Lush Dirty Soap A blue bar of Dirty Soap, for when you want a quick wash that will leave you smelling of spearmint, sandalwood, pine and oakmoss. Use for layering with the rest of our Dirty range, to leave you top to tail irresistible.

The soap base we use in this product is a palm-free formulation. Palm oil production for food and toiletries is endangering the rainforest home of the orangutan and many other species and contributing to global warming. We took all palm oil out because we think man should have evolved beyond this.

Minty.

Lush is a brand I have a slight obsession with... So when they had a 50% off sale on their website I took advantage of that and purchased some items that I hadn't used before. This was one of them.

Dirty is a cool looking blue/deep teal soap. I love the name, I think it's a fun play on words. I also loved that this is Palm oil free and that it has sandalwood in it. As sandalwood is one of my favourite scents I expected this to smell sexy, woody and musky.

Whilst I can smell sandalwood in this, the overwhelming scent (for me at least), is mint. I am not a hater of mint but I definitely prefer it in food as opposed to soap haha. Because of the strong mint scent I really didn't like the smell of this :( it isn't bad enough to make me never use it but it isnt a soap I look forward to using in the shower.

I will use this up but I have other Lush products that I am using at the moment that I prefer over this. I have been using this as a solid cleanser for my beauty blender which has worked really well - it gets clean and it retains a slight minty/sandalwody scent.

Because this isn't a scent I am wild about and there are others from Lush that I love, I wouldn't repurchase this. If you like a fresh, minty scent then I definitely recommend it but it just isn't really my preference.

Tips: Chop small pieces of the soap off to make for easier use in the shower and keep the remaining chunk in your underwear drawer to scent your unmentionables ;)

Blue Lagoon

Having tried a bunch of the other lush soap I had to give this a try too. I like this one it's different because it's not fruity or florally. So the man of the house can use it too.

I love the blue colour of this soap it is quite a deep bright blue with a slight shimmer through it. The scent is quite manly and minty but it's refreshing on those busy days. Don't worry it's not overpowering and you aren't going to get of the shower smelling like men's cologne.

It doesn't lather up too much just a little bit. It doesn't dry my skin out after using it and it doesn't leave my skin feeling squeaky clean soapy. All in all its a lovely soap not a favourite but I still like it.

Ocean Blue

Lush's Dirty Soap was given to me with a group of soaps ages ago. But it's a product that I've been struggling to decide what I really thought of it.

My first impression of the soap was blueness. I was reminded of water; Bex calls it a blue lagoon and I think that describes it perfectly.

As a scent, it is more gender neutral, being neither fruity or floral and there is a minty tone to it. But I also felt like the scent somehow created this empty lagoon/ocean feel. But I'm not quite sure how it achieved that. It is possibly the oakmoss and pine, creating the scent. Something about the soap just feels outdoorsy.

As a soap, it was pleasant to use and nice and gentle on the skin.

It wouldn't be my personal pick, but I think it's a great gift soap because it is more neutral. I also like the it is palm oil free.

Really liked this

I got this in a haul a couple of months ago and have only just gotten around to cracking it open.

I'm in love, Blue is one of my favourite colours and to soap up each morning with this really makes me smile. It's a glycerin type soap and to me it seems to have lasted way longer than the other soaps I purchased so I'm happy to have paid the price I paid vs how long it's lasted for.

The scent is something else - the description didn't 100% appeal to me but I love it! I can't pick the spearmint but can really smell the other listed ingredients. AND it doesn't contain palm oil - YAY!

The only slight downside is that this is definitely a fragrance that needs to be layered. Although it's noticeable in the shower, once you're out and dry you can no longer smell it.

Once In A Blue Moon

You know every once in a blue moon there is a scent so powerful everyone recognizes it, a statement scent really. Now, this is one of those.

First up, it smells like it's a fragrance for men - but I absolutely love it. It's really minty, powerful enough to pass for cologne, but fresh enough that it leaves you feeling refreshed and energetic.

I use the soap with the shower gel, because I love the everlasting smell of this scent. It's become my new favorite too! I bought two blocks of these for a little experiment between my dad and I, because I don't always use the soap it takes me longer to finish a block, whereas he needs a new bar of soap almost every third or fourth day (yeah, I don't know either).

This bar of soap lasted me around a month, using it three or four times a week. It lasted my dad exactly a week and two days, longer than his others (100g - the same amount as the others). If it wasn't for the price being four times more than the others, he'd definitely use it again. And I? No matter what the price it's a scent I seriously cannot get enough of. Repurchase is absolutely necessary!!

I love how you can tell them in store how much you want, and at home you can cut it up so easily. A butter knife just glides through, very effortlessly.

Would I recommend it? If you're not a fan of strong, lingering scents or masculine scents, then I'd suggest not to buy this. But if you're like me and you actually like those kinds of scents, or you'd just like to feel really refreshed when getting out of the bath/shower - then I would definitely recommend this!

Get Dirty in Your Shower

This was the first Lush soap I had ever used and honestly, it was actually a soap I hadn’t heard much about, and the only reason I purchased it was because it was part of the Lush Legends gift box that I splurged on and treated myself to one day.

The soap is blue, but has a slight translucency to it. I only got the 100g soap but it was more than enough to try it out and see if I liked it. The description of the soap says it has notes of sandalwood, pine and oak moss, but in reality all I can smell is this delicious minty freshness, which wasn’t I was expected because you don’t expect a soap named dirty to smell so fresh. I was pretty impressed from there because I love a minty freshness, from my toothpaste, to amazing conditioners I’ve had, all my experiences with minted beauty products have been positive, and spoiler alert; this product continued that trend.

Upon opening the wrapper, this amazing intoxicating minty scent fills the air. As I said, I’m a fan of mint, and I wouldn’t recommend this product to those who weren’t a fan, but I also want to say that this product isn’t intensely minty, it just has this really nice balance of mint, and freshness and amazing smellingness.. yes I just made up a new word to describe this product.

This product, although it is a soap it doesn’t lather as much as normal soaps. I found that instead of the soap lathering up on my skin, the soap was thicker and it when rubbed over my skin it kind of left a gel residue rather than a foamy one. I have to admit, I loved that because it cleaned my skin without stripping it and drying it out so that was nice, as well as it being a bit different to other soaps I had tried. Okay this may be a big call, but so far this is one of my favourite soaps from Lush, betting out the rock star soap, karma, and baked Alaska. However it has a few competitors such as the porridge soap, and the god mother but you can read my reviews on those later (when I do them). This soap it lovely, and I think it’s worth the time to try it out, at the very least give it a smell when you’re in lush next although that really doesn’t do this soap justice. I’ll say it once, if you like minty scents; you need this soap in your life.

Fresh and Clean

Over the Boxing day period I did a lush haul because I couldn't resist the bargains they had on at the time. Also with enablers in the forum gave me that extra push to make a purchase. When I recieved my haul I got a generous sample of this soap from Lush. I've never been given any samples with my orders by any other company before so I was super happy. I like the element of surprise you get when you recieve them. I notice that Lush's soaps have very different consistencies .

The sample I got was the size of four sugar cubes put together . The colour of this soap is royal blue with a deep teal undertone. This soap is shimmery with silver and blue glitter sparking through it. It looks so beautiful. This scent reminds me of a fresh ocean breeze with a minty zing radiating through it. This soap is opaquely blue not creamy at all.

I find this soap difficult to lather up. I help it along with a puff or wash cloth and it foams up nicely. This scent is so fresh and clean smelling. It lasts on my body for a couple of hours and begins to fade out.

I love the quality of Lush's soaps. What I like about them is that one bar is so generously sized that it lasts me up to three months. This type of soap bar seems to hold it's shape longer than the exfoliating bars .Theres no gooey film under mine Im quite surprised. After trying Lush's soaps how can I ever go back to store brought soaps. Its worth trying these out. Great quality product. I'll definitely be buying more lush in the future. Im hooked.

Not normally a soap person

Normally I stay clear of soap as it tends to over dry my skin but having a sample of this Dirty soap that I got as a freebie in a recent Lush order I thought I would give it a try.

This soap is a glycerin type I think as it has a gel like appearance that is set solid, in a semi opaque hues of blue and hints of black smudged through it. Having a musky almost male scent that fills the entire bathroom with its wonderful aroma, whilst in use but also when left to sit waiting it's next victim it emits a soft musk that keeps the room smelling nice all day long, even more so if the sunlight warms the room.

Rubbing between your hands under running water the soap creates a gentle lather that helps run the product all over your body, there is no drag or over foaming of the soap. After rinsing off my skin feels so clean and almost has a squeak to it, but once towel dried it still remains soft and supple, no dryness at all which also doesn't arise later on.

Recently I have started to prefer Lush soaps for in shower cleaning over normal methods like shower gels/creams as I have noticed the Lush soaps are far more gentler and more enjoyable to use with their natural scent and skin conditioning properties.
