This was the first Lush soap I had ever used and honestly, it was actually a soap I hadn’t heard much about, and the only reason I purchased it was because it was part of the Lush Legends gift box that I splurged on and treated myself to one day.
The soap is blue, but has a slight translucency to it. I only got the 100g soap but it was more than enough to try it out and see if I liked it. The description of the soap says it has notes of sandalwood, pine and oak moss, but in reality all I can smell is this delicious minty freshness, which wasn’t I was expected because you don’t expect a soap named dirty to smell so fresh. I was pretty impressed from there because I love a minty freshness, from my toothpaste, to amazing conditioners I’ve had, all my experiences with minted beauty products have been positive, and spoiler alert; this product continued that trend.
Upon opening the wrapper, this amazing intoxicating minty scent fills the air. As I said, I’m a fan of mint, and I wouldn’t recommend this product to those who weren’t a fan, but I also want to say that this product isn’t intensely minty, it just has this really nice balance of mint, and freshness and amazing smellingness.. yes I just made up a new word to describe this product.
This product, although it is a soap it doesn’t lather as much as normal soaps. I found that instead of the soap lathering up on my skin, the soap was thicker and it when rubbed over my skin it kind of left a gel residue rather than a foamy one. I have to admit, I loved that because it cleaned my skin without stripping it and drying it out so that was nice, as well as it being a bit different to other soaps I had tried. Okay this may be a big call, but so far this is one of my favourite soaps from Lush, betting out the rock star soap, karma, and baked Alaska. However it has a few competitors such as the porridge soap, and the god mother but you can read my reviews on those later (when I do them). This soap it lovely, and I think it’s worth the time to try it out, at the very least give it a smell when you’re in lush next although that really doesn’t do this soap justice. I’ll say it once, if you like minty scents; you need this soap in your life.
You know every once in a blue moon there is a scent so powerful everyone recognizes it, a statement scent really. Now, this is one of those.
First up, it smells like it's a fragrance for men - but I absolutely love it. It's really minty, powerful enough to pass for cologne, but fresh enough that it leaves you feeling refreshed and energetic.
I use the soap with the shower gel, because I love the everlasting smell of this scent. It's become my new favorite too! I bought two blocks of these for a little experiment between my dad and I, because I don't always use the soap it takes me longer to finish a block, whereas he needs a new bar of soap almost every third or fourth day (yeah, I don't know either).
This bar of soap lasted me around a month, using it three or four times a week. It lasted my dad exactly a week and two days, longer than his others (100g - the same amount as the others). If it wasn't for the price being four times more than the others, he'd definitely use it again. And I? No matter what the price it's a scent I seriously cannot get enough of. Repurchase is absolutely necessary!!
I love how you can tell them in store how much you want, and at home you can cut it up so easily. A butter knife just glides through, very effortlessly.
Would I recommend it? If you're not a fan of strong, lingering scents or masculine scents, then I'd suggest not to buy this. But if you're like me and you actually like those kinds of scents, or you'd just like to feel really refreshed when getting out of the bath/shower - then I would definitely recommend this!
