Lush Celestial Moisturiser Review

Redness. Stinging. Irritation. Sound familiar? Having sensitive skin can be incredibly frustrating (even painful!), which is why we invented our most gentle moisturizer, Celestial. With its creamy cocoa butter base, Celestial effectively moisturizes without irritating ingredients like citrus oils or alcohol. We blend vanilla water, to help the skin retain its moisture, with hydrating almond milk and fresh dove orchid extract to keep delicate skin in soft, glowing condition. Celestial also doubles as a fantastically softening night cream for all skin types.

A LOVELY Moisturiser

I tried the Lush Celestial Moisturiser several months ago after having it recommended to me by a Lush sales assistant - WOW this is actually one of my favourite moisturisers now!

To begin with, Lush is one of my favourite companies in general because of all the amazing things they stand for - recyclable packaging, animal rights and natural ingredients to name just a few! It's such a good feeling knowing that you're helping to support great causes with their products.

The product itself comes in the typical small, black, screw-top Lush plastic tub. The moisturiser is creamy and white, and smells BEAUTIFUL! Very vanilla-y and delicate, such a lovely smell. I personally do have quite sensitive skin, and I found this moisturiser to be very soothing, gentle, and nourishing, without being over rich or over greasy.

My only con for this product is that it does not contain an SPF, but if you're using SPF in your makeup then it's not really an issue. It lasted me a good 4-6 months, so well worth the price, and generally just an awesome investment if you've got sensitive skin.

I thought the same about the SPF, but I guess at least you can use it night and day and just pop a separate sunscreen on in the day if you had to. So keen to get this one - I've been trialling a tester and it's LOVE!

I've only tried this once, at a pamper night, but your review has reminded me to search it out...thanks!

Love!

I really need to repurchase this! I was sad when I scraped the sides clean and found it was out of stock online. This cream reminded me of yoghurt! It's all I can think of when describing the scent and texture. I would use it at night as I would use a different cream that contained SPF for the daytime. I found it balanced my skin out and kept it so plump and hydrated. I was less prone to redness and overall my skin just felt calm and moisturised.

I seriously am going to go and check to see if it's back in stock right now!

Vanilla, almond, soothing, what is not to love!

Like all Lush products this is not tested with animals and made with mostly organic materials. This cool soothing moisturiser is often the only thing my skin can tolerate. It isn't the cheapest product out there and I wouldn't recommend the container for traveling as it tends to leak but it does everything you need. The only caveat is if you are allergic to nuts you may react to it. It also doesn't have sunscreen in it so you need an additional product for daytime use. But as a night moisturisers it is one of my favourite products.

Tips: Pop it in the fridge and use chilled on hot nights, bliss!

Almonds are actually classed as seeds, not nuts, so often people who have nut allergies don't react to almonds.

Good to know that this container gets a bit leaky! When I get this bad boy, I'll have to pop some into some other pots for travel. :)

Wow factor moisturiser

All my life I had had problems with other moisturisers. My skin would get all itchy and inflamed so I gave up using moisturiser then a friend told me all about the lush products and how great they were so I had to give it a try. At that point my skin badly needed a moisturiser. I ordered it online and straight away my skin felt so soft. The tub looks small but it goes a long way you don't need much at all. Whats the saying a little goes a long way. I have been using it now for a week and my skin is soft and has a healthy glow to it. I will be keeping this at the top of my list. It is perfect for people who can't wear other moisturisers. I was very sceptical at first with all the other options I had tried in the past but took the leap and will never turn back it is amazing. My skin has thanked me for it by not being so dry and lifeless.

Used to be my number 1 moisturiser

I have honestly lost count how many tubs of this I have brought. We are talking double diget numbers here!

I went through a stage where my skin was a mess! Red, bleeding, flaking and sore. I had tried everything it seemed. Then a lovely lush lady noticed and sent me home with a sample of this. As soon as I put it on it felt cooling. I could see it absorbing into my skin.

I would keep a tub at work, bathroom and in my car. It's what I call fragrance free as its not a perfume smell. It's a natural fresh smell. It's light and a little goes a fair way.

I'd use it on spots of eczema that would pop up on my arms. I'd mix a wee bit in with a doctors prescription to put on my body to help sooth it.

I'd totally recommend it to anyone with dry problem skin

Best Moisturiser EVER.

This is the BEST daily moisturiser I have EVER used. That's a big call but I love it so much, plus it's cruelty free!

I have super sensitive and dry skin, especially during winter and this stuff is a little miracle worker.

It relieves itchy skin, redness, inflammation and is super hydrating. An all in one!

I use it in the morning only as I use something thicker at night, but you could definitely use it at night as well.

I am on my third or fourth pot this year, (my BF steals it too) and even thought that may sound a lot, a little goes a long way.

The fragrance is really mellow and light, nothing to strong so sensitive skin will love it. I highly recommend this product!

Tips: Make sure to keep your black pots from Lush as once you have 5 you can trade them in for a Lush face masque which is so rad.

Absolutely delicious

A bit heavy for use on face, but great for my hands. Especially during the winter months with dry and cracking skin - helps it heal right up

Tips: Good for dermatitis/drying of the skin

Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Just Right

One of the Lush lovelies put a sample of it in my last order and I hadn't tried it before, so was curious to try it. At first I wasn't sure of this moisturiser. It has a more natural smell to it, so not overly fragranced which is great for those that aren't so keen on strong fragrances in their products like myself.

It states that it is for sensitive skin and I was dubious because lots of products state that. Okay, so for those that know me, will know how sensitive and dry my skin is and when I say this is really good, I mean it. So its not a 'miracle' product but it does do what it promises. It leaves my skin feeling moisturised, and looks and feels smooth. It could be me but I think it gives a nice radiant look to my skin.

The formula itself is interesting. Its not thick but at the same time its not thin either, in the words of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, it is 'Just Right'.

Tips: If you are still unsure as to whether this is the right product for your skin, I would recommend asking for a sample of it, you won't know if you don't try it :-)

It's celestially good

In my order I did over Christmas I recieved a generous sample from Lush. Their samples come in small tubs and are generosly filled with plenty of product to test it out. I've never heard of this moisturiser before. I've only just started getting into Lush this year .

I can't discuss packaging , but typically Lush's moisturisers come in black tubs. I got my sample in a clear round pot. It was sealed safely. This cream is white. Its medium in thickness. This scent reminds me of a very mild cocoa butter scent. Very subtle like Vanilla deelite.

I got a minimum of ten uses out of this moisturiser. I used it only on my face. This settles into my skin nicely. I don't have to wait a few minutes. Non greasy feeling on my skin. My skin was hydrated nicely after using this. I didn't need to put my face serum on with this.

If your wanting to try this out before trying go to your nearest Lush store and request a sample. I think its fairy priced. This cream has a perfect consistency non greasy and not over powering in scent. Great for dry skin. Had no skin irritations at all. I'd definitely purchase a full size after trying this.

My Holy Grail Moisturiser

If your looking for a moisturiser for dry and sensitive skin, this is it. Lush's Celestial facial moisturiser is the best moisturiser I've ever used hands down. It's the only product that stops my skin being horrible and dry, and actually improves my skins hydration each time I use it. Each time I apply the better my skin is. There have been times where I've switched from using this for awhile and I've really noticed a difference in my skin, while other moisturisers have done a good job right after using, I feel like they haven't helped the longterm problem, where as Lush's Celestial moisturiser seems to build up a certain level of hydration in my skin that doesn't dissapear overnight. I also absolutely love the smell and texture, the product is thick and creamy and just really nice to use. The price is great for a facial moisturiser and worth every cent, and you can be sure this won't bother sensitive skin and instead soothe it. I hope Lush never stop making this because I absolutely love it!
