I love the history of this product and I love how Lush has brought some cultural history into the beauty market by giving us this product we never knew existed. Formulated in the medieval times, people were believed to be witches if they created this magic pot - That's what drew me into buying this, It wasn't disappointing it accomplished what it set out to do. It made my face brighter, cleared scarring (although I hardly noticed, mum said it did) and gave my skin a even texture. I love how unique the products are compared to other out there in the market when it comes to applying the paste to your face, it's messy. But at the same time, it does wonders to your face and body. I hardly ever got a breakout when I was on this.

The LUSH angels on bare skin cleanser has become one of my favourites. The elements of natures finest have come together to gently exfoliate and freshen my face; with ground almonds, lavender flower and many essential oils, I feel as though this little wonder has a lot to give. It promises to even out skin tone and improve the general health of your skin. One of which I can agree on; by the morning after my skin tone was more glowy and even than I was use too (victory dance!) One thing I would comment on is the intense smell of lavender - don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a small whiff of it every now and then, but when its under your nose, particularly in it - its intense. But who am I to say you reading doesn't enjoy a nostril full of lavender? So after this smelly but pleasant experience with the angels on bare skin cleanser, the question remains; would I purchase it again? Possibly. I think its worth the hype, the effect and feel it gives but I wouldn't go back in a rush. It may just be old faithful to turn back to when all others have been tried out too. Either way I know I’ll love it.
I really love this cleanser! It's natural ingredients are so gentle on the skin and it is a saviour for problem, sensitive skin. I have easily upset skin which can be prone to breakouts and this never harms. It has also made my breakouts lessen over time. Because it is gentle and doesn't strip away all of your natural oils it stops your skin from producing extra oils - meaning less acne and pimples. One jar lasts a really long time, so it is very worth the money too. I recommend this product to any one who will listen!
Tips: Keep your empty tubs, save up 5 and you can trade them in at Lush for a free fresh face mask.
I have this product firstly as a sample from lush which was actually a rather big sample which was awesome because face cleansers are a bit weird with my skin when i change drastically . I love the texture and the natural ingredients in this cleanser,
I wouldn't use this as a every day face wash as it did draw out alot of my pores and acne and I broke out when i first started using this,
so I think it would be good before a face mask, smells really good though.
would love to get a full size.
I love Lush, and this product is up there with their best. Yummy smell, a great exfoliating texture, annnnd all natural ingredients! Its really moisturising and doesnt leave your skin feeling stripped like alot of other cleansers. Its just textured enough to exfoliate your skin but isnt rough or harsh. Love it!
Tips: A little goes a long way! And go easy on the moisturiser afterwards - this product doesnt strip your natural oils.
I had quite high expectations of this cleanser as I've read so many rave reviews of it, and with a name like 'Angels on Bare Skin' you can't blame me!
First impressions? What a heavenly smell! This cleanser has a strong lavender aroma from the presence of lavender oil and crushed lavender flowers itself. Lucky for me, I love the scent of lavender but if you don't you may want to pass on this! Looks-wise it certainly isn't the prettiest product, gritty and grey with visible chunks of lavender running though it. It's very firm, the kaolin clay noticeable in it's hardness and the ground almonds giving it a course texture.
To use you take a pinch of this and warm it in your palm, working it into a smooth paste with a little bit of water. I found this quite time consuming as the cleanser is so solid. You then massage it into damp skin, a slightly messy endeavour so I try to use this in the shower.
The rough texture gives the skin a really good exfolliation and afterwards my skin feels soft and clean but not dry or tight like some cleansers or clay masks can do.
While this seems to work for most people, I personally wouldn't repurchase it. The cleanser does leave the skin feeling nice and didn't irritate mine but the harsh texture wasn't something I wanted to use daily and I found it quite time-consuming to use.
Tips: Use it in the shower as it can make a bit of mess!
I brought this product because I have rosacea. I have been using this product for about a week now. The scent I can smell quite strongly is lavender. The texture is like playdough. You need to form a paste with water to be able to spread the product onto your face. I love how soft my skin feels afterwards but that's all it really did. It hasn't improved the redness of my face nor made any real change in the appearance of my skin. I probably won't buy again.
Tips: Put a little bit of water in your hand and mix the cleanser to form a paste. It can get quite messy.
I tried this product on at the shop on my hand and could not stop touching it til I got home and could try the product out on my face. I loved it! My skin looked noticeably more even and had a bit of a glow. I ran out and got my partner to touch my face. It had never been THAT smooth! I could not stop touching my face. Definately an amazing product and I liked the price too. So far it has lasted quite a while.
Tips: It is an exfoliator so I would not use it twice a day every day. I rub it straight on my face from the container and it's not very messy
A friend of mine gave me a sample of this as she knows I like exfoliating products, am a fan of Lush and struggle with redness in my skin.
This is an interesting - and slightly messy product to use. You pinch a small amount of it out of the container, put a bit of water on it and it turns into a paste. Then you apply that to your face as per a normal cleanser.
This looks a little bit like rolled oats. The scent is nice and subtle and this feels gentle even though it is an exfoliator. The clay feels really calm on your skin and I think this is a great option for those with sensitive skin.
After using it my skin felt really clean and soft. It didn't feel irritated or sore from the exfoliating particles at all.
The only thing I'm not too keen on is how you need to mix it with water. Whilst not a massive issue I did find this messy and irritating when traveling, as well as those nights where I am feeling tired and just want to go to bed. I personally prefer something I can just put on out of the tub or tube. If that doesn't bother you however, I think you should give it a go.
This was a mask I had heard amazing things about, plus I had seen the reviews on BR which we all know are worth their weight in gold. So, off I went to lush to get this lovely mask.
Like the majority of lush’s masks, this one come in a small black container, which I like because it is part of their recycling campaign, and means I am one step closer to getting that free face mask! Yippee.
The mask, well I’ll be honest. It’s not the prettiest mask iv ever seen. In fact, it’s nowhere close to being the prettiest masks I’ve ever seen. It’s a grey-ish colour in colour, and has a crumbly, but mouldable consistency (a consistency similar to other masks in the lush range). The mask is speckled with fresh lavender pieces, and at times I find the lavender smell to be quite intense, which is understandable considering the mask, is all over your face and right under your nose (literally).
This cleanser works by placing a small amount of the cleanser in the palm of our hand and mixing it with water to make a paste. When the water is added, the cleanser turns into a milky paste. But even with a bit of mixing and rubbing, I found it was really hard to get an even consistency with this paste. Nonetheless I still use it, and just try to spread it as evenly as possible over my face which is easy enough to do. Leave it for 30 seconds or so, and then rub the mask all over my face.
Firstly, the small lavender chunks feel so lovely when they are being moved all over you face because they are just so gentle, and that paired with the gentle exfoliation from the almond makes this mask feel so good to use. Plus, when I wash the cleanser off, my skin looks so fresh and clean. Although I do find this mask ever so slightly dry my cheeks out, but since I use this at night, I follow this mask with my night time cream.
I do like using this mask, even though at times I can find the lavender scent a little strong (I’m not a big fan of lavender). Overall, I would consider re-purchasing this mask, mainly because it does actually even out my skin tone, but it would not be my first choice from the amazing range of masks available at lush.
