I picked up a massive sample of this in October when the range first came out and loved it, but had plenty of lotions on the go so wrestled with myself about need vs want.... then managed to pick up a full sized pot of it in the BR vault in Dec '15...YAY!
Lush Celebrate Body Lotion comes in the larger (and the mid, I believe?) of their classic black pots - remember, these are recyclable, and if you take 5 back to Lush they actually gift you a free pottle of face mask worth around $15! The posts are screw top, which is admittedly a little awkward with slippery lotion hands, but thems the breaks and you get used to it.
The lotion itself is thick - you can hold the pottle upside down (momentarily) safely, and a rich, creamy white. The scent is citrus (lime and orange) with almond oil and cognac, so it's not especially girly. It's a warm, rich fresh scent, and (typical of Lush) not particularly subtle, so may interfere with perfumes etc. I tend to use it more as a fragranced lotion, so in lieu of perfume.
As it's so rich, it takes a little working into your skin, and a while to absorb properly. Once it has done its thing, skin feels amazing and is lushly, beautifully scented, but the waiting is a bit annoying. I put this on sitting at my work station this morning, but in winter i think i'd do it immediately post shower, or at night. (not that it'll last until winter :p)
Golden Wonder bath bomb has the same scent, if you're into layering, or want a cheaper way to try it! AS it's LE you might not be able to buy it other than in xmas packages, which are still (as of 11 Jan 2016) available online and instore, but might be worth checking out a sample when these come back into stores this year, as I think this is one of Lush's better lotions.
Points lost for the absorbency, screw top pottle (inconvenient!) and the price point, which is very high for a lotion in my opinion. I don't think I'd pay $37.90 for a full size for myself, but then again it's special function is pretty useful (see 'tips) so maybe!
If you love citrus and I mean really love citrus – this is the body lotion for you. I’m so impressed that Lush have managed to capture an authentic citrus fragrance that lasts on the skin without changing too much.
When I first smelled the lotion in the tub, it immediately reminded me of Feijoa vodka by 42Below so I didn’t expect to be hit with such a citrus rush. It comes in the signature Lush black tub where when you collect and return 5 tubs you get a fresh face mask free.
It has a semi-fluid consistency which felt thin to me so I assumed it would go on thin but it’s surprisingly quite thick when you’re working it into your body. The smell is seriously citrus heaven. It smells like those fragrant tarty mandarins you get in the Pacific islands mixed with sweet feijoas and zesty limes – a beautiful concoction if you ask me; perfect for a drink hehe.
When I initially starting wearing it, it felt greasy but later I realised it’s because I was putting on too much and it made it harder and also longer for me to work into my body. I now dot the product on my body as it makes it easier for me to work into my skin as opposed to spreading it in my palm then applying to my body.
The product leaves my skin feeling moisturised and soft for a good 5 hours but I found that my arms and body stayed moisturised longer than my legs. The amazing scent begins to fade after an hour or two - it's still lingers but just faint.
I love to wear this in the evenings particularly after my shower; it’s not one of those refreshing citrus scents but it definitely shows off that you care about what you slather your body in. This would also be perfect on hot summer days but be mindful that it’s an intense scent so try not to ruin the experience for yourself as this fragrance lasts a good 4 hours on my skin when massaged well.
I bought it for $37.90 from Lush Downtown and I feel it’s worth the investment! Would I repurchase? Absolutely! Really stoked to finally find a Lush lotion that works for me.
Tips: I apply this after my shower making sure to concentrate on my décolletage, neck and arms. If you feeling greasy after application it means you’ve put on too much; take the time to work it in – it’s worth it.
