Butterball is by far my most favourite bath bomb from Lush (although I absolutely love so many of them!!). Butterbear is Butterball, in bear form! The shape makes it a lot easier to break off small pieces for your bath, so you get more than one use from it. It leaves your skin so so soft and smelling sweet and vanilla-ry.

Tips: Break your bear apart (if you can bring yourself to!) and then you can get more than one use out of it! Combine with other bath bombs for a sweet bath cocktail! Rub the oils it releases into your skin.
Any excuse to purchase Lush and this was on sheer cute factor. I bought 3 of these and of course the first went in whole (next time I will only use half... or less), it fizzed away into nothingness and the water went slightly cloudy then clear again with an oil slick on top. The scent is very vanilla and a nice sweet (not sickly) natural vanilla smell not artificial smelling at all.
The first thing I noticed was how oily my skin felt, like I had massage oil all over me; I actually didn't like this at first but as I sat and massaged my legs and arms I began to think this might be a good couples bath treat ;)
Once toweled off the oily feeling was still there but much less, and unfortunately the nice moisturized feeling my torso, arms and legs were experiencing was different to the dry grippy sensation my hands and feet were going through. I slapped on some moisturiser and some socks and sat back and relaxed before nodding off to dreamland. No shimmer or colour here... a nice bath yes, smells delightful, just be prepared to be slippery :)
I love Lush. Self-Acclaimed Lushie over here. So when I saw my friend talking about this cute little bear that Lush had instore, my eyes widened and my ears pricked up and before I knew what was happened I was walking out of Lush with my new bath bomb.
This bath bomb is cute. Its white and the shape of the bear (so great for kids), and has a cute little brown nose. When I put this into my bath, it fizzes around a bit, and turns the water a bit white but that's about it. Nothing exciting on that front. It also leaves an oily look to the surface of the water which isn't all that appealing but I had to think of the benefits for my skin.
Well, my skin didn't like the feel of this bath bomb, it left a gross greasy feel to my skin which is dry so I would think my skin would love it. But in reality, it just made me feel greasy and gross
I have to say, this bath bomb is very similar to the butterball bath bomb (which I am not a fan of) but with a slight vanilla smell so if you do like it, you can get something similar year round.
This bath doesn't really add any excitement to my bath, but could be nice if paired with a more exciting bath bomb (although that would make for an expensive bath).
I got at least five of these because well let's face it they are uber cute bears. They scream to my need for cute girly things. They aren't really appealing colour wise being a cream, off white colour with a slight buttery yellow tinge to it.
Its not overly big and fits nicely in to the palm of my hand. Of course it being a limited xmas edition bath bomb I have to have it in my ever growing collection. I wish now that I wasn't so grabby with the number of butterbears I got.
The Butterbear has the same scent and feel as the butterball bomb which is really nice cocoa butter smelling. It's a sweet smell that I love. When dropped in to the bath it gives off a buttery yellow colour and the aroma of cocoa butter fills my nostrils. This is where the excitement ends. I was expecting something nice in the middle, some glitter or a different colour would have sufficed. It was a huge anti climax for me. Something so cute but so uninteresting.
I ended up giving the remaining four to my son who has also fallen in love with Lush (much to my dislike) which means I have to share booo! I will give the Butterbear props when it comes to making my skin feel soft and moisturised afterwards. I like the feel of my newly hydrated skin afterwards.
Tips: Mix it with other bombs to give it pop and excitement otherwise you are left with a buttery colour and nothing else
I went a wee but cray cray at Christmas stocking up on these because they looked cute and figured if I didn't like them or use them the mini me's would.
The cute bear shaped bath bomb easily fits in the palm of my hand. He's a bit boring though in white with a few brown flecks.
I pop him in the bath and watch as he slightly fizzes around. The fizzing doesn't really last long and he doesn't put on much of a show and the water doesn't change colour. There are a few circles of oil, it looks like a bath I would take whilst pregnant with a few sprinkles of bio oil in it.
When I'm in the bath i feel like something is missing the water looks naked no colour, no lustre no bubbles.. It was weird. There was a sweet, sweet scent though maybe from the Shea butter.
Once I hop out and dry, my skin feels super soft and moisturised. That is about the only good thing I can find with this bath bomb. Needless to say the mini me's took over the last 4 of these.
I'm going to start this review by saying that I'm really not a bath person. I much prefer having a shower and I just can't really see what is so great about having a bath. I'm also a lush addict though and since I'm not a bath person, this means that half of that shop is things that I just can't really use. I decided to change that and picked up a butterbear gift set in the lush boxing day sale (yes, it has taken me almost 8 months to actually try one out, what does that tell you!?)
These little bears are actually really cute looking. I got 6 of them in a really cool bear tin as well. They are a white/off white colour and have a really sweet vanilla choc scent. Although it's taken me so long to actually use one, I have taken them out numerous times to sniff. I so wish that lush sold a butterbear shower gel, I'd be all over that!
I had read that these didn't give off any bubbles so I decided to crumble up some pink fun to add some bubbles to my bath. Pink fun is a very strong scent so it did dull down the bear. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I dropped this in the bath but it was quite underwhelming. There were slight bubbles but no pretty colours or glitters. I did pick up the bear a couple of times and it looked kind of odd with little bits in it, I found while actually having my bath that these seemed to be bits of actual cocoa butter. I think these helped to slightly hydrate my skin but not enough to make me feel like I could skip the lotion afterwards.
Overall, this bear did not make me fall in love with baths. I feel like maybe this could be a good if you were going to add a bubble bar or something but on it's own, it's not really special. I personally won't use another one. I need something to blow my socks off and this very clearly, didn't do that!
...But it's just as good!
This delightful bear is a Christmas exclusive, sharing the exact same make up as Butterball bath bomb, but it's in a delightful bear shape! Just looking at it you can tell its going to be creamy and make your skin silky smooth.
The bear goes in the water and dissolves in a fizzy meltdown, releasing the chunks of cocoa butter that melt and surround your body with its delicious softness. It's like a bomb and a melt in one, so its really good value.
The vanilla scent is really nice and with the addition of cocoa butter it's slightly chocolatey but not overly so - not a smell that transfers well in the bath at least. I find both scents don't really transfer to the bath so I usually cut my bears in half and use it with another bomb that has the show and the smell.
It is a nice bomb, and one I will definitely repurchase!
I'm not sure if it was just my particular bear that was lacking, but my memories of the sister Lush Butterball bathbomb (which is supposed to be the same but not bear shaped) were so much better. I think it was because when I used Butterball there were pieces of cocoa butter which I could see as they melted against my skin. My bear had the same delicious flavour but so much less buttery-ness.
However you have to give a hand to the bear in all its cuteness. Who doesn't like an adorable bear that fizzes really?
As soon as the Christmas Lush products hit the store, I am there to buy up allllll the Butterbear Bath Bombs. Firstly, it is the cutest darn bath bomb you ever did see. Secondly, it smells amazing and is the most moisturising bath bomb I have ever used. My Christmas has not started until the product is in my bathroom! Calling all Christmas lovers - I have found the perfect bath bomb for you.
Tips: Use this combined with Candy Mountain bubble bar for a fun and moisturising bath!
So when I was doing a wee Lush shop online for some Christmas goodies this was one of the first things that got my attention. A cute wee bear and the mention of Vanilla was all it took to get this into my cart. This was $6.90 but make sure you watch the Lush website and stores on Boxing day as any Christmas stuff that is left usually goes on mega sale (I'm talking 50% off).
As usual with Lush no massive packaging. In store they usually wrap in paper but as I made an online order it was in plastic which is strange. But I am sure it is still recyclable (at least I hope so).
So the bath bomb is super cute and shaped like a wee white bear with a brown nose. Of all the bath bombs I have smelt this one is quite subtle. I get a sweet but homely vanilla scent but nothing too over the top. Once it was in the bath it didn't give off much scent either. I was a bit disappointed with that. In the bath it gave the water a slight milky touch but nothing major. I could see the oils on the top of the water and which I presume is the cocoa butter. This left my skin quite oily feeling which took a wee while to sink in. I think if you had dryer skin that I do then you would find this really good and moisturising.
I was a bit disappointed with this one with there not being much scent or change to the water, but if you need high amounts of moisture in your skin you might actually really like this.
