I actually did a lot of research on this product before purchasing it. As much as I do LOVE lush, I think that a lot of their skin care products are over hyped and don't actually work. Everyone suggested that you don't purchase it as it doesn't work but I thought I would try it any way.
It comes in a small signature lush bottle, with a pump and a cap on top. This is perfect for squeezing the product out and applying it where needed, however, the pump unfortunately always, without fail, pushes out way too much product, and I'm left wasting it.
The product itself is a super thick pale yellow, gel consistency that has a couple of spots of something inside, there aren't too many off them, and I can tell they are part of the product, but i've yet to figure out what they actually are.
I find the product much too thick, and this is probably one of the reasons that so much comes out of the pump. The tiniest amount is easily spread across a large surface, and thus this will last you a long time. However I find that, unlike other spot treatments I've used that dry and absorb into the skin, this one sits on top of the skin, refusing to sink in for 30 minutes. I find it sticky, and hard to work with, and if you have a big blemish, you have to be very careful and not touch anything until it has fully dried which takes ages.
The most upsetting thing about the whole product, is that it doesn't work. It has no effect whatsoever on the redness of my pimples, on reducing the size, or on helping soothe the soreness. My spots are still the same regardless of whether or not this has been used.
This has to be my HG (Holy Grail) of spot treatments in the world. Okay so that maybe a bit of an exaggeration as I haven't tried every spot treatment in the world, but I have tried this one and it is amazing.
Back in the day when I used to get really bad skin and my skin was breaking out with lots of angry red pimples, I would apply this baby and wow, the results were amazing, but I'm getting a wee bit ahead of myself, lets start from the beginning he he he.
Bottle - great bottle with a little button that you press which gives you a nice squeeze of the product. See Tip for a little advice on using this.
The smell - it smells like Tea Tree to me and I can't really smell anything else. Its not overpowering, so if you're not a huge fan of Tea Tree, you may not want to dismiss this right away.
Texture - this is not like your usual spot treatment that comes in a lotion, this comes in a gel and I don't find it greasy at all, its also very soothing. Perhaps you could put in your fridge too especially for the summer months like you do with Aloe Vera.
The results - Amazing, as I said before, this product really does do what it says it does, it reduces your blemishes by half and they look less angry. This really is one of those products that you will find hard to replace.
Price - well worth it because it literally will last you months, but be sure to note the expiry date. Now I'm not saying you should do this but even on the bottle it states Best used fresh, I use it well after that date and it still delivers as if it would a brand new bottle.
Tips: Be careful though as one pump usually gives out quite a bit more than you really need. So just pump it only half way down for less product or fully down for a big amount.
Also note that it can leave a bit of a film like flaky skin, you know after you're sunburnt and it peels off, but just cleanse as normal and it goes. You can also just rub it off and you can still apply your usual products or makeup etc.
