Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb This is a good one to use on days when you are feeling out of sorts, rushed or just can’t think straight. It brings calm and clarity to a busy hectic life. Step out of the bath and leave your cares behind. Makes the perfect bath partner with Sultana of Soap as they share the same fragrance. Blackberry Bath Bomb is one of the first bath bombs Mo invented back in them there olden days – but its pure simplicity has made it a long term favourite. The fragrance was invented originally when Mark and Ro went to Paris and wanted a fragrance that was evocative of the blackberry and musqué they smelt everywhere.

BOOM

This was a bath I didn’t really choose, but got as part of a lush gift box, which was either the Lush legends gift box, or the art of bathing. Either way I was excited to try it because I believe it was one of Lush’s original bath bombs, and that in itself makes it a good enough reason to try it, as well as it smelling amazing, and having heard good things from friends and other Lush Lovers../addicts.

So this bath bomb is a bluey/purple in colour, and not a soft lilac purple like the twilight bath bomb. It has the word bomb slightly engraved over the bath bomb, and is about the size of a tennis ball. From first appearances, that’s all I can tell. I can also smell the delicious Lush smell, and I have to say I do like the smell of this bath bomb, but I sniff and sniff but just can’t put my finger on what it smells like. However, one note I do smell is the frankincense in this, which is why I normally use this bath bomb with the bubble bar Blue Skies and fluffy white clouds because they share that frankincense note.

When this bomb is placed in the water, it really explodes like a bomb. Leaving a trail of foam and magenta, and soft purple streaks of colour. Plus it fills the room with a gentle, yet beautiful smell. A really cute aspect about this bomb is that once it explodes, you can see a little piece of paper floating around in the bath, which says boom. This bath bomb leaves the bath water a beautiful deep amethyst purple in colour, which looks amazing!

This bath bomb doesn’t dry my skin out, but doesn’t leave it with a gross oily residue either so I’m pretty happy about this aspect. I have read that some people find this bath bomb leaves a mark around the bath, but my favourite thing about this bath bomb is it leaves no stains or water marks in my bath so I’m not sure why, but I’m not complaining. This is not one of my favourite bath bombs from Lush, but I always have one of these in my cupboards because it’s just a nice simple bath to end a long week at work, without having to think about which bath bomb to use, which is normally a hard decision when you have a lush collection like I do.

Berry Bomb-tastic!

I bought this bomb recently and I had one of the most relaxing baths for a long time. It left my skin smelling divine and feeling moisturized and soft. SO I returned to Lush to buy another to replay the moment. Such a nice bomb. Well done Lush.

Tips: If you are wanting to mix up your bath, cut your bom carefully with a sharp knife and use a bit of one bomb and a bit of this bomb and save the rest for another bath. I recommend mixing this bomb with the Twilight bath bomb :)

Amazing soak but must clean after :-(

Wow. I could smell the bath bomb through the courier bag! If I didn't know what was in the bag I would have thought I had received Lush' Sultana of Soap. It smells like a beautiful blend of musky flowers that just lingers in the room well after everyone has left.

The product is the size of a tennis ball - borrowed my dog's ball to confirm :-) ; similar texture to a piece of chalk but less powdery and a tad grainy. I tried to split the ball in two so I could place one at each end of the tub but it was too hard and a tad messy so I just placed it in the middle of the tub and watch it drop just below the water surface and dissolve rapidly.

The water changed from clear to lilac to a dark lavender colour with swirls of pink at the bottom of the tub. I pushed the bath bomb around the tub for an even distribution of colour and to hurry it up because I just wanted to jump in! I found a tiny piece of paper that said BOOM! which is cool if you're into that kind of novelty but it could have easily gone down the drain and I never would have noticed.

Even with the door closed the fragrance travelled throughout the hallway to the front room. It felt so relaxing soaking in the tub and breathing in that fragrance; I could have stayed for hours if not for scary wrinkly skin and cold water! I'm wondering if there are any moisturising properties because I noticed spots of what looked like oil throughout the water. I definitely felt my legs were moisturised and I hadn't even applied soap yet. On me the fragrance lasted 2 hours and in the house over 4 hours before starting to fade.

Unfortunately I don't think I would use this again mainly because of the purple water stains it leaves on the tub. After a relaxing soak the last thing you want to do is wipe down the bath tub; it took me 2 rounds to ensure I wiped it all. It also stains your toe nails, it'll come off easily while in the tub but I had to remove my varnish because the stain had already set (my own fault for not wiping it off in tub).

Tips: If you notice purple stains on your toe nails or on your nail polish wipe it away immediately while in tub. Do not allow it to set.

Agree with the slight moisturising properties- and the purple tide mark in the bath!

Luxury BathBomb

I Loooove lush, and this bathbomb is no exception. The first thing that hits you is the smell. It has a gorgeous floral/bitter berry smell with undertones of musk. Unlike other bath bombs I;ve tried the smell lingers for most of the bath rather than wearing off which is great! The colour is gorgeous, turning the water a deep blue/purple which swirl together throughout the bath.

I didnt find this bathbomb created many bubbles, which suits me fine since I'm not a bubble girl, but might disappoint others. Its also not as creamy as some of the others, so doesnt leave my skin feeling oily

My only gripe with this product is its quite large, and if you have a small-average sized bath there is a build up of colour that sticks to feet and baths! Some of Lush's other products are easy to break in half but that not possible with this particular one.

Tips: Try crack in half (if you can) if you have a smaller bath. Otherwise sit back and relax.

Positively Lush-ious

Initial impressions - Lovely soft blue coloured bath bomb with a sweet fruity yet floral scent and just a hint of tang. Not really what I would think of as blackberry, though.

When you drop it in it really lives up to the name bath 'bomb' - it explodes quickly into a very enthusiastic fizz of colour, and out pops a cute little note reading 'Boom!'. It's been really beautifully done, with a mix of rich violets, soft periwinkles and bright magentas shooting out in bright darts of colour and then mixing together to leave the bath water a lovely lilac colour. A+ for putting on a good show, there was definitely an out loud "wow" moment when it first exploded into action and the colour show was lovely.

At this point it definitely smells like very sweet ripe blackberries with some musky undertones and the scent really fills the room - heaven. In the water, your skin feels very silky and smooth, and once dry it maintains a very soft feel. I do love bath products that not only make the bath itself a nice experience but also leave your skin feeling wonderful, so this is definitely a big win in my book.

The big thing for me with bath products is whether they leave a nasty, hard to remove ring when you're done, so the end of the bath was the moment of truth for me. It definitely left a fairly bright ring around the tub but it wiped away easily with a damp flannel (which I always do anyway) so I am one happy camper! Would definitely rebuy and look forward to exploring their range.

Purple Bliss

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb is a fizzy purple bliss after a long stressful day. It has a lovely fragrance that isn't too strong but strong enough that it remains on your skin and in the bathroom for the evening. The purple colour is beautiful and doesn't stain your skin or the bath. A soak with the luscious Blackberry Bath Bomb is the perfect way to end the day. I think it is worth the RRP and I would purchase this for myself and/or friends and family.

Tips: You could probably remove the bath bomb from the water before it completely fizzed away and save some for another day.

Berry nice

So being a huge fan of the twilight bath bomb I brought a few more and blackberry was one of them because of how highly rated it was here.

Lush's bath bomb are massive. The size of an orange so you could get away with cutting it in half but I prefer to go all out and use the whole thing. The colour is light purple with hints of blue through it with the word bomb stamped on it.

I pop it in the bath and watch as it fizzes and sizzles turning my plain water into a purple heaven. Once it is finished fizzing and sizzling I notice a teeny piece of paper with BOOM! written on it I think this is quite cool and made me smile. I hop in and bask in the purple heaven letting my stress go and aches and pains disappear. The bergamot and blackberry scent fills the bathroom and leaves a delicate bergamot scent on my skin when I'm dry.

I'm taking half a point off only because I don't love it like the twilight bath bomb but it definitely is lovely and I will buy it again

Tips: Might want to take a cloth with you to clean the purple stain it leaves behind when your finished

This is The Bomb!

I am not the biggest fan of baths, they're lovely while it lasts but I find it super difficult to get myself out of the warm water and let the cold air attack my body haha. Recently I've been wanting to take a nice hot bath and my lovely friend, who's a bit of a Lush junkie, talked me into picking up a bath bomb. I've never been the biggest fan of bubble baths or anything fancy like that, just run the water and hop on in - that's how I've always been. But people continue to rave about these bath bombs so I decided well, why not?

It seems that Lush enjoy putting glitter into almost everything which I am not into, so Blackberry was my bomb of choice as it was nice and simple, no glitter or any chunky bits stuck in it. Everyone had told me to only use half but my attempt in halving the rock hard ball failed, so I just chucked the whole thing in! (I have a pretty standard size tub and like to have deep baths). First off, the colour is gorgeous, one of my favourite colours is purple so I loved the different shades swirling about in my tub. The smell is heavenly, I really enjoy deep, rich fragrances, so the mix of blackberry, frankincense and bergamot was right up my alley - but it could definitely be too strong for some. The warm water really intensifies the fragrance, so laying in the tub you're enveloped by the amazing warmth of the scent. This made the bath water extremely soft and that's exactly what I was hoping for. My skin was in dire need of deep hydration and a good exfoliation so having soaked in the tub with the bath bomb really allowed for my skin to soften. The overall experience is very relaxing, the feeling it gives in the water, the fragrance and the colour - it's more than I had expected.

Afterwards my skin was left feeling silky, smooth and baby soft - it hasn't felt like this in a long time. It really absorbed the lotion I applied after and still feels amazing today - with no dry patches! Fortunately for me my bath wasn't left with any staining or a purple ring - hallelujah! Saves me from scrubbing away after such a relaxing soak. I definitely want to try more or Lush's Bath Bombs (all of them that don't include glitter) but unfortunately we are renovating our bathroom this Summer and the plans are to leave the bath tub behind... So we shall see how many soaks I can fit in before the room is ripped apart.

All in all I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this product. It always seemed a little gimmicky to me, like it was just a hyped up, fancy product to colour the water, but I was wrong! I do really recommend you try one if you haven't already, it's definitely worth it!

Berrytastic!

I only have a bath every now and then because we don't have one in my apartment but this is 100% one of my fave bath bombs from Lush. It was the very first one I gravitated before because I love purple and the smell was amazing. Its not an overwhelming berry scent, its very subtle, but it is also very comforting. You always smell good when hoping out of a Blackberry bath and thankfully, you're skin is not stained purple!

Tips: My favourite lush bombs to pair it with are Butterball, for soft, luscious skin, and The Comforter bubble bar for a delicious blackberry scent for ultimate relaxation and comfort!

Gorgeous bath experience.

I'm a lush bath bomb regular, I'll often buy a whole heap at once and leave them in a bowl in my room (they make my whole house smell lovely). This was my first time using the blackberry bomb and I'd had a big week of physical activity so I went the whole nine yards- wine, candle and a good documentary on the ipad. The initial smell of the bomb in the packet is subtle and musky- not too sweat which I loved. I put the bomb in the water and was pleasantly surprised- the water was turning into a mix of mulberry purple and a bluish purple. Upon inspection I saw within the bomb there were little pockets of the two different colours that made vibrant streaks in the water- gorgeous! The water finally settled into a lovely deep purple colour and I noticed a little note reading 'BOOM' had appeared from within the center of the bathbomb- it made me giggle. The scent of the water was musky with floral notes- not artificial smelling and clean. It filled the bathroom but was not overpowering. I would say it was a calming scent- but the actually bomb while it was fizzing in the water was really fun and would cheer me up on a bad day (it would be hard to stay grumpy in a pretty cloud of swirly purples). I soaked for around 45 minutes and came out smelling amazing and clean. My skin was not itchy either (some highly perfumed soaps etc can make me itchy) and didnt feel dry. I will most definitely be using this bath bomb again.

Tips: Add some extra Epsom salts the water.

This sounds amazing! I wish I had a bath tub and a Lush store nearby.
