I really like this clay and coffee mask, but I don't use it as a mask that often! I like to use it as a body exfoliator, because the grains of coffee are really big. I feel like it does a good job at brightening my skin, and leaves it very smooth.

Lush Cup O Coffee Fresh Face Mask Review
Lush Cup O Coffee Fresh Face Mask Review
Wakes up tired complexions
If you're a sucker for the strong, dark, stimulating type, this coffee-filled mask is just the thing to kick-start your day. Wake up and invigorate the skin and mind with the rich, intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet roasted cocoa extract. Kaolin deeply cleanses impurities from the pores and ground coffee acts as a gentle scrub to buff away dryness and reveal the glowing skin beneath. Smooth this one all over your body to feel soft, clean and wonderfully fragrant.

Tips: Like all Lush products, this one can go off pretty quickly due to the fresh ingredients. You need to use it up fast (within a month or two)
You might want to try this!
My beautiful friend sent me a sample of this and she has me hooked! Spoiler - I love it and will be purchasing a full size!
Packaging: Standard black Lush tub, which I love. They're made from recycled material, they're sturdy, the lid closes nicely and they look nice and simple.
Scent: Okay this really smells awful but I'd rather it smell this bad (natural) than have them add unnecessary fragrance. It's something I can't describe very well but it's very strong and only dissipates mildly as you wear it. If you're sensitive to smells, you might want to give this a miss.
Product: I love it. It's amazing. This is the first physical exfoliant I've ever used that has actually done a good job and not made my skin feel like I shred it with tiny shards of glass (I'm looking at you apricot scrubs). I love the mask concept of this, two of my favourite things combined, masks and exfoliants. Leaving this on for 10 minutes really allows the coffee goodness to do it's thing, which is perk up the skin. I've never had a mask or an exfoliant leave my skin so soft, smooth and glowy. The caffeine really works the skin, it wakes it up, makes you feel more fresh. The kaolin helps to draw out any impurities and the glycerine aids in giving back some moisture. It's a wonderful mix of ingredients and my skin loves it. Once the mask has "dried" (it never sets fully which is a good thing in my opinion), I find it best to wet my finger tips with warm water and start moving in circular motions around my face, adding more water to my hands as needed. You really don't need to rub hard as the grounds are scrubby enough, the more water you add the less abrasive it will be too which is better for more sensitive skins. After I've "scrubbed" the mask around I take a warm wet wash cloth and gently remove what's left. My face is instantly brighter and plumper and it feels baby soft.
Overall: I'm so happy to have found a good physical exfoliant and one that is reasonably priced too! It's easy to get and once you collect 5 containers you can take them back for a free mask. I would suggest getting a sample of this first as it could be too stimulating and/or abrasive for some skin types (dry and sensitive) but I think normal, combo and oily skins will adore this!
Tips: Get a sample and patch test first! Just to be sure (:
I was so excited when this came out. I LOVE coffee, the scent, the taste mmmm coffee. So of course I had to buy it, it would be very rude not too.
It comes in the standard black lush tub. I brought this in the 150g tub. Don't forget take 5 empty tubs back for a free fresh face mask.
The texture of this brown mask is on the thinner side. Unless I am completely hopeless, I feel like I have to be very careful when I apply it to my face so I'm not dropping it everywhere. It has coffee grounds in it too making it the perfect 2 in 1.. Mask and exfoliator. The scent is coffee but with a very sweet twist. It's not overpowering and it's nice to the nose.
I apply a thin layer and let it do its thing for 10 minutes, this mask doesn't dry on your skin. Once I'm finished I give it a gentle rub round my mug gently exfoliating away all the dry flakey bits from my skin.
One tip I have with this is, its best used in the shower. The coffee grounds go everywhere and are difficult to wash away.
Once I dry my face my skin looks clear and really refreshed, it also feels really soft. A complete turn around from the dry dull state it's in before I use the face mask. I love this face mask and will be repurchasing.
As soon as I heard that Lush were bringing out a Coffee Mask, I knew I had to buy it. Holy heckeroo, am I glad I did. I have tried lots of coffee scrubs and coffee masks and honestly, this has to be the best yet. I am so in love with it.
Sensitive skin? No problemo for me, this works perfect, doesn't irritate or leave my skin feeling sore or red. Leaves my skin soft, revived and this is seriously the best thing to use to wake you up in the morning.
Love coffee? Then this is going to be heaven city for you. Don't like coffee? Okay, maybe not the best product for you, but it isn't overly overpowering, so maybe give it a try. You may just fall in love with it.
I've nearly finished the pot and is on the list to buy in my next Lush shopping spree!!!!
Tips: YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE, SO GO GET IT!!!!!!
After seeing the beautiful Kim Rose wearing this mask I decided to get myself a sample of this coffee mask from Lush. I was heading in there to get my mothers day packs that I had been watching online. I haven't tried a coffee mask before only scrubs so I was very excited because I love coffee scents.
My sample came in a clear tub. I don't really like these because they don't feel secure to travel with. I prefer the little black tubs because they close firmly. The consistency of this mask is slightly runny with coffee grains running through. As soon as I started smothering this across my face I can instantly smell this fresh coffee hit. To me its like a freshly brewed cup of black coffee. That scent smells wonderful to me. But my kids didn't like it at all.
I found this mask easy to spread out across my face. It can be a little bit messy with wash off as there are coffee grains present in this mask. After using this mask my skin feels clean and hydrated. I can see a slight glow in my skin tone. Out of one sample so far I have managed to get two applications. My guess is that I have about another two to three applications remaining. I thought this mask was lovely to try. I would definitely purchase a full size version of this mask.
I went shopping with my youngest daughter a couple of months ago and we ended up at Lush, Newmarket. She is one of the biggest Lush lovers I know.
As we wandered around the store, popping goodies into our baskets we came across this pot. She said "Mum, you have to have this"! That was all I needed to hear.
That evening I washed the days make up off and opened the little black pot of gold. {well, coffee}.
I applied this amazing smelling mask, it was really like wearing your coffee on your face, yummo! It spread easily and was gritty from the coffee but it did not hurt my skin.
I left it for around 10 minutes and then washed it off. the shower looked a bit messy but it washed away ok.
Wow oh Wow! I really loved how my skin felt and looked. My face looked refreshed and it looked sort of plumped up {in a good way}. I will be buying this again for sure.
Tips: Ask for a sample next time you are in store.
This is a gorgeous, gorgeous face mask/scrub which is amazing at waking you up in the morning! I read somewhere that even smelling the scent of coffee can be enough to stimulate parts of the brain and give you an instant energy boost. I don't know if this is legit, but after using this face mask I certainly feel much more awake and energised! It smells INCREDIBLE, very strongly of coffee (so if you don't like the smell of coffee then I wouldn't recommend). It is very grainy in texture from the ground coffee in it. After 10-15 minutes this mask dries, and when you add some water to wash it off it becomes the most amazing scrub. Such a great exfoliator. Would definitely recommend, especially because supporting Lush = supporting a wonderful movement of ethical beauty and social change.
Usually I can deal with coffee smells - I like the smell of brewing coffee, coffee houses, coffee scrubs - so when Lush bought out a coffee face and body mask I was more than interested. Luckily, I got a sample in one of my orders, so I could try before I bought.
Good LORD. The smell!!!! I was warned by member Pintsize that the coffee mask smelled like cigarettes and she was not wrong! The smell of it is absolutely foul - or maybe my coffee palette isn't that refined. Either way, it smells rank.
The brown gloop is exactly that, and filled with little tiny chunks of coffee. I put some on after I had washed and exfoliated my face, and it went on easy enough, and 'dried' quickly, leaving the coffee granules stuck to my face.
This is the weird thing though - the awful ashtray smell had disappeared and was instead replaced with a weird musky cougar perfume smell. It was a bit over powering and I wasn't too impressed with it. But the results of the mask were awesome, and I would buy a small tub just for the lovely way it makes my skin feel.
Tips: This is also a body scrub so you can use it wherever you want!!
