One of the Lush lovelies put a sample of it in my last order and I hadn't tried it before, so was curious to try it. At first I wasn't sure of this moisturiser. It has a more natural smell to it, so not overly fragranced which is great for those that aren't so keen on strong fragrances in their products like myself.
It states that it is for sensitive skin and I was dubious because lots of products state that. Okay, so for those that know me, will know how sensitive and dry my skin is and when I say this is really good, I mean it. So its not a 'miracle' product but it does do what it promises. It leaves my skin feeling moisturised, and looks and feels smooth. It could be me but I think it gives a nice radiant look to my skin.
The formula itself is interesting. Its not thick but at the same time its not thin either, in the words of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, it is 'Just Right'.
I received this in a Lush Christmas gift set and was a bit bamboozled by this. The version I received in the gift set came in a small silver tin, but I understand the regular version comes in the classic black plastic Lush container. The tin packaging was awkward as it was difficult to unscrew and would inevitably become greasy with moisturiser so opening it was a nightmare! The description on the packaging says this is a moisturiser but makes it unclear if it is intended for the face or body. I had to actually google this to work out it was intended for the face (based on the fragrance and texture it seemed more like a body moisturiser!). The moisturiser is quite thick in texture, and white coloured with a musty almond fragrance that I didn't enjoy. I am not a big fan of face products being fragranced and the smell just isn't gross but isn't very nice either. This is quite sticky and greasy and feels like body lotion in consistency. I have dry, sensitive skin on my face so this product is aimed at my skin type. I didn't find it hydrating enough for my skin and it felt like it just sat on the surface of my skin and left it feeling tacky, rather than soaking in and providing more moisture. It didn't irritate my skin, but I found I had to reapply this throughout the day as my skin just wasn't being hydrated enough by this, whereas my normal face moisturiser I use I only need to apply that once per day. I also gave this a go as a body lotion and it wasn't hydrating enough on the body either and still left my skin feeling tacky/sticky. I love a lot of Lush's moisturisers but this just didn't seem to work and I am unclear on what the product is trying to achieve here. I think this would be too heavy however for those with oily skin as it left my skin feeling sticky (albeit still dry!) but it isn't hydrating enough for those with dry skin, so not sure who this suits! I wanted to like this - but this just didn't seem to work and it is a pricy product, so I have higher expectations that this would at least do something! I wonder if this has been reformulated as older reviews of this seem quite positive.
Tips: Use sparingly - a little goes a long way.
