I was lucky enough to receive this for a birthday a few years back and it lasted forever, largely because I only used it at night and usually shower in the morning.
Lush Dreamwash is a shower soap, which comes in one of their 'big black pottles' - great if you go to Lush a bit, because if you return 5 of those, you get a free mask! It did make me very curious as to how a shower product in that format was going to work - I'm used to them being in squeezy bottle, or bar form!
This has a consistency sort of like a clay mask - it's very thick and scoopable, and leaves obvious traces of residue on the skin. It's a very pretty pale purply colour, and smells gorgeously relaxing with the herbal and floral elements, and it rinses away cleanly, so that isn't an issue - but was a little disconcerting at first!
I adore Lush Shower gels, and find they leave my skin silky and nice - this was a little more drying, which perplexed me as it is marketed as a soothing, calming product. My skin soon recovered if I used a lotion after, but the at-the-time feeling wasn't ideal.
The scent is lovely, and it hangs around for a while, which made it a good product to use to wind down before bed in an aromatherapy sense. It's not cheap, and you need a decent handful of product to cover you as it doesn't really spread or lather, and also doesn't thin out easily, so it's a more expensive option best left for the at-night shower when you need to relax a bit more before bed. Even then, there are better products on the market for cheaper.
I do really like the concept, ingredients, and scent, but I would not repurchase this as it didn't work well for my skin and at this price, from a quality company, I feel like I should be able to rave about it.
I was recommended this by a LUSH employee when I asked her what LUSH products are good to help soothe eczema.
On first glance, it looked very promising, with all its natural and soothing ingredients, and calamine powder as the first ingredient! (reminding me of that magical lotion my mother put on me when I had chicken pox as a child, haha)
It smells amazing, perfect for bedtime as it has a very calming, relaxing scent. It is a very cute pale pink colour. As it is a shower smoothie, it is much thicker than a gel, but softer than a soap, and has a nice thick, creamy, consistency.
I was put off by the rather big price tag, but I was assured by the LUSH girl you only need a small amount in the shower. This is NOT true. It doesn't lather at all and like the directions say, you actually need to scoop out a handful to wash your entire body. So not that great for someone on a student budget like me.
Also, it did NOT help my eczema- it felt good at the time, but after a week or two of use my eczema was definitely not improving, it actually looked worse. I'm not exactly sure what ingredient affected me, but I do have super-sensitive skin and have to avoid a lot of different things in soaps, so I stopped using it.
I chose to return the product and receive a full refund (which i promptly spent on bath bombs!)
Although this product is not for me, I would still recommend it to others who have less sensitive skin, and want a nice moisturising, luxurious feeling shower product.
P.S. I'm really interested to see if anyone else with sensitive skin or eczema has tried this??
Tips: LUSH has a great return policy, so you can always do what I did, try it out, and if you react badly to it like I did, return it for a full refund x
Also I found it went a bit further if you use with a loofah or shower sponge.
