When this product arrived, I loved the look of the sleek and minimal packaging. I was really excited to try out a new moisturiser, but was disappointed due to the scent of the product. For me and skincare, I love a refreshing scent and this was not the case with this product. I also found that it left my skin feeling quite oily and didn't sink in that fast, so for now I think I will be sticking with my clean and clear moisturiser, but loved the chance to try something new.

Tips: You only need to use a little dot of this product
Firstly I love the packaging, it is so fresh and clean and on point with the design. The pump tube was smaller than I expected and a little light on the amount delivered in each pump. The consistency is good, fairly thick, but the absorption rate for my skin was poor. I found my skin felt greasy all day with this product as it mostly sat on the surface of my skin. The smell was not great, I can't really describe it, it was probably due to the calendula I guess, but it wasn't pleasant. If I had to describe it I would say it was a strange mix of chalk and something acrid. The smell didn't soften or dry down on my skin since it didn't absorb. But I got used to it and carried on my day. I tried this product on it's own, with and without make up and after a consistently less than perfect experience I also tried it with a few drops of the rosehip oil from the same range. Which felt nicer on my face and was smoother in results but still had the same absorption issues. I was really surprised at my experience with this range as I have always thought Linden Leaves range looked, sounded, and smelt amazing.... but priced way out of my affordability bracket (which I also thought must mean it's the fountain of youth fabulous) so I had never tried it until now. I am so thankful I got to trial it as I would have been devastated if I had found out it didn't suit me after draining my bank account to purchase it. I am also a little sad I didn't achieve the Linden glow I was hoping for.
Tips: Try before you buy!
I have really liked a few of Linden Leaves' products but unfortunately I didn't enjoy this product. I love the sleek packaging, hard plastic and minimal design and that they use natural products, but the scent is what put me off straight away. I was a bit confused though because I had tried a sample and it didn't bother me at all. I now have a full size and I can't bring myself to use it. Also, it says suitable for all skin types but alone this is no good for dry skin, it's extremely light and absorbs really fast. So I won't be using this again.
When this arrived I was so excited as I needed a new day moisturiser so could really trial against my normal regime. Well I was very disappointed. The smell it produced almost put me off putting it near my skin. It was rather thick and didn't soak in very well. Not exactly a normal consistency of a day cream. Found my makeup didn't stay on well with this under it. But the way it was packed made it easy to use, a couple pumps and away we went.
I was given the Linden Leaves Gift With Purchase that included this product.
It comes in a small white tube with Linden leaves branding the same as the other minis – plain and simple and appropriate for a mini.
The product is a thin white cream. It has the scent of calendula that I don’t really like. Once applied on the skin it is soft, and slightly waxy. It claims it will hydrate, balance and protect the skin from everyday environmental stresses for a fresh, youthful appearance. It doesn’t have any SPF, which is a negative, but it is quite nice. It makes my skin feel a little more plump and soft. I don’t think my skin looks more youthful, but that would be a tall order for any product.
Overall I think it’s a good daytime moisturiser – but it is limited by having no SPF and being $49.00, which is a lot of money for an average product. And I have tried several other daytime facial moisturisers that I like much better.
Tips: I have five of their products and they work best used in conjunction with each other.
I love Linden Leaves products, beautiful packaging which is also environmentally friendly, cruelty free and they support sustainable and ethical business principles so a MASSIVE tick for that !! The moisturiser contains Calendula Oil, Comfrey & Neroli essential Oil - unfortunately I'm really not keen on the smell of Neroli so I really did find that quite of putting. It's also a very light moisturiser, for someone like me with very dry skin it was probably a bit to light so I felt like I needed quite a few pumps of the product. On the plus side, I have really sensitive skin and after using this for over week it hasn't irritated me at all (other than irritating my nostrils !!). I think this would probably suit younger skin types more that my mature skin.
Tips: Best suited to younger skin types
I got given a few samples by linden leaves and this was one of them. Most of the other samples in the pack smell so amazing but then getting to this one, i was not a fan of the smell at all. unfortunatley that put me off it quite a bit. It absorbs good, leaves your skin feeling nice and a little goes along way but i personally wouldnt go and spend $50 on it.
The Linden Leaves Essential Moisturiser is cutely packaged and comes in a nice sleek tube. I found one pump was not enough for me and it took 4-5 pumps of the moisturiser to get enough product on my face and neck to feel really moisturised. In saying that I do have 'mature' (on the dry side) skin. I also was not a fan of the fragrance. Not sure whether it was the calendula or the comfrey but to me it had a weird oily smell, even though it was not oily at all.
It took a few days for my skin to get used to this moisturiser, as initially it felt too light for me, but I do like the texture of it - it is very silky and glides easily on the skin. I feel like it may be better suited for normal skin rather than dry.
However, when using it as part of the Linden Leaves Regime (day cream, night cream, and facial oil), it ended up feeling really nice on my skin, but I think that is because it was helped by the other products. I think if all I was using was the Essential Moisturiser day cream and nothing else, it would not be moisturising enough for me. All in all a nice product though, but more suited to skin that doesn't need a lot of moisturising.
Tips: Works best when used in conjunction with the Linden Leaves night cream and Miraculous Facial Oil as a total skincare regime
First of all, how lovely is the packaging! Linden leaves have such beautifully packaged products that if packaging was the reason of purchasing the. i would be stocking my self with all the products.
My skin really suffered this winter, I had dry, patchy "angry" skin which I managed to control with a 10 step routine ( feels like a gazilion steps though) so I was really happy when I received this product as part of a moisture set review. I am not a fan of the smell but I can ignore it and it disappears after a few minutes. I tried using it alone after washing my face, the cream has a nice texture and consistency, just the right thickness for a day cream, i used 2 pumps ans it applies on smoothly. However it was not hydrating enough to use on its own. The cream felt like it was sitting on top and did not really blend well with my sunscreen even when i tried leaving it on for a few minutes before spf. I still had dry patches around my eyebrows and chin. Over all it is a lovely moisturiser if used with other hyrdrating serums.
There's so much to love about Linden Leaves! Cruelty free, ethical & natural. BUT my skin did not like this product at all! With Comfrey & Calendula as ingredients I expected great things due to their healing properties. Instead I got dry, lumpy, unhappy skin. The product box uses words such as 'youthful', 'fresh' & 'brighten'. Aside from the reaction I had to it my skin seemed mattified rather than fresh & bright. I do like the pump applicator bottle and the packaging design. The bottle is slim and fits easily into my hand with the packaging both simple and elegant. The product fragrance is light and definitely plant based. It's not offensive but not the nicest either. I personally would not recommend this moisturiser for mature skin nor reactive sensitive skin. But I am going to pass on what I have left to a younger friend with normal skin. The issue here is more my skin than the product. The price is pretty much on par with other products of a similar vein, so for me that's not an issue.
Tips: Avoid if you have reactive skin!
