedily lapping up this product leaving it feeling wonderfully soft, smooth and replenished. The texture is perfect for me and doesn't leave that sticky irritating feel that can often be experienced. I massage this in with upward strokes and it absorbs well. I am enjoying the end result - as does my skin.
Tips: Following the suggestion on the packet I have been blending in a drop of porcelain brightening serum which has made this even more pliable to apply and it soaks in readily.
Firstly I love the packaging, it is so fresh and clean and on point with the design. The pump tube was smaller than I expected and a little light on the amount delivered in each pump. The consistency is good, fairly thick, but the absorption rate for my skin was poor. I found my skin felt greasy all day with this product as it mostly sat on the surface of my skin. The smell was not great, I can't really describe it, it was probably due to the calendula I guess, but it wasn't pleasant. If I had to describe it I would say it was a strange mix of chalk and something acrid. The smell didn't soften or dry down on my skin since it didn't absorb. But I got used to it and carried on my day. I tried this product on it's own, with and without make up and after a consistently less than perfect experience I also tried it with a few drops of the rosehip oil from the same range. Which felt nicer on my face and was smoother in results but still had the same absorption issues. I was really surprised at my experience with this range as I have always thought Linden Leaves range looked, sounded, and smelt amazing.... but priced way out of my affordability bracket (which I also thought must mean it's the fountain of youth fabulous) so I had never tried it until now. I am so thankful I got to trial it as I would have been devastated if I had found out it didn't suit me after draining my bank account to purchase it. I am also a little sad I didn't achieve the Linden glow I was hoping for.
Tips: Try before you buy!
This moisturiser is very versatile and suitable for all skin types. It's not too greasy or heavy yet moisturises well. The scent is also very distinct and pleasant but not overpowering at all. I feel like this moisturiser would be slightly lacking for people with very dry skin as it is on the lighter side and thus better for day use rather than nighttime use. Overall, its a nice morning moisturiser with wonderful natural ingredients. I was worried that my sensitive skin would react negatively, but it's absolutely fine!
There's so much to love about Linden Leaves! Cruelty free, ethical & natural. BUT my skin did not like this product at all! With Comfrey & Calendula as ingredients I expected great things due to their healing properties. Instead I got dry, lumpy, unhappy skin. The product box uses words such as 'youthful', 'fresh' & 'brighten'. Aside from the reaction I had to it my skin seemed mattified rather than fresh & bright. I do like the pump applicator bottle and the packaging design. The bottle is slim and fits easily into my hand with the packaging both simple and elegant. The product fragrance is light and definitely plant based. It's not offensive but not the nicest either. I personally would not recommend this moisturiser for mature skin nor reactive sensitive skin. But I am going to pass on what I have left to a younger friend with normal skin. The issue here is more my skin than the product. The price is pretty much on par with other products of a similar vein, so for me that's not an issue.
Tips: Avoid if you have reactive skin!
The Linden Leaves Essential Moisturiser is cutely packaged and comes in a nice sleek tube. I found one pump was not enough for me and it took 4-5 pumps of the moisturiser to get enough product on my face and neck to feel really moisturised. In saying that I do have 'mature' (on the dry side) skin. I also was not a fan of the fragrance. Not sure whether it was the calendula or the comfrey but to me it had a weird oily smell, even though it was not oily at all.
It took a few days for my skin to get used to this moisturiser, as initially it felt too light for me, but I do like the texture of it - it is very silky and glides easily on the skin. I feel like it may be better suited for normal skin rather than dry.
However, when using it as part of the Linden Leaves Regime (day cream, night cream, and facial oil), it ended up feeling really nice on my skin, but I think that is because it was helped by the other products. I think if all I was using was the Essential Moisturiser day cream and nothing else, it would not be moisturising enough for me. All in all a nice product though, but more suited to skin that doesn't need a lot of moisturising.
Tips: Works best when used in conjunction with the Linden Leaves night cream and Miraculous Facial Oil as a total skincare regime
I have been using the Linden leaves facial moisturiser and I absolutely love it. It is perfect for using after cleansing and it really has made my skin look hydrated. You don't need to use much and it soaks into the skin quickly. I absolutely adore the scent too. Definitely would recommend this product.
Tips: I found the most benefit was from using it straight after cleansing.
This is my new favorite moisturizer. The light formulation packs a powerful punch. I have oily skin so I'm fussy with my skin care but this one did not let me down. The lotion absorbed quickly and left my skin soft and hydrated. The lovely smell is soothing but not over powering. This is really one of those products that would suit array of skin types - which is a big call for any product.
Tips: I really love this on its own BUT when used in conjunction with the Linden Leaves regenerating night cream and Miraculous Facial Oil I really noticed a huge difference in the quality of skin's appearance.
This moisturiser is a lovely daytime moisturiser. It's marketed for all skin types and I can see that it covers a lot of bases. It's smooth, it smells refreshing, it applies nicely and has beautiful packaging.
For me, it wasn't quite heavy enough, but that's because I like a lot of hydration in my skincare because it's pretty dehydrated. It is a good moisturiser and I like that it's got lots of goodness in it. There was one thing that took this into the skincare stratosphere though and that was mixing it with something else. I know you're thinking - what??? But yes!!! If you mix one (only one) drop of facial oil (I used Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil) into it and then apply, it makes for the most delicious, but not heavy moisturiser ever. So much so, that I'm thinking I now can't live without it. The secret is, that is that it's light enough to add an oil to! If it was heavier than it all would have ended in a greasy mess, but because it's light, it perfectly matched wit the facial oil an the result was so nice. I wore it under my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and it made it look so beautiful on application. Then throughout the day my skin retained the moisture and instead looked fresh and glowy rather than dehydrated and dried out which is what it can look like with ELDW. I love it. I'm already thinking of getting backups. Oh and by the way, people have commented on how good my skin looks. Not bad for an old bird x
Tips: Try mixing this with a facial oil like Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil for a gorgeous moisturiser to wear under long wear foundation.
Never have I ever tried such a luxurious moisturiser. The Linden Leaves Essential Moisturiser feels like silk and smells heavenly. It absorbs in 30 seconds leaving your face smooth and baby skin like. I use this along with other Linden Leaves products every day. I don't use a primer of any sort, just the Essential Moisturiser and Linden Leaves Porcelain brightening serum. My foundation looks absolutely amazing on top of this. I have sensitive skin. This is by far the most gentle and natural moisturiser I have used. It goes perfectly with my daily skin care routine and I believe along with the cleanser I use, (Epiology Anti-Acne Foaming Pre-wash) it goes well to help and clear my acne too.
Tips: It is the best moisturiser I have found that goes with my Anti-Acne foaming pre-wash. (Epiology) Mix this with a little bit of the Linden Leaves Porcelain Brightening serum every morning. This is definitely the perfect combination for my sensitive, acne prone skin. It is fantastic as a base for your foundation. I don't use a primer and my makeup stays on all day and looks fabulous!
